$800 for a two year phone wow

    • Is it really worth that, I am Android user since smart phone out but would like to try iPhone, tired of cleaning memory all the time, cheers.

      • -3

My comment was meant to say $800 for a two year phone wow. As a long time Apple user it's a rip off to pay that much for a phone nearly two years old.

        • While I agree with you on Apple prices, if you could get these at this price I would imagine there would be a handy profit to be made via ebay etc. You could still get much more then $800 for these, regardless of whether that makes any sense or not.

        • What you think the price should be is irrelevant. The RRP at Apple store and other stores for this is currently above $1,229.00, so it is a bargain.

        • @Nobita:

          Isn't that for the 6s?

When this is is for a 6?

        • @Brianqpr:

Wouldn't the profit to be made on the current model and not this ?

        • @sshazam: It's for 6. 6s Plus 128GB is $1,529.00. Our AUD really suck.

        • Technically speaking, it is only 18 months old ;)

        • @Nobita:

Ohh in that case this is a bargain !

    • +4

I think they get delivered brand new. ;)

$800 for any phone, wow! My Samsung Galaxy SII is still going strong.

      • i'm an android user, prices like this are normal for the two big companies (sammy and apple), the rest hover around the 500-600 mark.. i'm talking on sale mind you. Overall it's actually cheap for an apple product specially at that size memory :)

        • Prices are normal but not for a phone that old. If it was a 6s it's a good price but not for a phone released in 2014.

        • +1

@sshazam: thats apple for you.. :) seeing as though 6S plus is 1000+ and only released a year after the 6 its decent … like i said for an Apple product :)

Samsung Galaxy SII High five \o

Only considering upgrading because I keep running out of App storage space…

I paid under $300 for a redmi note 3 recently and am very happy with it. I don't get spending up to $1k or more on a phone at all. Most who do this use it for nothing more then basic internet browsing, social media and banking apps, obviously calls and texts and taking selfies etc.

You simply have no need to spend so much to get a phone that will do all of those things very well. I guess its a status thing, but then the phone is out of date in 6 to 12 months anyway.

        • I'm glad you're happy with your phone. I'm happy with mine too. Let's just leave it at that.

        • -1

          err, ok.

      $800 for a nearly two year old phone, wow…. ! ***

It was meant to be sarcastic.

    • +1

goes to show how well they hold their value.

  • Will it ship from VIC warehouse or overseas?
Does it include GST like the other iphone 6s plus deal from kogan ebay?

    • +1

Says it is sold by AU Kogan, so shipped locally and must have GST.

  • +1

"Listing ended because item is no longer available"

    • +1

I have a feeling it will soon be re-listed but via Kogan HK (and consequently without GST included).
My delivery estimates arrival around 11th April which is another clue about the location in my opinion.

      • Got mine today, you're right about GST. Is that even legal?

        • +1

They sent it from HK with a commercial invoice from Kogan HK Limited. This was extremely deceiving and I will be in touch with them immediately.

"Hello, your listing for this item clearly indicated it was supplied by Kogan Australia Pty Ltd. I was expecting a tax invoice pursuant to your terms and conditions. Instead, you have supplied the product from HK and provided a commercial invoice. This is extremely unacceptable as the phone no longer carries GST credits. I must insist on a tax invoice from you for my purchased price. Your failure to do this will prompt further action on my part which may include contact directly with the Australian Taxation Office to relay your deceptive business practises."

        • @Risto: How did they reply to you?

        • @chino8826: They said it was an international version, therefore no GST. I wish I can call my service an "international one" and not charge GST to my clients. It was an Australian company providing the product, there is no way they can avoid the GST. They are wrong and I will make sure they understand the consequences.

        • @Risto: I think they've got us here.
I looked up my paypal transaction and the seller is actually Kogan.com Pty Ltd ABN 53 152 570 351 which is not registered for GST.

        • @Risto: the Kogan eBay store is trading as a HK company.

        • @Risto: sorry my bad. The seller on ebay is not this entity. It's "Kogan.com Pty Ltd" ABN 75 125 684 184

        • @chino8826: That wasn't what the advertisement said. And I strongly doubt the Ebay seller (if it is Kogan.com Pty Ltd) sells less than $75,000 per year.

Do these still bend or was that fixed?

    • +7

I believe it was eventually confirmed that all things bend if you try hard enough.

      • -2

Thanks for your totally helpful input there! lol negd for asking a valid question. Its a well known issue for those such as myself who keep their phones in their pockets. So any actual input here would be good.

        • Apple reported that a total of 15 phones bending. That's not bad when they've sold at least 500 of them worldwide.

        • +4

@muncan: Maybe even just a little more than 500!

        • +1

          @Risto: Let's not go crazy.

        • @muncan: is that figure in '000s or millions

That's 3% of the phones sold according to your figure.

        • @Oz Bargain 3: I stand by my "at least 500" remark.

    • This is the first gen iPhone 6/Plus, so it will still bend (I believe).

The iPhone 6S/Plus have the improved aluminium that are more resistant to bending during normal use/pocket life.

      • Thanks for an actual viable answer :)

  • How ironic it is, that many people hated or complaint the Apple stuffs, like iphone/ipad/mac ones, and yet is the earliest to be out of stock……….

    • Currently using one. It's a good phone and justify a the price tag IMO as I don't need an IPad now ( I was using the IPad Mini 1st gen everyday whilst using my 5c 16gb but with the memory and size of this phone, I have not touched it since I got it)

    • +1

Hardly. Everyone knows there is huge demand for Apple stuff. The detractors feel it is overpriced based on what it actually does, what components it is made up of and that the price is inflated by a perceived coolness of the brand and blind loyalty. Hence queues outside stores every time a new gadget comes out and the fact that every launch is hyped up by the media.

I reckon this is the first time I have seen anything Apple related on here that represents a genuine bargain. You could flip these for around $1k each easily. But they are all gone.

    • I assume the people whining about Apple products being overpriced are not the ones buying them. Also, the listing has ended with 132 sold, hardly an earth shattering number from the 50m+ iphone sales every year quarter.

  • +1

It's an Apple, price doesn't have to be rational.

  • The only bad thing about this phone is 1gb of ram. Sure it still performs well, however you'll noticed apps and browser tabs will need to reload more often on this phone.

  • +1

Don't need to worry about the adapter plug. You can get an origional one for free from apple here

    • Yes, but Apple AU stores are expecting you to bring in an Apple AU plug - not a Kogan adaptor or an Apple plug from a different country.

      • Not necessarily. They will send one by mail with attached reply paid. Just keep the original and might need it when traveling.

    • +3

You can go to any hotels and ask for iPhone plug that you have left week ago. They have tons of them after cleaning rooms. I used this trick before and works.

    • The adapter plug that comes with the iphone 6 is a small "nugget" like adapter as oppose to the older versions where it is more "brick-like". They are replacing the "brick-like" ones where you pull it apart. The "nugget" like ones do not pull apart.

      • You might be right, but i am not sure if its the same with oversea's one, but I think they might be.

  • Can you get more stock?

  • Can you get more stock?

Hey guys. Kogan is doing fraud by NOT providing a tax invoice with. GST. The ebay listing clearly states it is sold by Kogan Australia Pty Ltd. also the location is stated to be Melbourne. I think we have a case to report to ACCC
