        • @DJ: Really? They tried calling me yesterday and today but haven't had a chance to call them back, then got the text and email from them this morning saying my order is ready for pickup.

So if they're out of the 8 packs, what the hell am I going to get when I pick it up? Haha.

        • Well finally managed to head up there and grab the order, it was as the order said 2x 8 packs. So seems they must have had some extra's out the back of something when fulfilling the online orders. Either way, happy to get them for the price!

  • +3

Turnigy LSD AAA are still $1.50 like they always are and that means almost 50% of the Eneloop price for this bargain post.

I think they're a better battery based on specifications and real life experience. YMMV.

    • Nah, eneloop easily has them covered, also you have to pay postage on them. PS: I paid $1.25 an eneloop

      • Actually I screwed up the maths by only using the first line, my mistake … but I still think Turnigy's are a better AAA.

    • Turnigys are good, but I trust 3rd gen Japanese Eneloops more. They are probably better than the current 4th gen Chinese ones.

    • What about the postage…

    • Thanks for reminding me! Jumped back on to Hobby King and found out I still had USD12 credit on there! Ended up getting 4xAAA and 6xAA Turnigy LSDs for AUD10 delivered to my door!

The Turnigy LSDs are awesome. Easily the best battery I have in my random assortment.

The postage from Hobby King works out fine if you OzBargain your order up to the top of the weight bracket. They even post the weight of each item so you can work it out beforehand.

  • Charger is out of stock at Morayfield QLD. Don't know about the other lines.

  • +6

Thanks to the (profanity) who bought 15 quick chargers from Nerang. (profanity) you, (profanity).

    • So what was he again? Oh right, a profanity.
      Profain, that profanity-er!

      • OzBargains' censoring system sure makes for some funny comments.

  • -2

My local store at Richlands, QLD has plenty and the price is just $.99 cents for a pack of 4 and there are more.
    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/60614/38765/image.jpeg

    • LOL!

    • that's a good one mate! everyone might be flogging that store =D =D =D

    • We need more humour on here.

  • Now to head down to my local masters store..

    oh wait, don't have one!

  • Does anybody know how this charger compares to something like the La Crosse BC700 that has been recommended on OzB before?

    • IMHO it is better. The BC charger can melt!!!

  • +2

    I love Masters ;)

I just got back from Heatherbrae NSW with a quick charger and 2x8 packs. Wasn't easy though, no stock n the shelves, a staff member had seen a stack of them out the back a few days ago, he went and got them. Meanwhile 3 or 4 other people turned up lookin for them. He came back with a full basket of eneloops. At the checkout they scanned at full price and the staff didn't want to sell them to me. Had them look up prices on their website, they said they were online only prices. Pointed out the website clearly says this discount is only available in store, eventually a manager agreed to mark them down, after reading through terms and conditions looking for any excuse not to sell them to me. Staff said they were going to take all remaining stock away again and not to sell them to anyone else.

Hey rep how about letting your staff know about sale prices next time….

    • +4

i had a similar experience, no wonder the business is going under

    • I had the same experience with pricing at Northlakes, Qld.

      • Hey Masters rep. I can understand running out of stock on a clearance item.
Maybe even stuffing up some online orders with floor staff not being able to pick stock fast enough
But when people go out of their way to drive to the store, only to be told , no it's an online only thing, and after specifically being ask this question this morning
It make it baiting or false advertising
Up your game or get out, like Dick Smiths

    • Yep, this happens all over the place. Why does it concern the employees and managers so much?

    • Masters look like another DSE. I got a call from the store i choose to collect my order. And funny enough the lady told me that price is not suppose for online order and is only for instore. They simply dont know what they are doing.

They simply making up reason and do not want to process the order. They told me this product is discontinued and completely out of stock and there is absolutely nothing they can do.

I dont want to waste time with them so I ask for refund and then been told I need to wait for few days to get my refund, if not, then I will need to call to the customer service to find out what is wrong.

From the rep from marketing put the deal here to the staff who work in the store, no one knows what are they do, you guys better be gone with Dicksmith together.

  • Stock at Nerang as I just collected my order:
    0 chargers
    8 x 8 packs
Around 20 of 2 pack aa
Around 20 of 2 pack aaa

  • +7

i swear ozbargain has given me some weird fetish for eneloops

  • +3

There's a bunch of AAA packs left in Northmead. They're not in the battery section but hanging in the lighting area.

    • Any chargers there? I was planning on heading out there after work today

      • +1

Staff I spoke to said they never got any of the charger packs.

And they're all sold out, except maybe the AAAs mentioned by professional.

    • +1

Was just there, none in the battery area. I was after AA

Don't bother ordering for click and collect. Ordered at 9:17 this morning only to be called and told that the order will need to be cancelled due to no stock. Poor stock management system allowing people to purchase in store whilst those that made legitimate orders miss out. This was Burnside in Victoria for the record

    • I ordered mine at 6.30 and got a text to go and pick mine up.

      • probably had the last ones

        • They were available up until maybe 30 mins ago. I ordered 5 hours ago.

    • then you're probably out of luck, I ordered mine just before 9 and managed to get the last 2 (system only allowed 2) and was able to pick up in the arvo

  • Order cancelled from northland :(

  • +2

I stopped in at Masters (Landslade) in Perth this morning to buy some.

A female Masters employee in front of me, took 20x of the 8 multi-packs (4x AA, 4x AAA) to purchase for herself, leaving 5 more which I bought.

I got the distinct feeling she would have purchased the other 5 had I not already had my hands on that section removing them.

Funny thing was she was too short to reach the two top hooks, so had another employee getting them for her, whilst mentioning that there was special on them, and they may get quite a few queries.

All that was left there was a handful of double AA & AAA packs.

Short blonde lady almost Bordened the lot.

    This was @ ~8.25am WST.

      • I know. The guy helping her asked how many do you want?

She said 10, which cleared the top section. The she asked for the row below, which was another 10. I was picking mine off the 3rd row from the side, as they had a pallet load of crap in front of the batteries blocking off direct access, so only way to get them was from the side. :)

Off they all disappeared in to the disposable masters bag.

        • +5

I suppose she's gotta make her money somehow, seeing as she might be out of a job soon.

      • -2

        Was she hot?

    • +2

Glad I got there at 8am for my 6 packs, you snooze…

      • Was the pallet parked in front of the batteries (end of isle) when you got there?

        • Yep, end isle 1, I was there for their team meeting right in front of the batteries, staff looked perplexed at me picking 2 packs, then 3, little bit of brain math, then 6, thinking this is the lowest price ever and not likely to be repeated now Dicks gone

        • @cryptos: I'm sorry for your loss :-( was it painful?

    • +4

sure they weren't for click and collect orders?

      • +3

Definitely not, as she mentioned it was for her during her conversation with the guy picking them for her.

        • So maybe she clicked when she saw me, sorry :)

    • On Gumtree they go.

    • +2

Her Ozbargain friend probably called her.

      • As mentioned above, the penny probably dropped when she saw cryptos buy his packs.

They're normally $30 each, with the shelves displaying the full price.

Seeing someone come and pickup 6 packs would have made me check on their pricing too.

    • -2

Good on her. I am sure she purchased that many just to piss you off

  • +1

I just got the last 8pack from ellenbrook (WA). Plenty of 2 and 4packs left though.

  • Only double AAA left in Joondolup store (about 40packs)

Discount only available via click&collect via web (offer not available in store.

  • -3

Frustrating experience at Masters Tingalpa this morning - I had a couple of AAA packs and was delighted to find 2 of the Quick Charger with AA packs as I particularly needed them. Got to the register and all scanned incorrectly at the full price! I showed the lady the Masters website on my phone and she called a supervisor over, who proceeded to make out he was doing me a huge favour by honouring the website price as "online specials are not necessary the same price as instore"….

Unfortunately the Masters website was no longer displaying the Quick Charger with AA 4 Pack (at all) so despite much discussion he would not honour the clearance price!
I showed him this Ozbargain post to which he replied that anyone could have posted it and it's not official.
Common Masters, if you want to use Ozbargain as a mechanism for marketing & promoting specials then make sure your supervisors know (and make sure the POS system is updated)!

So, I ended up having to leave without the charger packs that I needed and was made to feel like a problem customer in the process when in reality none of that should have occurred - the prices just should have been correct.
To really rub salt in the wounds I had to stop by the Service Desk afterwards at which time I saw the 2 charger packs being put on the counter for click & collect orders!

    • I would of asked him to call head office. Oh wait, does that even exist anymore?

      • You're right and with hindsight I should have. I did get a copy of the voided original receipt showing the incorrect prices and told them that I'd be complaining to head office but that won't help me get the batteries when the stock is all gone.

I would have pushed it further but I had my 9mth old with me and although the discussion was polite the baby picked up on the tension and started to cry. Made me feel terrible!

        • +2

Ah, tough situation with the baby. It's a good example of how far gone some managers and supervisors are from the world. His comment about Ozbargain is as ignorant as you can get. But his attitude is a reflection of the company he works for.

          Don't feel too bad :)

        • Thanks

    • +2

Unfortunately, this has happened to me in the past. Seems like some of the store managers and staff at Masters have no clue what upper management do. Either managment don't past around notices or the managers don't even bother reading them. I'd sad it's the later.

      • Yeah, it certainly seems that way. Disappointing when I've tried to support Masters for years.

  • Did a click and collect order for 2 x 8 packs around 10am. No pick up email yet, so not expecting a positive outcome.

    • Just got a call, they cancel the order.

      • Same :(

I put my order through at 8am for the Williams Landing store.

        • Same as above, argh…

      • same here…ordered one of the 8 pack and its cancelled. Got a call in the afternoon.

      • how are they going to refund you the money?

    • Yep, I'm expecting the same.

    • Yup, as expected my order is cancelled. Was told they had 50 on hand at 7am and they all were purchased just after 7am, so that's pretty much code for the staff bought them all LOL. Can't blame them when they all be without jobs soon. The person was nice about it, this promotion has probably been a major hassle for them today.

  • master is the worst company! got a miss call from an unknown number and no message, I figured it is the online order so called the Carrum Down store where I am supposed to pick up my order. I was told it is out of stock but I have to drive to the store to get the refund! It is 20k from where I live so I was going to get my mother-in-law to pick up the order for me, now I need to drive there to show proof of ID and purchase etc to get my money back, it is ridiculous! how can you manage to charge money online but unable to refund via the same way? are you hoping people just cant be bothered so pocket the money? I have complained to the store manager and now waiting for response.

    • +2

Call your bank and get a "chargeback"

    • +1

That's surprising. Masters at Gosford was able to refund me over the phone direct to credit card even though I originally paid with Paypal.

      • +1

I know…im sure that should be the common practice, but the woman on the phone keeps telling me that is the only way to refund, I have to drive there, and doesnt matter how I paid, she can give me cash….which is incorrect way of refund. I ask her to escalate the issue and spoke to manager, and got a call back from manager just now saying they can process the refund now, but the online team member has gone home so no one know how to do it, I will wait for a call tomorrow or if I want my money today I call the 13.. number myself.

It is shocking but no surprise why master is going down. We live near a master and bunnings next to each other and every time going to master is a big disappointment. A bunch of previously un-employeed people got re-employeed to provide "so called" customer service, who has no idea their products and home renovation.

It will teach me a lesson never buy anything from them anymore.

        • I was advised I would get a PayPal refund. OK. But it looks to have gone through to my bank account, and is also sitting pending as a separate transaction. They don't seem well equiped to deal with cancelled orders in the system.

        • yeh, I've dealt with this shite too. Escalating to the online support often helps (they know how to sort things out) if your prepared to wait for a couple days for a response. Yes no surprise the business is failing.

        • @paulojr: Can confirm they've deducted the money from my account, even when told the order was cancelled. It's going to be a hassle to get back I suspect. There is no sign of the refund I was promised during the phone call. These too good to be true offers always end up such a PITA.

        • @sparkles:
My suggest is raise a request / complaint via [email protected], wait a few days (if they did refund it, the transaction could take a couple days to show up) if they still insist on you wasting hours to drive there to get your money back (using the wrong refund method) I'd next email the bank to disputing the transaction, I wouldn't spend more time talking to them if the manager hasn't got a clue on the basics.

I know for absolute certainty that they can at least can do a bank transfer from customer service and can also do a refund directly to credit card if you ask them to call you and read out the card details.

        • +1

@paulojr: I won't be putting too much effort into getting it back, will give it a couple of days, then do a PayPal dispute. Anyway, what a last lovely and hassle heavy departure for Masters, crossing my fingers a Costco comes and fills your empty spot.

  • Such a tease. Picture of the charger comes up but no love @ Landsdale WA.

  • Don't need still have 40 packs of dick smith aa rechargeables in packs i got a year ago for $1 a pack of 2.

  • To the guy that bought all the Eneloop quick Charger in mornington… well done mate, I was the guy behind you..

and to this guy… good luck selling this ones…

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Panasonic-Eneloop-SMART-QUICK-CHA…

    • Could be the same guy. Didn't you ask him if he could leave just one for you?

      • Tyabb and Mornington go hand in hand… Not far at all. I got a picture of him too. He was clearly there for a mission, in and out if you know what I mean. He clearly didn't have any intention of sharing even 1! Guilty of hogging the whole thing this morning. That ebay listing as new, no suprise there. Shame on you making a profit from $10, could be the same person? Very interesting indeed! Watch out folks… 😬

        • Did you at least score some batteries?

        • +1

          @unity1:

Yes, at least I scored some batteries indeed.

    • Are they really valued at $54? What's the RRP? Just checked my emails and I paid $24.98 for my Eneloop charger from COTD.

  • +2

Hands up those who bought rechargeable batteries because they are cheap but got no idea when they're gonna use them

    • Mate just load up on torches so you have a purpose

    • Xbox one controllers!

  • Another order cancelled here. I ordered very early too.
I bet Masters just sat on their a$$ whilst people walked in snatching them off the shelves.

  • +4

So because my local was out of stock (Canberra) I called up Wagga who still had a good 40+ combo packs left. I got the sales assistant to grab me 4 combo packs and paid for postage ($12.95) to Canberra. Given the price I was willing to pay the postage, and I need some batteries!

Not sure if this was the OzBargainer thing to do, to pay for postage, or was more of a OzBargainer thing to do because of commitment to bargain??

  • So the prices in store should reflect the online price?
Some of the prices at the Ellenbrook store is not the same as online

    • +4

I was in there at lunchtime and they were $5 per twin pack and $10 for a four pack - same as online?
There were still plenty left too - all Sanyo branded.

      • No Sanyos left.
Only panasonic twin/ four packs left :(

  • +2

At Marsden Park NSW and they have no stock :(

Oh well need some weed killer anyways.

  • up-voted for price but good luck finding

  • +2

    Greetings friends!

I collected my order earlier this afternoon from Joondalup (WA) and upon getting home, realised they have given me 2x2xAAA and 2x4xAAA when my order was for 4x4xAAA.

I went back to the store to rectify this, expecting to be told I could only obtain a refund as they had sold out. To my surprise, they had 1x4xAAA remaining, probably 20x2xAAA and quite a few 4xAAA4xAA (combined) packs.

Hope this helps someone close to the store.

    Cheers!
