WRT the outdoor camera. Does anyone know if you can buy a generic Infra-Red receiver and attatch it to the camera for night vision purposes?

I need to catch a bunch of kids who find it funny to put banana peels under the wind screen wipers of my car!

  yeah you should be able to just illuminate the area with an IR light of some sort, but just as in a normal light it's got to have enough "throw" to be of any use. Someone suggested a standard Security sensor light which would probably make the most sense?

  lol@banana. You need to be a bit more specific. If you are planning to set up a cheap wireless system solution you need a wireless 2.4GHz transmitter/reciever. The "infra red" is a camera feature to pick up images in the dark.
  
  If you want to have a look at the range the market offers check amazon. You will find wireless transmitters plus a normal cam for about 35 us dollars + postage. Transmitter + Infra Red Cam at about 50 + Postage. The upper range starts at about 200 us + delivery. You will probably need also a PVR to do the recording etc. I havent checked the logitech specs so you might want to spend sometime assessing your setup options and whether u will have a dedicated system for this or hook it up to a pc and use a software.

  Doubt it. Never seen it happen to any other negative vote in the history of OzBargain although there is some talk about giving users collective power to remove -ve votes. But that's another story.

      mate the guy has beef with the usefulness of the product which is grounds for his right to vote negative. A deal is not only price but other factors. This is a fairly open forum though with some censorship and regulation. I think the guy is within his rights if he truly believes the single electrical circuit limitation devalues the product offered.
      
      That is not to say I agree with him as I have not personally researched these types of product and the experiences of long time users.

        @sash213: SOME MODS unfortunately do not distinguish between a negative vote due to the price (what OZBARGAIN is about)and a negative vote due to a product criticism (someones trash is anothers treasure). They really should place a strict policy in this regard so that people suffering from a superiority complex go and see a shrink instead of venting here.

        @maxixix: a person is allowed to negative vote if the product is of poor quality, but they are meant to give details and links if possible to support their argument - the problem is most logitech stuff works pretty well for most people, so it's difficult to make the argument that logitech aren't good. I've had a faulty product or 2 in my day, but they're still number 1 in my book :D
