Woolworths Mobile $30 Prepaid Starter Kit for $1 in-Store with Woolworths Rewards Card or $3 Delivered Online

3890

Guys

Looks like Woolworths mobile fixed their system issues and it's now our task to test it.

Same as previous deal. Just that there is a limit of 1 pack per customer instead of 2.

update 9/6: seems Woolworths Rewards card now required in-store with limit of one per account

Update 11:25am: snappy1234 has reported the $1 sim card being available in store also. Check with your local store.

EDIT:
I have cancelled all the 4 orders($12) I placed early this morning via online chat.

Can confirm that it is $1 in store as well (Town Hall, Sydney).
Expiry date on the pack is 01/08/2017.

Limit of 5 per customer.

Proof: https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/137114/40038/img-20160…

I managed to get 9 (went twice and luckily, the guy who served me initially was not there in the counter)

        • all good

      • Haha we hate you for letting us know!

        • somethings are best left unshared

        • @whypaymo: I'm kidding… well I didn't neg you so I'm just speculating. Personally I love you for letting us know.
Classic case of "don't shoot the messenger" lol

        • My own personal rule is always shoot the messenger, then ask questions later. It's served me well. Got me this nice cosy prison cell and everything.

          Edit: I'm kidding.

          Edit: …or am I?

Well, end up cancelling my 2 sims online as I got 5 sims from local Woolies. Now just need to wait for my $6 to come back to my CC, lol.

  • got 4 in carnegie store:) great for parents come from overseas

    • any left?

  • CAncelled online order of 1 sim and bought 10 from Mornington…$10 for a 10 months…life is good….

Bourke Street & Southern Cross both sold out. Just checked few mins ago. Looks like some staff are keeping it for themselves. When I inquired with Southern Cross Woolies, the girl started laughing and told me they sold out. But looked like she kept few for herself.

    • Yes, when i asked for more than one gal at counter said sold out but i could see few more in their drawers….

      • Did you went to Southern Cross or Bourke Street?

        • Both….Bourke were already sold out…Southern cross - i got one but could see few more in their drawer…..

        • @pyramid: I can't understand why are they doing like that. So, the girl lied to me that they are already sold out.

      • Well apparently you got 10, which is technically double the limit of 5. So if they told you that to try and get you to bugger off I wouldn't really blame them.

        • Its two different stores…the one where they were sold out was southern cross and one where i bought 10 was from Mornington….probably 70-80km apart….

        • @pyramid: Mate, you already got 10 and still hunting for more :)

        • -1

@BuddySaysHi: Yes…need to stock up for whole year if i can for me and wifey..

        • @pyramid: Well said buddy. They are never enough, after all we should follow OzBargained way..LOL

  • Got 5 at my local. Remember to look carefully, my local stuck a bunch (with blue tack) on display, inside near the customer service counter.

  • did anyone get an email confirmation of their order? I didn't seem to get one (checked spam folders too)

    • I did get them - ordered in morning.

    • I never got one either.

  • Sold out online

  • The manager at my local store told me that once purchased, the credit starts right away and so there's no point in buying more than one. Said the expiry date doesn't matter, even if I don't activate it right away the credit will already start. Did anyone else hear this?

    • +9

Totally BS. There is no way for Woolies to know which sim card sold on which date, all have the same barcode.

      • agree with u , I bought five and the stuff keep scan the first sim five times.

    • +1

That sounds like bs don't see how you would be using credit if it hadn't been activated.

      • Yeah, that's what I said, but she was adamant that the expiry date referred to how long they could sell it, and at most I had two months to use the sims, not sure where she was getting this from…But it did take me by surprise

        • +5

Lmao she clearly has nfi about prepaid sims.

    • +1

      I call BS

    • +8

That's why s/he just ended up being a manager at Woolies :)

  • whole heap left at leichhardt 2040. Ask behind the counter.

  • Got a few at my local Woolworths. The staff didn't seem to know it was on sale though.

  • Bought 5 plenty at Oakleigh store.

  • What network does Woolworths prepaid use? Telstra or Vodafone?

  • Got 6 at newmarket woolies vic :)

  • Just purchased 6; 3 for self and 3 for my partener. Staff at Woolworth purchased the last 4 they had as mine was being put thru. Staff said they all have the same barcode; scanned 1 and put on X 6. Do not understand how that Manager can stay they are activated when sold - absolute nonsense.

Went to my local which didn't have any in stock and the girl offered me a rain check so I ended up getting a rain check for 10😀

  • went to woolworths @ glen Waverley and wheelers hill, both sold out.

    • Try Oakleigh

      • Sold out in Oakleigh, I bought five, 3 left, then another guy bought them all.

        I'm unsure if they'll restock.

  • Went to woolies cabramatta, the girl said inly one per customer, read the website again and confirm she is right, damn

    • Lol..you shouldve gone to the self service counter..by the way, got another 4 from moonee ponds woolies.

      • My local only had them at the service desk so you had to buy them there ~ lucky for me the lady said there was a limit of 6 :)

      • Well i dont see any for self service, all of then either in the drawer or behind the counter, but put some more effort and go to other store, they gave me another 5. Look like the gentleman had no idea about this promotion, he looked pretty surprise after scanning as well

    • Oh, well I just bought 10 at my local Woollies!

      • Give it a go at other one, maybe?

    • Same here. My local store only gave me one

  • This does work on the Vodafone Pocket Wifi, I am posting this comment with my new Woollies connection.

    • I've got an old Vodafone Pocket Wifi, but it's locked to the Vodafone network. Is your's unlocked?

      • Vodafone Pocket Wifi should not be locked, may you are just dont know how to set API on the device? google your model with how to set API and search Woolworths Moblie API.

  • +1

    None in belmont wa

    • Cheers, saved a trip

  • Will these work in a locked Telstra WiFi advanced hotspot thingie?

    • Not a locked one. You'll have to unlock it first

  • None in mascot, nsw!

    • -4

Sorry, because I cleaned all 12 packs at 5:30pm

      • Lol you bastard. Ok thanks for letting me know.

  • -6

Huge thanks to OP and whoever advised that they were selling them direct at woolies. Glad I came back into the thread to check. Got 20 across 2 stores.

  • Thanks OP, got 5 from my local.

  • +1

    Nice!
    5 cheap Uber rides.

    • How?

      • +1

all you need to sign up to new uber account and get $10 refferal bonus is a new phone number and email, don't need a new CC

        • any links to this deal please ?

        • Or reffer your new phone#/email from your normal Uber account attached to your normal phone#, and get the referral credit plus new sign up credit. $10 credit to use on your normal account + $10 credit to use on your new account.

You'd probably get blocked if you kept doing it, so maybe don't, up to you.

        • dont you need a new CC? Tried last year to sign up multiple but couldnt because of this

        • @shapers: Not in my experience, but I think I might have used PayPal.

  • doent seem to be in stock online again. called a few stores none of them have the $30 starter pack in stock.
what about woolies petrol stores are they the same price?
anyone try ordering them online with groceries and click and collect?

  • Not available anymore:-(

  • Bought 8 from moorebank nsw. Staff was shocked it scan $1 hahaha

  • Got 4 from woolies south fremantle. Not sure about stock since she took it from the drawer. But she was shocked when it scanned as $1 and asked around whether it's correct. In the end the manager told her it is the correct price. Doesn't seem to have a limit since the guy behind me bought 10 after hearing its $1.

    • Oh and expiry also 01/08/2017

    • +1

No doubt a fellow ozbargainer, most likely Broden.

  • Thanks OP!
Bought 1 from Scoresby VIC (staff told me just 1 per customer!), Exp date: 1/8/17
Bought 3 from Bayswater VIC (they didn't care about any limit, and it already had "better than half price" tag on it), Exp date: 1/8/17
Both stores had more stocks yet(at 5pm)

  • Ordered 1 sim with $2 shipping for a total of $3 from the website and bought 5 for a dollar each from Woolies New St. Nerang 4211. Limit of 5 instore.

  • +1

I bought two from Woolworths Ararat, no questions asked on quantity, but i just needed two.

  • What's the point for getting multiple Sims? If all have to be active in June? Other than reselling.

    • +1

They dont have to be activated in by June, mine have an expiry of December next year

      • Ok. Now I get it.

    • +2

Activate in June for double data, otherwise expiry next year.

  • Can this be rain checked?

    • +3

Don't think telcos can be rain checked

    • Tried at Town Hall. No raincheck available.

    • yes, although they are only 4wks now - i still have a 12mth $1 one from last year :)

  • brought 9 (5 +3 + 1) across 3 stores

  • Does anyone in VIC know which Woolworths has the packs which expire in December 2017?

    If there are any left….?

    • Got 3 at Ocean Grove late this afternoon. Dec '17 expiry. Didn't see how many were left as they were hidden away!

      • Thanks mate. That's like across the bay from me haha…..:)

        • +2

Not an ideal nite for boating either :-)

  • I bought 4 and Woolworth staff only scanned the first one 4 times. I was wondering how credit was added to each sim? With Amaysim or Vodafone, they have to be scanned individually to add credit.

    • +1

They are not like gift cards they have the credit already loaded. That is why they don't keep them on the shelves.

  • Would I be able to Port from telstra prepaid quickly to this?

    • You may have issues porting from telstra to basically telstra but i could be wrong

      • When you say issues you mean longer porting time or not possible at all?

        • I personally wouldn't risk it but from this comment it looks like it is okay to do. I have never been brave enough to try
