Thank you! Got the code instantly!
Another 6 mths free. My current free 6mth is coming to an end next mth.
    Thx OP!
Kids can continue watching cartoons now for another 6 mths.

  • Are these codes stackable? i.e send presto to the number four times get four codes / two years

    • Looks like you can only apply 1 code each time i.e. 6 Months, and it cannot be used after 31 July 2016, so the answer is "No" it is not stackable.

      • -1

@bruc3 Ok, but would you be able to keep these codes and after the other one has expired, you could add the next one?

        • +1

If you read the OP, it says "the code you receive is valid for use until 31 July 2016."

So once again, I dont think you can use it since by the time the first 6 Months expires, your codes will no longer be valid.

        • @bruc3: Ah, didn't see that bit. Thanks bruc3.

        • +1

          @bruc3:

You can pause free accounts for a few months though, so could in theory setup two… and pause 1 for now i guess…

Though I have had 100% free access since March 2015 now so it might just continue like this….

  • I can input the code and get the $0 for 6 months offer, but when I click subscribe I get an error message.
"Uh-oh! Presto has encountered a bit of a glitch. We are working hard to fix it, so you can try again in a few minutes or come back later."

    • Same… Are they aware of the ozbargainers??

  • Question:
Where do I insert the code as I'm already using Presto in my last free month?
Update- answered above! Duh! Still a few more days till the 1mth expiry.

  • I enter sms code and it comes back saying enter pin, so I do that and it goes OOPS!!! I have the correct pin

    • +1

Go to the Settings - Account Details page and from there click Edit Presto Account Pin. You will be able to change the PIN using your Presto login password. I had the same issue…

  • i signed up last time for 6 months an I never used it once. A mate checked it out while he was over but besides that it went unused.

  • Nevermind…

  • How do you view it? Seems WDLive is missing in supported apps. Do I need to buy new device? First playing on computer and then streaming via chromecast seems like a hassle. there isn't an app like netflix?

  • ok I got it working, I wish they gave you a date when you subscriptions ends rather then saying 6 months free

    • +2

Click 'pause subscription' and on the confirmation dialog it will give you the date when your subscription expires

      • Thanks
Strange I just entered my SMS code and it said success but when I did the check date it came back saying 7/6/16 which is the next billing date of $0.00

        • Ah you're right sorry, mine says the same. Must only give you the rest of the month if you cancel or something like that.

  • Is presto HD?

    • -1

      I don't think so

    • They say HD for premium service.

    • +2

Yes - apparently on every device except desktop web browsers…

      • Sucks for me, because I only watch it from desktop web browsers zzz….

        • Yeah same here. It is coming… at some point. Quite annoying, but it's free!

  • No paypal zzz

  • Received and signed up with the 3 month code. Just trying to work out where I apply the 6 months code (not now but just trying to work out where to do it)

  • +1

I subscribed for six months free on 20/2/2016. So on 21/7/2016 I'll be in my last month. Do you reckon I need to enter my code between 21/7/2016 and 31/7/2016 or do you think I can enter it anytime in July 2016. I could possibly be overseas. And I think they won't let you do anything if you are not actually in oz.

    Thanks OP

  • I got the code within about 15 seconds (optus mobile). However there isnt a box under my existing account where I can enter a promo code. I have contacted support to find out where it might be?

  • +1

No ones worried about them selling their mobile numbers and getting telemarketer calls forever?

Or do you have tons of fake numbers or some other solution?

    • -1

seems to be legit telstra. Pretty sure it's illegal for them to use the number other than for the purposes they collected it.

    • I am on the optus network but have a telstra sim to buy play store stuff at 50% off. So for any deals or promos etc where you need a number, I use that sim. Might be worth getting one of these throw away sims if you're concerned about marketing calls. I just keep that sim in an old phone, only gets turned on when I need to buy something or to get a code like tonight. ;)

  • Good timing, thanks OP!

  • +1

When I try to put the 3 month free code in I just get an error message:
"Uh-oh! Presto has encountered a bit of a glitch
We are working hard to fix it, so you can try again in a few minutes or come back a bit later.

    v-fd19843e-15b0-11e6-b8bd-22000af30231"

    • experience the same error message.

    • same error here, did you get it fixed eventually?

      • +1

Found the issue. Your credit card details are invalid.

Make sure you use a valid credit card details unde Billing.

        • Thanks, yes that worked :-)

  • Got the code, registered. THANK YOU

Just started watching on my Samsung and it keeps freezing and losing sound. I definitely wouldn't pay for it.

  • +3

Joined up for last "free" trial, only to find useless for Android and Apple tv… Forgot to toggle unsusbscribe, and got slugged for two months at fifteen bucks before I realised they'd charged me for a service I never used. They don't send you invoices or reminders.
I sent them an email (because you can't ring them) and got some bullshit story about reading the fine print.

I don't have a single good word to say about them.

    • why is it useless? not compatible, glitchy or something else?

  • People actually like Presto?

    • For free maybe. I though stan was a joke until I used the 3 month trial.
So much Star trek, 11/22/63, Better call saul and a good amount of movies of interest.

    • +1

      whens its free. yes

  • +1

    Why not support Apple TV?

  • +1

Has any OzBargainer ever paid for Presto or Stan? I have it for free for almost a year now and I can count on fingers the movies and TV shows I watched on Presto.

  • how do you unlock r18+ content the buttons is locked for some reason?

    • -1

You can't on a free trial, I think.

    • Unlocking just means you don't need a pin to access that content. You always need a pin for R18 content so you can't unlock it

      • yeah i worked out you need to put in the pin if you wanted to watch r18

        • but there's no such movie in presto that classified r18

        • @brongz: there is a few horror movies that are

  • Thanks. My reply with code was instantaneous.

  • Still no subtitles :-(

    • Seriously? What a load of crap then! Too bad if you're deaf or don't want to turn up the sound, or if you find some accents and mumbling incomprehensible.

  • Received the Telstra sms with the long code for 6 months trial. Do I enter this when getting close to the end of the 3 month initial period? And where do I enter it?

  • Got a reply in 30 seconds. The text says its from Telstra. If you are on a different network, that might be the reason for the delay?

  • Just want to share - I actually paying customer $14.99 a month, but the code from sms works and now got 6 month free again. So, thanks OP !!
    (got the text almost immediately)

  • Thanks for this. I had paused my account last week, two days prior to being charged to keep using it. I have been taught well, thank you ozbargain! (So obviously, this code works on paused accounts too!).

  • I get an error:

"Sorry, no phone number was found. Please try again with the customers phone number in the message body"

    Any ideas?

    • Do you hide your mobile number (no caller ID)?
I guess they want you to put your mobile number inside the text message, because they don't know what it is.

  • Presto is meh

  • +1

Presto works fine in web browsers on windows. However I'd recommend a graphics card, using a GT710 (around $65) and it's perfect - smooth 1080p. Output to your tv with an hdmi cable, and you're done. By the way it has better resolution than Foxtel GO. Many movies are 4-5gb, Foxtel GO uses lower bandwidth.

    • You must be mistaken, Presto HD does not work from computer, unless you output via Chromecast or something similar.

  • Be careful with this.very easy to forget to cancel after 6 months, then they start charging.

    • Calendar reminder FTW

  • I have a rooted Android device and the app doesnt work for me :(

Tried 'Hide My Root' from the Play Store and it still doesnt work.

    Any ideas?

    • +6

      Unfortunately you are rooted.

      • Haha

    • is this often the case with apps from the Play store? been tempted to root my phone also…

  • I signed up last time the 6month free deal was here, problem is my New Samsung J6200 isn't compatible with Presto App, it works but CANT ADJUST VOLUME AT ALL.
Whatever the volume was when you start Presto will be the volume during using the App.
Emailed their CS, said compatibility issues.

  • +1

    You're a LEGEND OP!

Just got me another 6 sweet months on top of the previous 6 months I got in the previous promo.

That makes it a full year on Presto without paying them a single cent.

Now off to binge on "The Americans". See ya's later :)

  • soo i got the code where do i enter it?

  • Tangle is a great series. For writers, actors, and directors, it gives fantastic case study of subtext.

  • Nice

While this may be a deal to some I found the quality of streaming on presto so low (480p) that I already cancelled my account. Even free, not worth it IMO.

    • +1

There is plenty of HD content, try and look past Home & Away.

      • +1

I was watching Fury and if you cant get Full HD on a desktop, the service is junk. Besides Between Netflix (4k res) Stan (1080P), Presto doesn't even stand a chance, they have a limited selection of movies along with horrible quality, also, Do you really want them to have your credit card 9 months down the track when you forget and get billed?

        • +1

          That's what calendars and/or diaries are for…

        • +6

@PinzVidz: This service isn't worth the the 2 seconds it takes to write it down.

        • +1

@LittleMIssPanda: It's free! What more do you want?

        • @bargain_knight: Something above 480P on a desktop screen, also just to clarify to all you downvoters I'm just stating my opinion that with the quality issues and other downfalls of the service that I wont be using it, I'm not telling you that you can't or shouldn't.

        • +2

@LittleMIssPanda: I've watched Fury and it was well above 480p. I'd blame your internet connection. It adjusts the quality based on bandwidth and ability to buffer the stream

        • @cytotoxic: That could be it, But I have no problem instantly loading 1080P on Netflix.

        • +2

@cytotoxic: i'm on a constant 100/40 connection and it takes minutes just to get the player to load. =[[[[[[[[[[[[[

Cant believe that people negging the free deals. They have HD content as well now. Check first and then post.

    • Video quality isn't all there is. They actually have a very good selection of shows, such as the sopranos, six feet under, parks and recreation which I don't believe you can get elsewhere.

  • +1

I hope presto puts as much effort into their issues as they put into their freebie codes.

  • Cheers for the deal

  • So cool, very happy, thank you!

  • +2

    Ty op, method/code worked.

But (profanity) me dead if the presto site isn't slow as shit.

  • I tried to resist lol
