      I'm guessing this isn't retail Windows 10.

      Windows retail doesn't come with a COA (like an OEM does) it comes with a license key card. If it was from a physical Windows 10 retail then you would be taking a scan of the license key card.

    I think this is an OEM version and I believe that means the when you install it on a device the software can never be moved from that device.

    A full version could be installed and later uninstalled and re-activated on new device.

      I think it must be OEM because as i said earlier Windows 10 retail does not come with a COA such as found on an OEM, it's a license key card.

    Hi yes these are OEM , although if your computer dies or there is damage microsoft will often send a new key to you free of charge.

        You are allowed to sell OEM as a first origination that haven't been attached to hardware already. There are new and never installed. There are plenty of places you can purchase OEMs, especially if you're new building a PC from scratch.

          @andrew1879: Hi Andrew1879, Our main point to MoonBox is to actually have digital licensing as a product. If you are wanting a boxed product then this is definitely not for you!

          Our business model is to have online, digitally delivered licences and to provide them fast than you would have boxed products. We're not trying to step around physical boxes, COA's etc. We literally don't want to sell them! We have the COA as a backup of their item's legality and peace of mind for the purchaser. We're focusing on doing licensing differently, and not just trying to take the huge retail chains (Target, K-mart etc.) head on. Hope this help explain some of our philosophy.

          Again, if you want a boxed product then I've got half a dozen suppliers more than willing to provide!

      I'm not so sure about that. Otherwise people could just keep using their licence from machine to machine. It's tied to a given machine. If some parts break, Microsoft may, at their discretion, allow renewal, but not always.

        Hi Make it So, The response bellow solves that one. Personally, I had an HHD got bust on Dell Windows 7 with OEM install. When I reinstalled on a new HHD I just activated online as usual with no issues, so depending how and when you're activating it can be fine for legitimate issues.

        No once u upgraded it its perma win10…

        U can download win10 iso from MS and enter the W8 key in subsequent installations…

        The 1 year is the time frame after Win10 launch (June 2015) to register your free upgrade, not how long your upgrade of Win10 version will last.

    This is fishy…very fishy.

    If this version of win 10 is indeed as the representative states as OEM, then it should be aimed at a specific hardware and there shouldn't be of any chance that you could install it onto a generic computer, except the activation system has already been tempered in the installation media. If so it should be free of charge since it's equal to pirate version.

      Nah oem versions can be installed on any hardware for the first time.. Once installed and activated, it sends a digital signature of your hardware (pretty much the motherboard model etc) to MS and its recorded against that OEM key.

      Future installations and reactivation, MS checks for that digital signature.. If it matches then ur good.. If not (you changed motherboard) then it will not activate and you have to call them up.

        Really? If so then it kinda defeats the original purpose of OEM versions.

        Back when I received my Lenovo laptop with Win 8 pre-installed, I requested an installation media from them and tried to install it on a generic DIY computer to no avail. I'm pretty sure you can't install it onto computers other than Lenovo's. Maybe things are different with Win 10.

          thats because that key is already tied to ur lenovo laptop. i.e. that Key in MS's database says its registered to a lenovo laptop and thus, any subsequent installations MS see it being installed to for example a ASUS Z97 motherboard will not activate.

          My point here being, is it legit to resell OEM keys as new like you've explained, with no hardware tied to those keys whatsoever? That doesn't sound like the purpose of it.

          IMHO I can't eliminate the chance that one day MS might crack onto them and revoke those keys? Even though they might work well at this moment.

    This is an OK deal if you overlook the fact that OEM are suppose to be sold together with hardware. So in essence, to make this legit, Moonbox needs to sell you a piece of hardware (i.e. a motherboard) along with the OEM key to make this 100% legit. (assuming the key itself is legit in the first place)

    I think the product is legit and not a bad deal if you understand the terms of an oem license. Many products and licenses are digital now and I still have an email with an activation code for windows 8 pro from years ago FROM MICROSOFT.

    Some of the comments here relate to the trustworthiness of this specific vendor which may or may not be warranted. But many are also just uninformed.
