    I thought Sizzler was dead.

The last time I went, the quality was so poor it wasn't worth it.

      I thought Sizzler was dead.

Was waiting for 1 of these comments. Seems to appear on ever Sizzler deal Sigh

Plus you're from WA… and you've never noticed 1 of the 4 restaurants we still have?!

      • I don't ever visit those suburbs.

I have only been to 1 of them and that was 3 years ago- I felt the quality has dropped so much considering the price.

How do you find the quality?

        • +1

Last time I went (Riverton I think) the quality was much better than when I went to Kelmscott years ago. They also didn't seem to care that we were going for drinks and salad bar without purchasing it… They did look at us funny like they knew though.

        • We don't like Kelmscott at all. The food there was very poor but Morley has always been good.

        • @AreYouAWiiizard: What are the prices these days? I think Carvers at Crown is better value these days.

        • +1

@GameChanger: Don't ask me, a friend shouted, but I assume too expensive for what you get still but I may be wrong.
EDIT: Prices can be seen by going to the store pack and clicking menu: http://www.sizzler.com.au/restaurants/riverton
          Cheaper than I remember it.

        • @AreYouAWiiizard: Thanks for that info; yeah seems cheaper than few years ago. I don't think Sizzlers is that popular, 4 stores is very little.

        • @GameChanger:

Went to Carvers a few months back, we were the youngest in the place, it looked like a retirement home! All food pretty basic and soft, to match the clientele.
Sizzler isn't exactly the bees knees, but Carvers isn't either ;)

        • @Spackbace: Yeah both places are not the best. Crown unfortunately entices the older people by offering free bus rides and coupons which offers a greatly discounted price to seniors.

    • that's what i thought until i spotted one still standing in innaloo ( Pleasant Surprise). Quality is always so so, but that what you expect for most take aways and food outlets in WA anyway ( compared to Singapore or Hongkong).

      • Sizzler hasnt changed much over 30 years. Kudos that it has survived. But anything associated with salad is a tough market. Cant compete with the convenience of salty sweet fatty aromas of junk food.

      • My family had 1 more chance trying sizzler in Innaloo, and decided and the end of it that we had enough of it . No more to sizzler as we spent closed to $75 on Sunday afternoon ( with 4 drinks) and went out still hungry and craving for more tastier food . The varieties had been cut down lots compared to the sizzler at beldon ( closed down) and the quality and hygiene (it looks clean) are not as good as before . Sorry sizzler but farewell from us .

  • I miss Sizzler in Newcastle! :'(

  • The Sizzler I went to in the UK was all you can eat Indian for ten quid. Was damn fine food (cooked to order, not a buffet).

    I'm from Melbourne.

I use to like Sizzler as a kid. Ate till I puked.

Then again, as a kid I had pretty low expectations.

I see QLD still have heaps of Sizzlers around.. From experience the quality of restaurants in QLD isn't that high and suit the taste of locals/tourist there.

Does anyone know where and when the last Sizzler closed in Melbourne?
