Sorbent quality is getting even worse. I have one roll half way through, a lots tissue bits and pieces on the floor, almost list snow underneath.
The Quilton hasnot gone backwards, got plenty from that famous toilet paper gate from Woolworth, best deal ever! - I didn't wait after midnight when many orders were cancelled - ridiculous price…

    • The coupon stacking? I'm so annoyed I missed out on that, I was sleeping.

I think they are all racing each other to the bottom. Literally. Sorbent, Quilton and Cottonelle all used to be soft and great just a few years ago. They seem so cheap and rough now. I'm quite certain there isn't even any cotton in Cottonelle anymore. Even 4ply feels like a rasp. Oh well, first world problems… At least the prices seems to have fallen too.

  • Is this cheaper than the ones you can get at costco?
Receipt shows i paid $27.98 at end of december but not sure on the specific details
I think it was the cottonelle one

    • I think so. Last time I bought TP at Costco it was an "instant rebate special" (yellow sign) and was 19c/100 sheets.

Aldi 12c 100sheets regular price for tight arses

    • Is the Aldi one 2 ply as well or 3 ply?

      • 2ply

    • It makes my arse tight.

Butt seriously, what's the quality like?

      • +1

        :-) it's great

      • you have to keep trap of these specials. Why not put an entry in your diar(y)rhea so you don't forget for next time

      • Mainly used in crap situations

  • Piggybacking off someone else's deal without upvoting them, you've done me proud sween XD

    • -4

Haha. TA didn't get an up vote because it wasn't in the OP. There's a few things from the catalogue that are now on my shopping list, none of which were in the OP.

    • -4

You don't get an up vote for simply linking to the catalogue, you've got to highlight the deals. And it's not like TA needs more up votes :P

  • 2 ply so I end up having to use 3 sheets but only 2 with 3 ply quilton, you do the maths.

    • +2

I can't do the maths, because i DON'T GET IT !!!But i'll buy the toilet paper, since it's upvoted on OzBargain it must be a bargain.

      • +1

this is 2 ply only so you will need to use a minimum 3 sheets to wipe your bottom if you want to keep your fingers clean…hope I've made myself clear.

      • At 2 ply you'll use 50% more sheets to get the same amount of sheet x ply.

        (2 sheets of 3 ply = 3 sheets of 2 ply)

    • Either 3 or 2 ply, either 2 or 3 sheet, you only wipe your shit TWICE each time.

So 2 ply 2 sheet = wipe twice
      3 ply 2 sheet = wipe twice.

You just have to fold 2 ply into 3 slightly smaller fold.

      Works out cheaper.

      • I'm scared that somewhere, somehow, someone's using this initial thought as the basis for their thesis!

      • I can usually get 3-4 wipes out of each one.

        • Three is pushing it…..4 I would say you got shit on your fingers already.

  • Well done. May your life be long and useful like a roll of toilet paper.

Have not bought toilet paper since late 2014 after we got 576 rolls… :). Starting to run low though

  • Sorbent is crap…

Can you combine it with the $15 cashrewards offer?

EDIT: 20 is the maximum quantity, so you'd have to buy something else for $25.

As a veteran of many a poo-

nami cleanup ( 35 years of nursing) I can tell you with authority that 3 ply is the only way to go. By the way your comments crack me up.

  • Just in here for the toilet humour! :P We've still got a cupboard full of the aloe vera Kleenex rolls.

  • I need a Quilton sale!!!!!

  • Watch the sheet size, thickness of the plies and wet strength.

I swear quiltton has been messing around with the thickness and wet strength. Not as tough as it used to be.

    • Do you wet your paper before wiping?

      • Nope, why?

        • Why do you care about wet strength then?

        • @sween64: Higher wet strength = more durable = less chances of penetrating while wiping = using less paper = more money in your pocket.

Toilet paper maker could manufacture cheap TP that has lousy wet strength and you have to them layer up to give your bum a good wipe ;)

        • @ganymede: Why not measure dry strength?

        • @sween64: Because what you wipe is wet :)

        • @ganymede: Not always!
