As always, thanks for finding us deals TA :)

  • TA, how about Intel NUC skylake deal?

  • Damnit TA! Need to stop spending money!

  • -3

    Best price ever.

  • Anyone able to comment on these vs Extreme in real-world shooting raw images?

Mrs just has a 32GB Extreme in her 600D now, don't wanna go backwards :)

      • Yeah cheers saw that, just trying to work out real world that's all, don't want it to take extra time between shots or anything

      • +3

Eh screw it, bought a 64GB lol we'll see how it goes :)

    • +1

I've found that the newer Ultra's rated at 80MB/s (not mb/s) are not that much slower than the older Extreme's rated at 95MB/s.

In real world terms, the Extreme's seem to do ~91MB/s read and ~82MB/s write.
The Ultra's seem to do up to 90MB/s and 80MB/s write.

      • Cheers :)

      • Really? 80MB/s Write speed?
Every think I have seen has 64GB Ultra's from low 30's to 50's, and slower on the 128GB cards???
Do you have any benchmark's or sites you can link to?

        • +1

          Yes, 80MB/s write.

From my own testing during the last ozbargain round of cheap Sandisk micro sd cards… Note the difference between the different spec cards.

        • @camreeves: Nice! Any idea why the second & third tests were near 30% faster than the first?
Still great results regardless… also what formatting do you use?

        • +1

@ozdavo: Given that it was only 1 test out of 6 (and neither just the first test in the sequence) I suspect it was probably something else going on in the bus of the pc at the same time.

I think it was exfat, but don't quote me on that.

        • @camreeves:
I got less the 20 MB/s write seq on the same program on this card.. using my laptops inbuilt card reader.. am I doing something wrong? Close to 80 mb/s read however.

        • @ChurchMouth:

          CrystalDiskMark

        • @CVonC:
Yes this is what I used :(

        • @ChurchMouth: I havent seen a lot of fast SD card readers built into laptops. I used an external USB3 card adapter connected to a pc for my tests.

        • @camreeves: I don't know enough about them to know if the card reader also has more difficulty with "write" vs "read". I.e. If my card reader is capable of facilitating the transfer of 80MB/s reading.. is it really going to bottleneck a card capable of 50 MB/s writing all the way down to 20 MB/s?

  • Is this ok for a GoPro Hero 4 Silver?

    • Should be no worries, faster than the old Extreme's!

  • plus $10 shipping though

    • +1

      Free shipping

      • ah-ha now it shows with free shipping, bought one thanks.

  • 80mb/s or 80MB/s… Huge difference!

TA. Ordered 2 X 32GB cards. Came up as free ship. Paid via PayPal. Subsequently decided to buy 2 X 64GB cards but not postage discount. Am I missing something or is postage discount only applicable to 1 transaction?

    • +1

      Hi davidem,

Yeap, the promotion price is limit to 1 transaction per customer.

      Cheers

Hi Rep, I put an order in, any idea when it should arrive in Perth?

        • +1

          Hi Spackbace,

My estimate will be 4-7 working days.

          Cheers

      • Just out of interest, where did it specify 1 transaction per customer?

  • +1

this companies sd cards had a problem with the surface pro 3-4. when you say the newer version does anyone know if this has been fixed with these ones.

  • Anyone can tell me if this works on 3ds?

Seeing the adapter has sdhc or sd on it.. but the microsd itself is sdxc? D:

    • I've got the 128gb one in my n3ds right now and it's working. You just need to make sure that it's formatted as fat32 otherwise it won't be recognised.

  • +1

So I guess this is still not fast enough for good 4K? I am finding mixed information.

  • Any idea if these come with an SD adapter?

    • +1

If you click on all links it says + adapter with all of them in the title.

  • Three months ago, shoppingsquare had the 128gb one for $66 delivered. I'll just wait till shoppingsquare does it again or if shopping express matches them.

    • If this is the sale you are referring to, they were 48MB's older model cards.
If you are desperate to save a couple of bucks, you can get one for ~$71 from Amazon.

      • Oh sorry Davo, my bad. I'll probably grab one of these then, thanks :)

  • when will you do special price for asus router and NUCs?

  • Any good for the surface 3 tabs from the other day? Was thinking one of the 128's would go alright and double my storage for now.

Plenty of comments and tests on the new 80Mb/s model here

here are some more recent comments from slightly cheaper deals. you don't always have to link to your own deals TA.

    • +4

Wooow! Where did that come from! I linked to it coz it contains tests from Thrift, and I use it for Ultra deals. Is there an issue with that? Also, in both your links it's not clear what speed the cards are.

      • Not for the 64GB. They're both 80MB/s as confirmed by many purchasers from those threads.

Also, atm the 64GB 80MB/s one is ever so slightly cheaper from here @ $30.56 delivered if using the eBay code (provided the code hasn't expired ofc). Even cheaper with yours or other cashback sites too.

        • @tightarse:

Of course there wasn't anything wrong with linking to the tests TA. Appreciate those actually. But like I said, they have been cheaper previously (not that that fact matters so much right now) even though I did provide a cheaper alternative to the 64GB one. Just pointing out that there are more recent threads which some people may find useful too considering that those comments will obviously be more recent.

Also, there's a bit of trend I've noticed with your voting. You don't usually + vote on deals which become cheaper than yours. Case in point those 2 threads posted by TRENT86. That doesn't really make any difference to me. But yeah each to their own though I guess.

        • +2

Code requires $100+ spend, so not as easy a price comparison ;)

        • @Spackbace:

yeah that's a fair point of course :)

    • no point talking anything other than positivity towards him, everyone will downvote you even though you are correct

Opinions can be formed in 3 months? Wow ok then…

        • +1

lol oh come on spackbace, the length of membership doesn't determine the right to have and form an opinion..

        • +2

          @CVonC:

It reflects the amount of time they have even known/seen TA.

Sure, everyone has an opinion (this is the internet after all), however this is also a witch hunt, for no particular reason.

I'd probably do the same thing, just purely because my own deals would be in my memory so I knew what was discussed in them, hence TA would remember the speed tests discussed in his deals.

not necessarily as a lot of members lurk before actually registering.

however this is also a witch hunt, for no particular reason.

mine wasn't a witch hunt at all. and the reason was just to point out that there are more recent comments, which may (or may not), hold more weight as the item would be closer in age theoretically.

my own deals would be in my memory so I knew what was discussed in them

yeah I completely understand that. I've been inclined to refer to my previous deals too but I do bother to check more recent deals as well and link to them if appropriate.

        • perhaps you dont know that this site is also read only when you dont bother signing up. But thanks for proving you know nothing about anything.

        • @Makoto:

          Well thought out reply

This works out to be about 28.76 for the 64gb with the ebay deal currently on.

The eBay deal has min $100 spend requirement.

  • Hi will this work with the Alcatel Pixi 3 4G?

  • Thanks TA

    <20 MB/s read for me.

    • I hope it is me, not the card. I put a lot of faith in the information provided.

    • I meant <20MBs WRITE

  • 63.12mb/s read and 18.84mb/s write on my 32Gb ultra sd card, is it normal?
