Wish it was 20% off everything on eBay

    • +5

Hey if we're dreaming big, why not 21%?

      • +8

        why not 21.35%?

        • +1

Whoa, hey, let's not go crazy.

          @michaelTito: How about 420% or maybe 88%? or 66%? or maybe 911%? :P

        • +3

          @Turd: Boo.

It was, but this time it ended before it started.

prices (coffee machine wise) seem higher to begin with compared to the ones in the 15% off sale.

  • Shame about the ridiculous shipping costs to WA; $25 to ship a small toaster.
But good deals to be had for people living in Eastern states.

    • for one toaster it's expensive ….. if you also include a set of pots it's better value in regards to shipping.

  • +3

Why in the world would you shop anywhere else ?!

    • +2

      Love the sarcasm

  • if i didnt hate samsonite at the moment, i'd say samsonite is pretty good at 52% off RRP

    • why the hate?

Believe it or not, he rode a scooter to Aspen with his friend to meet the love of his life. He thought her last name was Samsonite, but it was actually Swanson. He has blamed the mix-up on the luggage manufacturer ever since.

        • Be my Valentine?

I'd love to hear the lies you'd tell me for the rest of our lives

Ten o'clock in the morning… I just thought she was a raging alcoholic!

      • The wheel attachment design is poorly design. I have 5 cases (one is cabin size)firelite/cosmolite and 2 of the cases has and its wheels pulled right off. They were repaired by authorized repairer paid by the airline. But now everytime i take the cases overseas, the same wheel comes right off. Its been replaced 3 times already, even the repairer (sydney luggage centre) says that the wheels are poorly designed and they see alot of them come through.
You can also check product review with people reporting the same problems.

just imagine if a wheel or two come right off just as you are about to start your holiday, not a very plesant experience

        • At least you're getting it fixed. Usually there are enough loopholes that they rarely fix anything under warranty.

One of the most bizarre shops I've been to.

Any knife blocks worth buying as part of this?

    • +8

      yes

      • they have a set including block … $142 ….. designed in Italy, Japanese steel, so probably made in china….. problem is Japanese knives aren't sharp just due to steel (harder so holds edge longer) but they are also a different angle on the bevel / edge. But at least seems better than than designed in china, chinese steel, made in china.

  • Hi,

Anyone know how to perform a search on just Peter's store in ebay?

I used the link above and searched and it gave me all ebay results.

I then used Advanced Search for items within seller "Peter's of Kensington"…..it gave me the error One or more of the seller user IDs you entered was not found.

I know its possible but just cannot see the option….help appreciated.

cashback on cashrewards is not working for a while now. i have had heaps of problems with it during past 2months. specially through aliexpress its uselless

    • +1

It takes so long it's almost not worth it.

    • Had 3 transactions go through without problems in the last month. Just clear all history and cookies before you use start a new browser and buy your stuff. Never had anything not tracked.

      • -1

Wait til you buy something expensive.

        • Just got all my transactions cleared today about 30emails from cashrewards about my cashbacks im pretty happy now :D hope it goes like this. I have been cashrewards more than a year and earned more than $1000 in cashback no problems but just had this experience in the last 2months turned me down a bit but seems like they fixed the issue. hope it gets back to working fine from now on.

saw a rubbish bin thought yeah that looks nice

    $230??! 20% off not enough

    • A bin that is rubbish but still nice? I am confused :P

    • +1

Tell me about it!! What's so special about those bins that they have such an overinflated price(you'd think it has some sort of rubbish destruction feature)

  • +3

Anyone actually buying anything in the comments section or just complaining?

    • +1

The Aden+Anais kid's stuff is quite cheap after the 20% off!

Don't know if that will help the typical OzBargainer as the A+A stuff is quite expensive.

    • Picking up some more Le Creuset. I used a previous deal to pick up a 10pc Global knife and block set. I'm v. happy with the deal.

  • Postage is a killer, no deal for me

    • Click and Collect can occur from Peters of Kensington stores, but at $5.50 for postage it puts a dampener on things for sure.

      • +1

None here in tassie, I'm looking at $12.50 postage just for small items

        • ouch. Poor Tassie :(

        • +2

That's why you need to add 3 cast iron pan to your shopping cart as well.

  • any good buys?

    • POK is great for big ticket purchases. We have previously saved heaps on an a 6 piece knife block set

  • +3

Thanks TA, pulled the trigger on the 1.5kg Samsonite carry on for $168 delivered. I only travel with carry on these days and some budget airlines allow a max of 7kg.

May be able to get it a bit cheaper by getting a DJ gift card through Amex and price matching but it's not worth the effort for a few bucks.

    • +1

Did a short search. Could you link the one you bought? Nothing appears to be under 2.5 :(

      • +2

        Try this

It's the 72 hours model. There is also a slightly smaller and cheaper 2-wheels version I believe.

        • They do 50cm and 55cm for cabin! Postage is the killer for me though :(

    • would also like to know

    • should have asked if they can fill the suitcase it with other stuff you wanted and saved on postage ….

    • I have 2 of the 50cm Cabin Spinners, and 2 x 68cm Spinners and swear by them!

Great, light and the 50cm Cabin Spinners come with a free emergency foldable/packable duffle bag! Really good quality!

  • Do people actually shop here? I see this shop on the way to uni and it looks so darn run down.

    • It's an definitely an interesting experience

    • only for mail order ….. when you hit one of their already discounted items and you get ebay extra discount, they are hard to beat, especially if you are limited in what local retailers have …..

    • +2

Yeah it is great in there, very very big and so much stuff. I was amazed!!

    • I buy off their eBay store all the time - generally cheapest prices for kitchen stuff

  • +1

Thanks TA! Bought myself a pair of Wusthof.

  • I don't actually think the secrid wallets are good value, but haven't see them cheaper elsewhere. $80 for the white one.

  • +2

I tell you what's good - the Royal Selangor Star Wars figurines. Good price.

  • I haven't checked the items but this store had very nice prices and I bought a lot of kitchenware/pans/cake trails about 3 months ago.

  • My better half bought a lot of crockery last time they had a sale. Who knew "lunch plates" were a thing. I've no doubt she'll appreciate this too. Thanks.

For those purchasing luggage, have a look at Bagworld (http://www.bagworld.com.au/) and see if the discounted price at Peter's of Kensington works out cheaper. Bagworld has a price beat by 10% policy, so I just saved another 10% off a Samsonite Passport Wallet. :)

    • Do they beat the further 20% discounted at Peter's of Kensington by another 10%? If so, how do you do that? Call them up?

      • +1

They sure do. :) You just pop them an email at [email protected] and a salesperson will get back to you with a coupon code for the item.

  • I just bought Samsonite Luggage, this is great - 40% off RRP to begin with, add 20% eBay Code + 10% GST back when I leave Australia for my trip. Bargain.

By the way this is great:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Areaware-Money-Bank-Bank-Form…
    or:
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Areaware-Bank-Form-Fluorescen…

Too bad I've spent too much on my luggage.

They also have Waterford Lismore stuff. You know Lismore range hardly gets discounted.

    • -1

How do you claim trs on checked luggage?

      • You show them outside and they will verify it for you. I bought carry on luggage by the way this time

        • Thanks

  • Samsonite bags are cheap! cheaper than Strandbags too.

  • Anyone know if Myer will price match Samsonite's further 20% discounted price? Still got a few gift cards that I absolutely need to use. It's killing me to not have the money spent on gift card in the bank earning interest.

  • Is there some way to get combined postage for this deal?

With the postage being added on individually per item, it ends up being a lot cheaper to just buy things through their regular website (without the 20% off) rather than postage+20% off.

    • No, forget what I said. It does combine the shipping on the final checkout page.
      WOOT THANKS! :)

  • THere's no big bargains on the cookware sets. Most can be found elsewhere for the same price (after the 20% off) AND with free shipping. This is one of those times where knowing what you're looking for and how much it's worth is probably more important. POK is often like the Dick Smith of appliances.

  • +2

Better to wait until clearance instead. Else it's "POK gai" on pricing

  • Swarovski pens are cheapest with 20%.

  • Thanks TA.

Unfortunately for me, no sweet Tojiro knife deals this time around as already show as discounted (pricier than the last deal). Bugger

  • +1

I was just there earlier today, and checked out the prices on some of their items. A Victorinox bag is priced $88 in store, but it's $109 on their eBay store. So this looks like more of a marketing campaign rather than an actual sale event for me.
