      • Yes always the cheapest items are discounted so you will need to do seperate transactions.

    • Yeah it would be the second option….I just tried it myself. So you would want to buy in couples separately for maximum profit.

Just a heads up that this deal has already started online! Just placed an order, thanks OP :) It seems that all box sets are included, no matter the price, going by this link.

  • Deal is already online.

Just a suggestion to collectors (like me):
Try and pair 19.98 Blurays together coz the lower price is free.
Also in 2 for $20 + 20% most of them work out to be cheaper. around $7.5 -$8 each. Hence pair the ones 19.98 and above (newer titles) to make that $10 each worth the spend.

Many of the blurays are $10ish at ebay delivered as it is. Stay away from those titles as you can buy them for $10 anyday…or even lower most of the times

So i listed a couple of things i was after yesterday and i noticed this today:

Monty Python Trilogy $24.98 (NOW $29.98)
    Vikings 1-3 $99.98 (NOW $119)
Deadwood complete seasons $49.98 (NOW $59.98)
    Ant Man $34.98 (NOW $44.98)

I know it makes sense for the prices to be RRP when they doing 2 4 1 but still…

also if you can avoid placing order online i would… last time i placed a BR order online.. took almost a month to arrive. Their online department is AWFUL!

    • +4

Yes there MARVEL prices are silly
I ordered 2 Marvel titles from Zavvi.com for $35 as they have a marvel deal running at the moment

So if you are after Antman u might be able to find another marvel title to pair it up with

      anyway good luck

      http://www.zavvi.com/offers/marvel-multi-buy.list?facetFilte…

    • That's interesting…sneaky bastards! Good you took note on historical prices on the items you wanted. I should do the same and then when the time comes to actually buying it, I would know if the price has come up or down from when I first recorded the price and then justify if it's worth it or not or wait….

  • Got myself Creed and Spectre (Steelbook)
For about $16 each. So happy with that.

  • +2

Excludes Pre-Orders, Devices & Blank Media

Bugger. No Deadpool/Zootopia deal for me!

  • +1

meh…$1.69 delivery for every title kinda sucks balls. wasn't it like $1 not long ago ?
and almost none available for local pick up :(
so not so good for buying lots of individual movies…turned 50% savings into about 25%.
which is still not bad but not enough to make me buy stuff I don't realllly want.
might pop down to local store if I cbf, but no massive online order like I planned.
soz no "take my money" JBhifi, money staying in my pocket.

    • +2

Aus post increased their prices, so jb Hifi did as well

      • +4

Yes, but it makes no sense charging delivery per title. Most place charges a flat fee and offer free shipping when you reach a minimum spend.

        • +1

Yeah I do agree with there.

        • Yeah but think about it like this, most places that charge a flat or standard fee for postage are charging anywhere from $6 - $10. If you only order a few items the JB method makes more sense.

    • …yeah I remembered it was $1 too……also notice some box-sets want $6 postage….

  • Is the Planet Earth complete collection the same as the BBC Earth Collection? Or are they two completely seperate docos?

    • Different. Planet Earth is its own series. BBC Earth contains 3 Attenborough docos (Life, Frozen Planet, Life Story).

what's the chance a 20% off deal will come along this weekend?

    • +2

0% for it. The deal just finished last week.

  • The 3D Bluray seem to have gone up in price

    • Yeah, $50 for a Marvel 3D bluray is insane. They were around $24 each when there was a specific Marvel sale + 20% off.

    • Price for The Good Dinosaur at $45 is insane. I wanted to pick that up with The Martian I had returned on special for $26, which is now $33. So two for $45 is still cheaper, but The Good Dinosaur 3D really should be closer to $40 when Target has it for $35…

      • Kale, if Samsung then says they wonder why their profit is slipping I will quietly smile. This rules out buying a Samsung in the future for me.

        • Agreed. LG 4k tvs look the best for me - passive 3D which I much prefer, with no resolution loss when watching 3D blurays.

  • +1

Pretty good, however some are literally almost double the price of elsewhere to begin with. They have definitely jacked up the price of some.

  • If u buy 2 $100 sets and 2 $15 movies do they pair the cheap and expensive together?

    • Add them to your cart and see!

    • As others have mentioned the 2 cheapest of the 4 items will be free. You need to do two separate transactions to get $100 and $15 free.

  • I've held back buying the Avengers Phase One movies. Finally with this, it has met my budget. ($12-$14/movie)
Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Captain America, Thor and Hulk.

  • +3

Ended up finding the movies I wanted cheaper elsewhere, not the best sale this one with all the jacked up prices.

  • +1

Two copies of Napolean Dynamite for the price of one?!

    • +1

Actually to be fair he has 3k feedback and only sells blu-rays.

      • -1

So that makes it okay to broden?

    • this collection, which includes space for the upcoming The X-Files Event Series in 2016, is a must-have for any fan of the truth!

      Wow free space!

Go in-store and better out of peak time.

Just went in and they were more than happy to put through the blurays in separate transactions (bought 20+ so over 10 transactions)

    BUY HBO AND SAVE
    - Spend over 60$ and get 20$ voucher.
    — ie 120$ worth of hbo for 60$ (rounds up so 59.98 sufficient even on credit)
    — then go back a day later and get more hbo and use 20$ off (confirmed that if get say 2x 25$ series then would only pay 5$ after coupon!!)

(Excellent for those wanting GOT or true detective for example)

    • Is that for all JB stores?

    • good call I got 2xGoT 1-5 for $139, then my buddy bought one for $100 so I get the box set and a $20 voucher for $40.

I spend the voucher on Breaking bad complete set 1-6 for $55

      1. Make sure you have a Blu-ray player (DVD player won't play Blu-ray discs).
      2. Take the shrink wrap off, open the case and take the disc out. Otherwise, it won't fit in the player.
      3. If you already know the above, don't brag about low bit-rate downloads or streaming. They are not better.

HAHA Max Power, classic. do you work in retail? i have literally had customers this stupid before come back in to complain when i used to work in IT. one guy ranted and raved his head off about his new computer not working, slapped it down on the counter and demanded his money back so in front of him we unboxed it, plugged it all in, turned the monitor on and happily watched the computer boot up and work perfectly… we were happy to give that dumbarse his money back and never have to hear from him again.

Some people are like robots. Miss one instruction and watch them spin on the spot with flailing arms.

        • Thanks for your help Max..

Both the BluRay player and the TV have a plug with 3 pins. They appear to fit the plug on my wall. Which one do I need to plug in?

        • +3

@Roary: There's a reason why most forks have 4 tines and power outlets have 3 sockets.

Bought Max Max Fury Road at 19.98
Then got a special double pack of
X Men First Class & Days of Future Past for 19.98

    So three movies for $19.98

    SCORE!

  • Inside out and Ultron both 3D seems pretty decent for $25 each?

  • +5

Just bought GOT Boxset (1-5) and The Wire Boxset for $134!

    • I only recently bought all the GoT seasons and I would have saved around $70 with this sale. Oh well!

    • +1

and….with the $20 coupon I received, bought the new star wars movie ($10) and True Detectives season 1 (for free!)

  • bought the force awakens (star wars) and spectre (007) steelbook today… sticker price for spectre said $34.98 but scans at $29.98!

  • +1

Archer season 2-5 @ $19.98 each. Originally $41.98. With discount. 4 seasons at $10 each is good value.

  • I really thought I'd be all over this sale but I already have most of the good stuff I want…I'm almost forcing myself to spend cash on marginal titles.

How many titles do I 'need' to own permanently? The ones that I can re watch anytime I already own….very hard to make ad hoc purchase here.

The best value is certainly the TV box sets followed by the (overpriced) 3D titles.

  • I got Jurassic Park Ultimate and Daniel Craig Bonds for $63. App $8 per movie. i also have two recently releases Spectre and Jurassic World. Very happy.

  • +1

    Wewhew!
Just got X files complete collection and star trek next generation complete series.
6% off jbhifi gift card at smartdiscounts so $329 for 350 voucher, +6.68 shipping

thats $335.68 for 98 blu ray disks
    thats $3.42 a disk!!

  • Thanks for this, got 6 anime bluray packs for total $150, amazing price for that many full shows

  • +2

Have to say, I'm surprised by how poor this sale is by JB hifi standards. I'm not saying you can't get a good deal, but as someone pointed out, they've increased their prices for the sale and often you can combine two offers, lets say a 'buy two get one free' and a 20% off, which works out being cheaper than this deal.

I think if you're after a box set, it's great (for example two people can get a set of The Hobbit 3D extended edition box sets for just over $50 each), if you're after individual films you're better off waiting.

    • The Hobbit is $70 actually.

For some boxset, it would be cheaper if you buy individually. and do not check online only, for example, Die Hard complete bluray is $40 on website, but it is only $30 instore. I combined to Back To The Future Trilogy to make them cheap as chips.

      • No and no.

The Hobbit 3D bluray extended trilogy is $115 - if two people bought them, it works out to be $57.50 each.

Also if you bought all three separately it would be $40, $43, and $43 for films 1, 2, and 3 respectively. With the BOGOF that brings it down to $83 at its cheapest, thus better to have two people but the box sets.

        • +1

Also the 3D extended trilogy box set itself is really nice and matches the LOTR extended boxset.

    • I agree. I was looking at getting the Transformers blu-ray set and something else for $54. However I found the first 3 in a bluray set brand new on eBay for $14 shipped. Way cheaper this way.

  • Crimson peak and godzilla 3d for $20, pretty happy with that

  • Thanks OP!

Picked up the following 8 Blu-rays for a total of $147:

Game of Thrones - Season 1 (Steelbook)
Game of Thrones - Season 2 (Steelbook)
    The Avengers 3D
    Avengers: Age of Ultron 3D
    Guardians of the Galaxy 3D
    The Amazing Spider-Man 2 3D
    Thor 3D
    Monsters, Inc. 3D

Altogether it made them $18.38 each, which is the cheapest I've seen any of them. I especially recommend the GOT steelbooks! I had planned to purchase the complete series boxset once the series was finished, but couldn't resist the current cheap price ($35 for 2) on the pretty limited steelbooks (which usually retail for $70 each!). :)

Now I have to wait 6 months+ after Seasons 3 & 4 are released next month for them to go on sale. XD

    • Yeah I like your style but now you've committed to buying all the GoT steelbooks which will get expensive :P

      • I'll only buy them on sale though, so hopefully I can get the rest for ~$20 each too, making 8 seasons = ~$160. I'm cool with that for the "premium" of steelbooks. :)

  • +1

They jacked up the price for some blu-rays

    example:
Cinderella (2015) - Bought my copy a few months ago for $15.95 (+20% off, + buy 2 get 1 free), now its listed for $44.95
Guardian of the Galaxy - Previously 2 for $30 range, now $44.95

Check the price before going crazy buying

    • +1

You mean a previous special ended.

  • Bought Season 5 of Game of Thrones (with the Jon Snow figure), Band of Brothers and The Pacific for $60 and got the $20 coupon. Not a bad deal!

  • -2

They are dodgy, tried to match most expensive with cheapest at the counter. Yeah, no.

    • +2

That was clearly stated in the conditions
      Lowest priced item free.

have seen comments of some stores doing multiple transactions to pair up same priced items

    • +2

Why didnt you just ask to put them in separate transactions?
Their system is doing it automatically.

      • Yeah, I did. But I still wonder how many people didn't realise and just paid

  • I didn't realize the $20 off blu-ray/dvd code would not work until the following day of purchase. I factored it into my second BOGOF Purchase, if anyone is interested I would be willing to sell my code. I will set-up a classified add for it when I get a chance.
