I don't get why iPods exist anymore. It really confuses me.

    • +4

for people who don't want an expensive mobile phone but still want the Apple apps…

      • That's correct.

iPod touch is for little kids, who wants an iPhone but minus the monthly phone bill.

      • -4

Inexpensive phone that's not complete rubbish + iPod tocuh = Price of decent Android.

        Apple apps

People actually want Apple apps and their 2000's UX?

          People actually want Apple apps

          yep…

        • And all the malware and viruses and exploits you get for free.

        • @hotzone:

          rolls eyes

Not like iOS gets malware, oh wait it does.

Also Google releases security updates every month for Nexus, does Apple do that for iOS? No.

        • @PainToad: no they release updates for their entire fleet all at once. Androids biggest issue is fragmentation something the CEO of Google admits. The update process is a joke, Telcos have zero reason to package and push out updates to customers if you can call and text they need do nothing else, 50% of users are stuck on KitKat or worse and their only option to get the latest OS or even device encryption is to buy a new phone or install Roms made by back yarders. Fact http://developer.android.com/about/dashboards/index.html#Pla…

iOS owners can stay with a phone for years get continuous over the air updates. Androids a great OS but it's fundamental issue is the update process.

        • @hotzone: but every IOS update slows down your i device. Maybe just me.

Not an issue for Nexus owners. Anyone who buys a non-Nexus phone (especially Samsung) is stupid (yes, there are lots of them).

        • @PainToad: I tend to agree

        • @PainToad: There just aren't that many of us Nexus owners…

I use an ipod nano when I go to the gym or a run. much lighter and good on battery life compared to carrying a phone.

      • -1

Armband + Bluetooth? With bonus of GPS Runkeeper.

        • +2

ipod nano does have bluetooth… I don't need a GPS runkeeper, I just run lol
I don't like carrying my phone in my pocket at the gym either - too bulky and distracting.

Note the iPod touches are previous (5th) gen.

    • What gen are we up to now ?

      • +1

6th. COTD had the 16gb 6th gen for $179 last week.

    • And it is almost not net surfable after IOS9 update.

      • +1

Typical Apple. One generation old and suddenly even browsing becomes a struggle.

Sounds just like my iPad 3.

        • Not surprised as this has A5 chip you find in ipad 2

  • Might wanna fix the title. The 32gb version is $165

  • Was in my cart but did not go through to payment. Must be out of stock now

  • Apple leather case for 5S for $29 might be worth a look for those looking at purchasing the newly announced iPhone SE.

  • all out ;-(

  • couldn't add Apple iPod touch 16GB (Pink) to cart. would say sold out

  • Thanks op, just price matched at office works. $142 for an ipod is still unreasonable, but much better thank apple.com.au

ipod nano will be $119 tonight at COTD. And if it's like the previous ipod deal then this will be the latest model.
