Cmon man…you can do better that that….Surely you cant be that desperate for upvotes?

easternculture, im sorry we cannot help you with fake or dodgy roadside assistance maybe try Woolworths roadside for that.

We offer real roadside assistance to people, we have a current customer base and if you wish to call our call centre go for it.
Please read our terms and conditions and feel free to ask questions, we are there to help you.

im sorry we cannot help you with fake or dodgy roadside assistance maybe try Woolworths roadside for that.

Are you claiming that Woolworths provide dodgy roadside assist

Gotta be careful what you say in public unless your looking for a lawsuit

  • +14

The funny thing is we have the backing and the ability to have someone to assist you within the hour, we're comfortable and confident about it.
Also I know you jumped to conclusion because you posted that within 11 seconds of this coupon ad going live, so how would you have read our terms and conditions to determine that it's dodgy.

I would say you assumed because we are not called NRMA, but our plans are closely based around what the NRMA will offer.
We do not give free cinema vouchers, free fitbits etc as that is what is included in your NRMA premium and when i say premium I MEAN PREMIUM.
we pass those savings to you so you get what you actually need and not a whole lot of other crap so called FREE

    • I tip my hat to you.

Within 1 hour for WA as well?

      • Yes within 1 hour in WA as well

  • Do you guys cover motorbikes?

    • Hi Tomieraw,
      Yes we do cover motorbikes

      • Under the same cover? I thought it was only cars, Ute's etc

  • I'm in Vic, would I be able to buy ?

    • +1

      Hi Kechenl,
Yes we do cover Victoria, we currently cannot cover tasmania but are working on this

      • great

  • Is your name potentially a little confusing if you are trying to market yourself as a specialised independent product? The first thing I thought of when I saw your post is that you would proabably be associated with real insurance and be an offshoot offering from them.

    • Hi Sparkyglo,
We are not an offshoot of Real Insurance and are independent. We market as Real Roadside, Real People.
We are actually backed by a much larger roadside provider hence why we have such a large network of experts on the road.

We want you to know that you will be dealing with actual people and not automated recordings

      • +4

Hi OP. Mind to let us know more about the "much larger roadside provider" backing? I'm considering switching to you guys actually, but can't find any info about your company on Google.

When I search Real road side assistance, I get Real Insurance instead.

        • +1

Looks like they've recently changed their name from LifeSocial roadside, but not much info comes back on them either.

        • Good question- won't sign up until I get a response

      • Could we also have the ABN?

        • 50 663 861 475

  • Just a quick note from feedback that we have had, the coupon deducts the $10 off the price at the final review and pay screen

  • I think the real bargain here is free RSA for under 21.

    • It's not a bad deal but does only cover 1 call out per year

      • Typical OZB question:

        Does it roll-over? :)

  • Just signed up, nice and simple. Hoping you guys don't jackup the price after the first year

    • Thank you Tomieraw, we do not have plans to change prices once people have joined. We believe in remaining competitive at all times.

Do you cover situation I once had, I got locked out of my home, my car is inside the garage, the key to the house is inside the car, the key to the car is in the house.
Can I use the callout for you pick lock the garage/house and then pick lock the car?
Do I need to pay anything extra?

    Thanks

    • +3

      Hi FM,
It seems a tricky situation you were in, but i do have to ask if someone was able to picklock the house you would have access to the key to the car. so in this situation we would be able to help you with pick locking your house, and you would not need anyone to pick lock the car as you have access to the keys.

      unless im reading this wrong..

We would help pick lock the car if it is accessible

      • +6

Well done for sticking around and answering everbodies' questions rep, you are doing good job. :)

        • +1

          thank you!

      • -1

Yeah, if u pick lock my house, then that will solve the problem.

        Awesome!

  • DO you cover for WA?

    • Hi sangsukpark, we do cover western australia

  • Hi Moderator, Just a question.. I have a current roadside with RACV which ends at the end of the month.
Can I use the $10 discount at that time for sign up?
Also what is the normal Show up time on call for emergency call out?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Krameez,
Yes you can use the coupon code up until 30 June 2016
the Average callout time of 34 minutes^ but could be longer based on peak hour traffic, weather

      • Thanks for quick reply.
Deal done mate. I am going to get it before the end of the month when my current one will end.

  • When you go to sign up, there's a comment: After completion allow 48 hours for Roadside Assistance to be available. If you need immediate assistance please call us at 1300 85 1243. Is there an additional charge for immediate assistance? If so it should be listed clearly that there is a charge and what the charge is, and if there is no additional charge it would be beneficial for the company to list this.

Also in your T&C there is a clause that is highly unusual for a roadside assistance provider:
1.6 We do not offer emergency repairs on the side of the road…
What is the purpose of a roadside assistance provider, who won't perform any repairs? Most people would consider things like changing tyres, jump starting/replacing batteries to be emergency repairs (and these are listed as available services). I'd understand if there was a clause about towing the car to a more suitable location if it's in a dangerous spot, but a blanket "side of the road" clause seems excessive.

    • +3

      Hi WazzaP,
Thank you for your feedback on this and we will have this corrected overnight, its actually a really good question.

firstly in regards to After completion allow 48 hours for Roadside Assistance to be available
if you require service within 24 hours of signing up there is a $70 charge

in regards to clause 1.6 We do not offer emergency repairs on the side of the road…
our intentions are to avoid changing your engine, fuel filter and more complicated repairs that would be cheaper for you to have done at a mechanics garage. we do not mean we will not change your tyres or battery as these are included in the service

once again i thank you for pointing this out and we will correct this tonight

      • Thanks for the reply. I would have thought wording 1.6 along the lines of "this service is for emergency breakdown repairs only, and is intended to get your vehicle mobile, so it can be driven to a mechanic for full diagnosis/repair" would be better, and maybe a comment of "if the vehicle is unable to be repaired at the roadside (due to safety issues or requiring parts not carried by our service vehicles), it may be towed to the location of your choice, within package limits".

Also in 1.1 it mentions that the service may be registered to a van, individual or company - if it's registered to an individual, can it cover multiple vehicles owned/driven by the individual?

Lastly do you have any sort of coverage maps? I somewhat regularly travel to semi-rural areas/small towns etc, so it would be good to know where I would be covered.

PS A large portion of your website still has the content from the ride sharing side of the business, rather than from the roadside assistance side - eg the help pages are all ride sharing, no details on roadside.

  • do you use RACQ like most other roadside breakdown services?

    • Hi PVA,
We do not use RACQ for breakdown as this does not allow us to control the quality of service delivered and would affectively mean we would be just a reseller for the competition

      • thanks, when I called another breakdown service (holden) racq came out. I just wondered, thats all.

the free 2 go is a great deal for the kids, you need to get Driving schools to push it to their customers.

        cheers.

        • +1

Yes that is another great idea with the driving schools.
in regards to breakdown offered with holden, nissan and the likes the majority just send out NRMA / RACQ

  • whats your ABN?

    • +1

1.2 We cover towing up to 25km in City areas and up to 50km in Country Areas.
Excess km's are payable by the customer at the time service is provided. Payable to
the driver or over the phone at the rate of $4.40 per km for metro areas. Excess rates

Terms and conditions this section is interesting.
1.8 There may be instances where our service providers aren’t available, specifically in remote areas and in some instances you may have make arrangements for service.

  • OP, do you offer a "Total Care" type package that is comparable to the one offered by RACV?

    • we currently do not as we did not want to get carried away with so many options

  • Had same issue, tried to register my toyota corolla, but after filling out the details, it showed Toyota-Prius in the review nad pay section,

    • this will be fixed tomorrow morning

    • all website issues are now fixed. we do apologise for the inconvenience.

  • just about time
    thanks OP, will sign up
hope will give the best service for customer

  • Signed up, you had me at call centre in Newcastle (gotta support local!). Didn't have a great experience with Ultratune/Budget Direct (was sheethouse actually - they wanted to tow me for everything). So getting back onto the roadside assistance wagon now.

However, on the registration form, I put in my DOB and noticed afterwards that it processed as 1/1/70. I can PM you details or deal with you via email - whichever you prefer.

    • +2

yeah, that is buggy webpages where developer has used different date format on personal detail page and final page.

      • all website issues are now fixed. we do apologise for the inconvenience.

    • we do apologise about the issues with date of birth, this is being fixed

      • Hi, is this fixed yet? Just tried signing up on the website and still getting errors with date of birth… website keeps asking for year of birth even though this has been entered…

        • Hi Able, can you please email us a number to contact you on in the morning.
The issue has been fixed and we are not seeing any further issues with this, although I am interested in helping you get past this

        • please enter date of birth as dd/mm/yyyy

  • Do you get a card to keep in the car or something similar?

Also, does this cover the car, the driver, or the combination of both?

    • +2

Hi, we post out some stickers for in the car and a card to keep on you
the roadside assistance covers the car, it does not matter who is driving the car

  • +4

I tried to register but your car selection dropdown seems to not picking up what I selected. Mine is Honda Odyssey but in the confirmation page it's written ACCORD, tried a couple of times… The DOB also shows wrong MONTH in the confirmation page. Also, you need to consider use an SSL for your registration form as sensitive information (password and personal details) will be entered to the registration form.. I know I maybe paranoid, but I'll wait until those are fixed before trying to enter my details again..
