    Not online :-(

      Yeah, they moved that page.

    • +3

      Not online :-(

Hence the "in-store only" in the title.

Cheapest price yet for the QC25s though. So maybe we'll get some actual bargains out of this liquidation after all.

  • +2

By the time you get to the store they would be gone. Not worth the effort unless you are close to their stores.

    • +4

I was at the WA store 20 minutes ago. They had a couple each of White, Black, Triple black.

      • Didn't happen to notice if they had any Sonos gear left did u?

        • +2

          Didn't see, sorry.

I just had a quick look after rummaging through the Dick Smith. Nothing good there, btw.

      • I had no idea there was a Move store in WA, I thought it was east coast only haha. Don't think I'll be making the trek NOR just to be disappointed haha. Good find though OP.

        • If you live SOR you should be used to disappointment. :)

        • Why don't you just call them?

        • @Andoes:
Spoke to one of the employees in store today as I tried numerous times to get through to a store and he basically said they aren't answering phones as most people spend 5 minutes wanting to talk about how they managed to go under. Don't blame them really.

  • Pac Fair anyone?

  • +1

These stores shut down for good on Saturday, thus the deeper discounts then Dick Smith who still have about a month to go.
I'd expect any of the unsold merchandise to go straight to the nearest Dick Smith store, though - albeit the discounts may not be as deep.

    • Just the four Sydney airport ones were closed. There are others that are still open.

      • +2

You misread my comment - all Move stores are closing down this Saturday, the 12th (the website front page also says this, didn't notice it before). The airport stores are already done and dusted.

        • Whoops, my bad.

          Added date to post.

      • I think the Sydney international one shutdown already

  • +2

Damn it I just purchased a pair of the QC25 headphones in the Myer 20% off super Saturday. Looks like it wasn't so super after all.

Walked into a MOVE store a year or so ago, walked around, walked out and clearly remember wondering why they existed. Bit of a strange store to startup these days. Maybe at an airport or a single central exclusive flagship type store in each city but not something for the burbs. Funnily enough, the few times I bothered actually going back to a Shopping Centre since then and happened to walk past the MOVE store I never saw any customers inside anyway so that says it all… I mustn't have been the only one who thought it was a bit odd.

    • +1

This was the first time I'd been in one.

From walking past it, I assumed it was mostly just apple accessories.

Turns out they have laptops, tablets, phones, speakers, smartwatches, headphones, etc. Just stocking the more stylish ones.

      • +1

Yes, all the stuff us savvy buyers purchase online :) Not a good time to be trying to open suburban retail outlets to push fancy electrical goods. People who want the 'good' stuff don't go to a suburban Shopping Centre to buy it, pfft. If they really need to open a shop front I reckon it needs a bigger point of difference… like an OTT fancy centralised city store or a cool 'out-of-the-way' store in a Commercial area etc. but hey, I'm not a retail psychologist ;)

        • +2

          I'm not a retail psychologist ;)

          Clearly, DS management aren't either.

Dick Smith, both under Woolworths and Anchorage/Post IPO were well aware Dick Smith stores were well off the map for most female customers - First with Woolies, they attempted to tackle this by trying to re-position the brand image of the existing Tandy store network - This involved trialing a new store fitout and format, modifying the look of the catalogues, making slight modifications to the product range (primarily this involved adding Personal Care products, and in the new format stores increasing the amount of mobile and MP3 accessories, especially adding more fashionable products, and selling a bigger range of PDAs/Smartphones (this was Mid-Late 00s era)) and putting out advertising in the big womens mags. They kept this going for a couple years, but then quite abruptly the brand was abandoned and the remaining stores re-branded to Dick Smith until the leases lapsed, then they exited smaller format stores all-together - regardless of store profitability.

Second with Anchorage/Post IPO, they tried again with a smaller store format, and targeting the female demographic with Move. Move had quite an ambitious store rollout (50+) planned, but AFAIK it was never going too well in the first place. I always found it bizarre they even tried, as rolling out a whole new, brand and format from nothing is an enormous risk for even a mid sized retailer.

      • dicksmith hard to many brands in 2009 tandy and powerhouse why shut down to open up new bands like move.

  • +2

didnt even realise this store was a part of DSE…. now it all makes sense.

  • First time knowing this name…….

Just went to Fountain gate and all Bose products are sold. I was told Emporium and Southland still have stock showing (VIC)

  • +2

They seem to have a few at emporium. Heaps of ozbargainers walking in. Thx OP. Got a pair for my dad.

    • Any Sennheiser? Going there tomorrow because they kept emailing me about closing down sale.

      • Not much left. Saw a few UE megabooms. They still had some beats in stock. Only 20% off on those

    • Thanks OP got one from emporium, fair few left but will sell out tonight.

Massive impulse buy, ozB strikes again!

This is mainly really good for plane use right?

Sound quality isn't as good as others in price range?

      • +2

Yes best on planes. It's not the best sound quality but definitely the best noise cancelling headphones I've ever had.

        • Nice find. Cheapest yet on ozB!
Do the flight movies play well on it? Is it comfortable enough to sleep with it on? I find that headphones can get a bit too warm/pressured after a while. The reviews of it suggest it's really comfortable, can't wait to try it!

TRS for an extra 10% off!

        • +1

          @G Wok:

Qc20s are probably easier to sleep in as they are in ear but I think it's all personal preference. Just got to find the right angle on the plane.

        • @G Wok: I would agree with julz15's as I have a pair of QC25's and find that they do get pretty tight and uncomfortable after awhile. This is the main reason why I'm changing to the QC20i's and selling my QC25's.

        • @badtzmaru56:

Thanks, hopefully it's not too tight for me. Don't like yours enough to sell?

        • @G Wok: I've found that I'm just not a headphones person, much prefer earphones. Prefer not to have too many bulky things to carry.

        • @badtzmaru56:

Only problem with the QC20 is that the battery isn't replaceable, thus you need to have a nearby powerbank. I like the convenience of just buying another AAA and you are good to go with the QC25. Also reviews say the battery on the qc20 only lasts 5 years!

        • @julz15: I did consider that, but I always have my Xiaomi Powerbank 5000mAh in my bag (for my phone) and has a super thin profile. I actually think carrying a powerbank is more practical than spare AAA batteries because it can be used for multiple devices - 5 years seems to be quite a long time as well, I don't think I'd expect anything more, haha.

I just found the mere size of the QC25 has discouraged me from bringing it anywhere other than when I travel - and even then, I hesitate to pack it on my carry on.

        • +1

@G Wok: I gave these a great test on a few recent long haul flights to the US. I normally wouldn't buy Bose as there are a lot better headphones out there but for Noise cancelling these are the best headphones I have ever used. I would not fly without them again. I wore them non stop for 12 hours each leg, occasionally taking them off as my ears got a bit hot but lets face it, any headphones on for hours are gonna get a bit hot. Very comfortable to recommended these. Haven't used them outside a plane though so can't help you there!

        • +1

@G Wok: $300 from one retailer within 60 days

        • @olliestyles:

Ah damn so TRS has to exceed $300?

        • @G Wok: Yes, that's correct - I ended up buying QC20i's, convinced a friend to get one too - well over $300.

        • @badtzmaru56:

yeah shoulda bought one more thing, ah well!

        • +1

@G Wok: You can go back and buy something else $40 or more and then you can use TRS. You can combine receipts from same store to total above $300, as long as both are within 60 days of departure

        • @G Wok: $300+ from one retailer (same ABN), can be multiple receipts, but all within 60 days of travel.

      • +1

        Really good for plane

Also good for train/bus commute, or noisy offices, esp aircon drone.

I feel that the qc25s are slightly less comfortable than the previous qc15s. I mean still very comfy but I sold my old ones already so can't compare again.

I like that u can still listen if your battery goes flat though on the new one.

  • Does anyone know if they have wave 4 in stock? Rrp $799

  • +1

Thank you OP!! I almost pulled the trigger on the Bose QC20 at $335 earlier in the week, but decided not to. $260 is a fantastic price.

Walked into the Adelaide store just now - it was busy, but there was plenty of stock left.

  • Guessing they won't hold stock?

    • I saw a couple out back with names on them so maybe????

  • I picked up the last pair of dc 25 at macq park. Plenty of dc 20 still there

    • Thanks. Saved my time going to MQ.

  • Do they stock the QC20i by any chance?

    • +1

Yes I saw some qc20s on the shelf

      • Cheers, been looking for a set of these.

  • +1

Just called Garden City and Indooroopilly, Garden City has nothing but the Indro store has two sets of the white ones with Android cable.
I was looking for the black pair with Iphone connection so shit out of luck for me. Hopefully that helps someone else!

    • Was this only for the QC25's? I'm looking for QC20i's but I'm in a lecture at the moment and contemplating leaving just to try and snag a pair..

      • Sorry mate I didn't ask about any other models, best give them a call and see whats still left. Best of luck

  • +3

these are a great pair of headphones, fark wot ppl say about the brand, i sit on the lounge and i kid u not i cannot hear my missus nagging at all, money well spent.

    • Definitely great value for money, lol.

  • Just called the Sydney Bondi store - out of stock. :/

    • Just been to bondi store, they had one pair of qc25s (Samsung) left but they have probably gone now. They had plenty of qc20's both Samsung and iPhone, also quite a few Bose speakers, a few display laptops and mobile phones. The mobiles were 40% off so pretty cheap but once very limited stock. Apple was only 5% off as well

  • Plenty of QC25 left at Burwood store

    • +3

Lol. A big fat guy came in and took like 15 of them left at burwood. Out of stock now

      • +9

        Broden lives

      • +3

Called and they said they had 30
Got on train and called said they'd sold out
        Effing resellers

  • I just tried my QC20's for the first time, the noise cancelling works eerily well, even with no music.

I'd suggest only buying them if you need them for travel or situations where active noise-cancelling is a must. The sound quality is not as good as I was expecting, a bit muddy. Good bass though. Very very faint white noise due to the active noise cancelling.

With the battery turned off, the sound is garbage. Seriously don't bother buying if you won't keep them charged.

    • Agree, after I got the QC20i, it sits in my drawer most of the time. The sound quality is $50 at most. I only used it for flying maybe twice a year.

  • So the QC20's are 35% off too?

    • All Bose products are 35% off

  • Thanks OP

  • Emporium have 4 white QC25s left. Southland are all out.

  • disgruntled staff pilfering or hoarding stock yet?

  • Plenty of stock left in the Adelaide store.

    • I wasn't aware Adelaide had a Move store, or even know its location. How many were left when you saw?

  • +1

Partner took the last white QC25 from emporium

    Sorry guys

But she did say some fat dude took a lot of the headphones. Was probably a reseller

    • +6

This fat guy really seems to get around rather quickly

    • +1

Emporium likely has more, as I bought one near closing time and they told me it was the last one too (maybe to make customers feel good, but I actually felt guilty because some people lingering around looked disappointed after I bought it), but it wasn't the last one. Chance your luck and drop by tomorrow perhaps if nearby!

  • Damn this is tempting…. but i think ill hold back purchase for sennheiser momentum… any one saw it at emporium melbourne?

    • Bought one from emporium near closing time, white one (for Samsung Galaxy). Employee said it was the last one but they restock (walked back around and saw another white one). Must be to stop people mass buying. Likely no black ones remaining.

      • Nice! Guess I'll head down tomorrow and grab one. Got a QC25 already, gonna get another!

    • Nice. Which store??

  • Thanks for posting this. Have been checking prices on rhe QC20s for the past weeks ahead of an overseas trip. Picked up the last 2 for iPhone at Emporium!

  • I already have the dc 20 and just got the dc 25 with this deal. The dc 20 definitely has a better noise cancellation capablity . If I don't play music in the background, I can still clearly hear people's conversations nearby with the dc 25 whereas with my dc 20, it's silence

    • +1

Because they have the passive noise blocking due to the IEM design. The con I found is wearing it for a while became uncomfortable. Otherwise great stuff rom Bose

  • +1

No stock at highpoint. Just missed it.

  • Spewin i didn't see this earlier. Would dig a pair of qc25 or qc20 before my holiday in May. Bummmmerrr

  • Very lucky to get s pair at emporium Melbourne, but for those who missed out and are after a budget pair of noise cancelling headphones, I reckon the mutant branded ones from officeworks are the most underrated headphones in this category. They work extremely well as noise cancelling headphones and have good overall sound quality. Not as comfortable as QC25 though, but definitely worth considering. Very surprised it isn't talked about very much.

    • Link?

      • Hmmm…officeworks doesn't seem to have a working link to the headphones any more, potentially they no longer sell them, which is a shame. Apologies. A Google search makes it seem like some places in the US sell them (e.g. Amazon) but I'm struggling to find an Aussie seller.

  • Is the stock being MOVEd to DSE during wind up process? Ending on the 12th is sudden..

  • Oh man this sucks, I'm in Tas so no local pickup - been wanting a pair of these for a while!

  • Does anyone know if there are any stocks of Bose QC25 headphones left in any of the Melbourne Move stores? Cheers

    • Give the stores a call? From earlier posts, some people reporting some white QC25's still at Emporium…. Pretty sure stock would be low by now given this has been front page of OZB!

  • Just went into Adelaide store, lots of Bluetooth (Soundlink) QC25 for around $219? I got the black QC25 Noise cancelling ones, probably about 20 left at 950am… $259. very happy!

How do the Bluetooth QC25 compare to the cabelled QC25 headphones?

    • +1

Same here. Got the QC25 NC ones (white). There were a few in stock.

  • Dose someone want to pick one up for me and ship it over….happy to pay
