    When it comes to the differences between the different versions, is there actually any differences in the main suction unit? Is the suction technology or wattage different? Or is it just the attachments/accessories/cleaner heads included that are different?

      Nope. Only difference is the attachments in the box and the Absolute has the HEPA filter

    I've V6 animal and has been the best buy for our household. For those who are sitting on a fence and waiting to push the button but unsure….a new model v8 should be coming to Australia soon with twice the operating time (around 40 mins) along with few other improvements. It may retail around 800-900 aud. It is already released in Uk….so google if you want to know more.

    Edit - I'm not suggesting to buy the 800-900dollar vaccum but rather wait for some deal to come for that and also it may drive v6 price slightly lower

        Totally agree and i did point out saying I'm not suggesting to buy the 800-900 dollar vaccum but rather wait for some deal to come for that and also it may drive v6 price slightly lower

      This v6 deal is very tempting but the v8 is compelling. Ideally the battery life on the v6 needs to be better, then it would probably replace my barrel vacuum cleaner. Does anyone know if the battery in the v8 will fit the v6? Maybe I could get this then later upgrade the battery?

    I successfully cancelled my first v6 order at the old price and just now placed a new order at the new price.
    I called up Alexandria Good Guys and they let me know they can't refund the difference but they can cancel the order and refund the money for me, so I went with that.
    Just call them up if you've ordered at the old price.

        I called them up yesterday, and they were happy for me to return the original one and re-order.
        So I re-ordered yesterday afternoon, and brought the original in after work.
        However they have had so many orders yesterday, the new order/payment details has not yet showed up in their system, so I couldn't walk away with the same item.
        Will have to go in and pick it up again after I receive the sms/email.
        They also assured that the stock level was fine.

      I have serious respiratory problems due to allergens so it was a no-brainer for me getting the Absolute as you get the HEPA filter + a whole host of attachments. Picked it up on the way to my Dad's house for dinner, OMG the amount of pet hair and dust it picked up on the first going over of the carpet was as unbelievable as it was disgusting, and this was AFTER going over the carpet with the regular vacuum. Very happy with the Absolute can't recommend highly enough!

    Seeing so many recommendations I decided to buy one of these. Before reading the discount conditions very carefully, I left Ebay set for $12 delivery fee and entered my work address so that someone would be there to sign for it. Entered the COLLECT code and got the 20% discount. Later I noticed that the discount was only supposed to apply if you "buy on Ebay and pickup instore at selected retailers"! So I quickly checked the paypal debit on my credit card and I seemed to have got the discount despite having opted to have it delivered. Also reading the T&Cs at http://pages2.ebay.com.au/Buyer_coupons/collect makes no mention of having to pickup instore. So I am guessing the "pickup instore" bit is not a real requirement?

        It's the new model which will replace the V6. It's on the Dyson UK site. Looks like they have simplified the models for the V8, now having just two: Absolute and Animal.

      As I pointed out earlier - you don't need to pick a store. Simply have it delivered to your home address. Mine was delivered today and so far I am delighted with it.
