  • Would be nice if it was a 2.0Ah battery like the $49 reciprocating saw/multitool kit
The drill skin only is $129, the reciprocating saw skin only is $99, so makes sense a little bit that it is $20 more for this kit

  • I bought for $99.Good price.

  • its a cheap price. HOWEVER, the charger takes HOURS to charge, battery is low capacity, and the Multi-tool is junk.

So if you're happy to get a decent drill for only little jobs for $66, then go for it.

    • The longer it takes to charge, the longer the battery lasts. If you're a tradie, have several batteries so one cools whilst one charges and one is being used.

      Other tips:
      - Don't wait till they are flat before charging again.
      let them cool before charging.
      - When charging from flat, do it in a cool place or rest them before charging the last 10% as this is where the battery gets damaged, mainly due to the heat generated by this time.
      - If you want to make your Li Ion batteries last, store them at 80% charge.

      • there is a limit to the charge time rule though. It's only a matter of keeping the temperature below harmful levels. This charger is super slow so they can make it cheap, not to look after the batteries. this charge time is just not acceptable for a tradie at all, they are often complaining about one hour chargers, and raving about the super fastc chargers.

        • That's a good point. Even though the battery has 5 terminals which if in use will allow it to be 'smart-charged', this doesn't have such a charger in the box.

Unless the circuit in the tool is 'smart' the battery will only last as long as the worst cell- and that worst cell will only be lasting as long as it can given that it is doing more work than any of the others (eg overall pack life may be halved)

Just like the worst of the other cheapie tools if so.

And worse, not only are they this badly designed (knobbled), the replacement batteries are more than the tool. Evil business practice if they are this bad (designed obsolecence + designed failure).

Sold today to be thrown away tomorrow?

  • Drill & Torch Combo might be more useful.

    • Doesn't appear to be any click and collect option on this one. Is a better deal for me to as it's a 2.0 Ah battery in this one.

  • Hi guys anybody can help i am looking for more an electric screwdriver i reckon one with drill would be better.. Are the screwdriver bits included in this? Any other recommendations around same price range? Thanks.

    • Get an impact driver if you mainly want to screw things.

      Or both: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/244685

      • Oh ok thanks for that anything in a lower price range?

        • Not at the moment but i expect there will be more soon. There are a few triton kits they have heaps of stock of but not on special at the moment. Maybe wait a week and see if these come up on special as well.

        • Thanks mate!
