Borrow Galaxy Note 5 While in Korea Plus 1GB Data Via Korea Tourism Organization (Unconfirmed)

140

You can apply for one of the phones on the KTO website http://kto.visitkorea.or.kr/eng.kto starting in late February.

The Korea Tourism Organization is teaming up with Samsung and SK Telecom to offer free Galaxy Note 5 phones to "select" visitors coming through Seoul's main airport (about 250 per week) for up to five days.

You only get 1GB of data, but that beats paying through the nose for international roaming or local prepaid service.

1GB data is fairly decent considering local prepaid data as far as I remember were hard to find and bloody expensive.

A book doesn't give me wireless access to the Gutenberg collection.

      • unless it says "dont Panic" in friendly letters on the front

    • bargain - "an advantageous purchase, especially one acquired at less than the usual cost:"

The way I see it, @Jackfruit is a dictionary cop, reading too heavily on the "purchase" aspect of the definition. If it's free, it's no longer a bargain? If you only use the goods for a limited time, it's no longer a bargain? For example, UHaul offers $25/hour rentals of utes. As soon as they make the utes free to borrow, it's no longer a deal? Makes no sense to me. Is it not a deal if they drop their price to $15/hr?

Libraries always have the book borrowing deal. However, they also have new things to borrow or use, and we see these deals on OzBargain from time to time. For example, two free music downloads per week or free magazines online. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/215205

  • so it is more like a lottery, only 250 people per week, likely not to get one.

Everyone gets one, the ones that aren't under the lucky 250 can apply for one in north Korea.
