    Pity I already with tpg….

      Pity I'm even with TPG

    • +1

Same. International bandwidth/speed was atrocious the last 2 days. Thinking of leaving if there's other ISP with comparable monthly quota and pricepoint.

      • +1

I'm with them as well and I'm loving my 300 kbps speed (insert sarcasm). I seriously need to change to a new internet provider.

        • +1

left tpg ages ago and never going back

why would i? from the looks of things i get better performance for half the price

        • @tonyjzx: what are you on at the moment? I'm currently on the $60 a month for unlimited data (but I don't even think I can get 100gigs because my speed is so bad). I've been trying to change for ages.

        • @tonyjzx: which one you using now?

        • +1

Does it make a differenc? I live in an area where cable is only available through telstra which is incredibly expensive and not unlimited which I require. I thought adsl2 speeds were the same regardless of provider e.g. tpg, iinet etc.

        • @tonyjzx:
Better performance at what quota per month?
Can you tell us which plan and company you're with or was it all just a boast ?

connection fee covers cash back. haha

    • Cash back covers fee

      • Cash back = connection fee

Anyone know if this also applies to Wondercom connections?

    https://www.wondercom.com.au/

  • Works with offnet connections as well, which may be handy for some. I was keen for this deal for my old girl, but it's pretty pissweak given it's 10/40 peak/offpeak, compared to MyNetFone which is 250/250, and they do service her area unlike TPG.

    • Offnet plans are so uncompetitively priced that Bigpond is often around the same price.
eg. TPG $59.99/month for 200GB + $30 landline rental from Telstra
      vs
Telstra 200GB bundle (includes line rental) - $88

Are there any ADSL2+ Offnet plans (with about 200GB) for $50 and under?

      • Not that I have seen mate. Even shit-tier Belong are overpriced for offnet.

Damn it. Just signed up this Monday.

You're within you cooling off period…

TPG internet is so awful in its service quality and customer service. The speeds I was getting were awful since my house was too far away from the exchange. I changed to faster speed cable and its an amazing difference! Unfortunately I had to pay almost an extra month's fee given TPGs requirement of 30 days notice, plus it always took over an hour wait to talk to customer service.

    Not going back again!

    • +6

I can't believe somebody upvoted you for such a stupid post.

You are saying TPG is bad because the Telstra copper line isn't good enough and is too far away from you… so you moved to cable Internet and now you swear not to go back to TPG? Even though TPG didn't even provide your physical Internet connection in the first place?

      Nice logic there.

      • +4

Actually, I was complaining more about customer service (1+ hour wait) and the restrictions with moving away from TPG (30 day notice paid). That's the main reason I wouldn't go back.

I understand ADSL technology, I know my distance from the exchange matters and I'm sure Telstra or iiNet's own service would have been the same if I was so far away from the exchange. Fortunately I did have Telstra cable available to me which does provide better speed.

Even if TPG offers their service over FTTP, I would aim to find another competitor simply due to their customer service and experience.

        • -3

You specifically said service quality in your post though.

Also clearly you haven't dealt with customer service from other companies then.

And the 30 day thing is told to you before you sign up, its not a big deal.

  • any offers for those with existing broadband plans but switching to ADSL bundles?

  • @weebok15 Unfortunately it will only apply for new customers not connection or plan changes. Sorry we couldn't help you out on that one!

        Got it! ;)

once again another example of a company not looking after it's current customers, only trying to make new customers happy.

  • +2

Nice one. Was just told by Belong that after 6 weeks waiting for a Telstra technician who didn't show I'm supposed to wait another 4 weeks. Just not sure if the same would apply with TPG. Over the phone they told me broadband was easily available at my place…

    • Belong have just given me a 6 week wait to, to say I'm p*ssed off is an understatement.

Btw. Tpg told me it would still take the standard 10-14 working days.

  • +3

    Sucks for existing tpg customers

  • I have just joined the dark side, Telstra, and will cancel my TPG in a few days. TPG is good but Telstra bundle is too attractive as my wife won't surrender the Telstra land line.

  • +2

Don't trust them. I done it last year with them but never get my money back.

  • TPG should give those existing users a $200 cashback for being such a great customer.

  • i was with tpg from last 3 years, it was good speed always and never had to call them for any issue . one month before copper line had some issue and they said honestly that they can not fix it as it is mainly with telstra issue . got 2 months money back. and moved to optus which is costly then tpg . but same issue within 2 hours of new optus service. no idea what to do and whom to complain.

    • +3

Blame the PM, as he screwed the roll-out of NBN.

    • check your phone line socket, it may be rusty.

  • TPG has been offering cashback to the middle man many years seems like they have raised it to $100,
anyway i signed up below but none of us get a the cashback as promised from this guy. or probably the same guy different username. you never know :)
