    See previous deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/227149

    116 cable ties?

    • +3

      haha love it

    • +3

      And a pop rivet.

    • +2

Ha ha, but seriously, I bet there are a hundred little screwdriver and torx head bits.

      • You're not wrong. I did a rough count of those pictured in the bottom picture.

  • Would have been better with a saw….

  • +38

Lots of tools here on OzBargain and I don't have to pay a single cent for the privilege. That's a bargain.

    • +1

But these come in a box for free.. I'm sure those aforementioned tools need to pay for the privilege.

    • +3

Here, let me tighten your nuts for you…..

  • +24

Just amazing how this once useful brand destroyed its own Long term value with cheap consumer products…

    • -1

Stanley used to be good quality. Is this set good quality? Or is it rebranded Yum Cha?

    • +1

I bought a stanley stud finder once.

It was worse than knocking and guessing. Worse.

      • +2

Most stud finders are like that. Even the fancypants Bosch ones.

    • +2

Interestingly, we use Stanley exclusively in an auto dismantling trade.
Never had anything break. And we use non-rattle bits on the rattle gun in a rush.

All tools are at least 5 years old now.
      I still rate them.

      • +1

"all tools are 5 years old now" yeah that's the old Stanley stuff. The good tools :)

        • Oh, they're still 'thin' and 'black chrome' and come in identical boxes.

If you put them next to each other, you'd never tell the difference visually.

  • +1

If anyone gets this and is missing the phillips bits for the screwdriver, let me know. I chased Stanley for them as mine were missing and they sent me replacements and a few extra for my troubles.

    • Hi mate, mine kit didn't come with the Phillips bits. How did you go about getting yours? Cheers

      • +1

Contacted SBD Inc in Australia, took a while though. Happy to mail you a set, pm me a parcel locker or po box.

  • Are they made from chrome-vanadium?

    • +1

Negative. Wouldn't be surprised if it was plastic.

  • +3

    Not chrome vanidium
    Just unoptanium

    • +7

      "unobtanium"

      • +9

        It's "unobtainium"

Anyway, both unoptanium and unobtanium are more unobtainable than unobtainium.

Gotta hate when you spell check someone, only to spell it wrong yourself!

  • i need a pair of needle nose pliers… struggling to find a decent pair for less than 10 bucks. the stanley needle nose pliers go for just under 20 bucks on their own… sooo… anyone know if i can pick this set up in W.A. tomorrow?

    • +1

I doubt that the needle nose pliers in this set are the same as the needle nose pliers that are sold separately.

    • Couldn't find it in Joondalup

  • New to the handyman scene… but will this get me most of the basic tools I'll need getting my house built (well once it's built) in terms of putting thing stogether, window treatments etc?

On another note if anyone in WA/perth based finds these in bunnings stores here for that price would love to know if it's being sold here?

  • +2

Not bad for keeping in the boot of the car.

  • Spanner set would be nice though.

  • 17 Assorted Nut Bits
    33 assorted ¼” Bits
    28 Hex Keys

How many of these bits and hex keys are essential to the tool set? Oh well, at least you are not buying cable ties.

bangmango also mentioned that this kit might not come with Philips head screw bits, so do check carefully before you buy.

Was looking for these weeks ago when they were still $49. The only store in Melbournes SE that had stock was Notting Hill and they only had 3-4. Don't expect to find much stock. It was a promotional item and no longer restocked.

    • None in the Brunswick store

  • +2

These no longer come with a Lifetime warranty and is at best, 12 months.
Please take that into consideration when purchasing :)

  • Who has bought this and has the Fine Line number - AKA Bunnings product id Number- Would be a great help awesome find .!!!!

      • +2

        • +1

        • @franco cozzo:

Grand sale, grand sale, grand sale…..?!

  • +2

    Castle hill NSW has none.
Anyone know if any Sydney stores have this ?

  • Knowing Melton these won't last long at that price, might check later on in the week when I'm up there.

  • +1

    Lipstick on a pig

  • $20 is a bargain. Still checked in at $49 at my store in Lismore, showed them the photo of the Melton store, they called a manager and approved the sale at $20. Cheers op

  • Thank you. Just got one reserved

  • been using the IKEA toolbox for ages. just bought a electric drill and all i need now is a cheap(or free) toolbox to fit them all in. ….and I still wanted this

  • Hoxton Park Sydney said they can't do the same price because Milton ark reduced the last few they had in stock.
    BS

    • I was able to get one from there, they still scan at 49, but I ask the check out chick to speak to her boss see if they can match the other stores, and they did. Bear in mind that the batch they have will not come with the Phillips drive bits

  • +1

    Victoria called,
Coburg, Craigieburn, broadmedows, melton. no stock

  • +1

Got some from Nerang in QLD. One of our employees picked up 4. Scanned for $20 and he wouldn't leave until they gave him for that price. Only a few left. Get in quick. They tried to backpedal but stand your ground, 3 bunnings employees tried to get out of it. Ask them why does it cost more at x location?

    • If it scans at $20 we should be able to just use the self checkouts right?

      • my bad. Meant to say scanned for $49

  • I found some stock in wa as follows:
    Belmont 3 item
    Elenbrook 12 item
    Whitford 3
The rest metro area has no stocks left. But the strange thing is the price even after scan in cashier is $49 not $20. Could you please if someone has the proof of purchase send it to me ad well.
    Thanks

    • Did you have any luck getting one of the WA Bunnings to price match?

      • I wish I could but No one send me the recipe of their purchase. Bunnigs said they will do price match only when I can show them the proof of purchase.

        • +2

No one send me the recipe of their purchase

Mix in some sockets, drop in one tape measure, 2 screw drivers and leave for an hour.

  • no stock in Moorabbin (VIC), a rep told me that last time they had these tool sets in the end of last year, it was on sale and didn't come in stock after…

  • +1

No stock at Sunshine, Caroline Springs and Taylors Lakes

  • Some arsewipe bought all 5 over the phone yesterday

    • Let's face it. We would all be that arsewipe if given the choice , we are out to find bargains and not let them fall into unappreciative hands. :)

      • +1

Bet that arsewipe is the unappreciative type, and will sell them off to make a small profit.

        • Or maybe he has 4 mates who wanted one each?

  • +2

Rang many stores across Sydney and none in stock in any of the stores. Was told by one store that Hoxton Park was the only store in Sydney with stock left. Rang them. Was told computer showed 7 but computer was wrong and they were all sold yesterday.

    • +2

      saves me a trip, thanks!

was told there's stock in Tuggerah, Taree and Bathurst if you're keen :P

  • +1

    None in Alexandria

  • If anyone is buying these in Melbourne can they buy one for me too? Happy to pay a service fee or maybe delivery fee via paypal.

  • no stock found

  • Anyone found any stock in Adelaide?

    • @ AussieDaddy

knew an old cow in Adelaide. (dads old girlfriend)

Don't know if you care tho ;)

      • +2

Dad's old girlfriend? Nah, will pass. But if we're talking about dad's old girlfriend's granddaughter then count me in. :)

  • It's not listed as expired but I won't go into Bunnings to look for it three weeks after it's listed.
