For the month of February, Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games – two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 – as part of the Games with Gold program. You can play both Xbox 360 titles on your Xbox One withBackward Compatibility.

On Xbox One, Xbox Live Gold members can download Hand of Fate ($19.99 ERP) for free during the month of February. Styx: Master of Shadows ($29.99 ERP) will be available as a free download from February 16th to March 15th.

On Xbox 360, starting Monday, 01 February, Sacred Citadel ($9.99 ERP) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members through February 15th. Then on February 16th, Xbox Live Gold Members can download Gears of War 2 ($19.99 ERP) for free through February 29th.

      Me too, I got GoW and GoW3 for $1 each in the JB Hifi sale, but GoW2 wasn't reduced.
      Hopefully I'll still be able to renew my currently Gold membership for $1.

    GoW2 will (finally!!) mean we have all of the series as BC free downloads.
    But the rest… pretty lacklustre list, really.

      Yes - exactly.

      I was also hoping they would include it at some point as it's the only Gears Of War 360 title that has not been free with Gold. In addition, they stopped giving away all 4 previous games with the Gears Of War Ultimate Edition at the end of December.

    DAMN IT!

    I bought Gears of War 2 around xmas time not thinking it would go on free again and that was the only game in the series I don't have digitally but have the disc for.

    and this is coming from Steam with 2800 games and taking advantage of steam sales.

          Can't buy on Xbox One Store, you have to do it on 360 or xbox.com. Don't worry, it'll appear in your ready to install queue on the XB1 - I've done this myself.

          As above, buy online, go to your XB1 games list, scroll right, you'll have them as ready to download.

          For some reason, Xbox 360 game ( free with gold) is not selectable and only Xbox1 games are coming up to redeem.

          @Baahubali: All Games with Gold xbox360 games since November(?) have been backward compatible so work for xb1 too. You just need to 'purchase' them through the website

    I bought GOW 1,2,3 for X360 to use on XB1 with backward compatibility about 3 days ago for $12 for all at Ebgames Hoppers Crossing

      I bought the remastered GoW for $40 last year - it came with free GoW 1-4.

      Then i sold it for $45 after completion

      BC games will now be ready as soon as they're done - no more scheduled monthly drops. As soon as they're ready, they'll go live and be announced.

          @justtoreply: This would be fantastic, and probably would have been an option if there weren't such an uproar about the always on connection to the internet, causing them to scrap the disc being required to play.

      They dropped some about a week ago (21st in US I believe) but yes as mentioned above, they are now just dropping as soon as each title is ready

      The games do vary considerably. There is typically at least one AAA title though (in this case it's GOW2).

      Remember all the Xbox 360 games will work on the Xbox One… so you are really getting four games.

        I didnt buy the latest gen console to play the last consoles game. Wouldnt the graphics look the same as on xbox 360

          Alternatively you could just settle for the two xbox one games so quit whining.
          As for the graphics, yes, it will look about the same as if it were played on an xbox 360. It's running an xbox 360 game, not a remaster.

      Have you played Hand of Fate? It's actually quite brilliant. I've sunk 7 or so hours into on PC and I love it. Brisbane-made too.

      When you create a gamer profile you should be offered a fortnight or month free trial (I think you can do this two or three times per machine) - though sometimes these free trials don't allow you to download the Free With Gold games.
      If you bought a new XBox 360 you likely got a free month Gold membership included - this does allow you to download (and keep) the Free With Gold games. Some games have a free month Gold moembership too.
      Additionally there are occasional Go Gold For $1 offers. Such an offer is currently appearing on my Xbox dashboard, though in my case, that's possibly because I bought a few games from the Xbox Live store during my free Gold month.
      I've seen deals on here (now expired) for buying Microsoft store credit at discount - and Gold memberships are available online cheaper than at the usual outlets.

      I'm sorry that's a bit vague but it's not an avenue I've explored myself.

      One last thing. When you set up a Gold account, the prompts suggest you need to register a credit card - this isn't true. I was able to create a Gold account without any bank / credit card details by having activating an Xbox Live gift card/voucher (from EB Games or Woolies or somewhere like that). I think I activated the gift card before I activated the free Gold month.

      U need to buy it on a pc using a Web browser then it will show up on your Xbox One saying ready to install. Make sure to 'buy' the free xbox 360 title not the xbox one title
