Can we have a better idea of delivery prices here, rather than getting this message on your website:

Discount codes or Delivery charges will be applied on the Confirmation page, once we return you from PayPal to pick up your delivery address

  • its saying $22 shipping to VIC, but what is the shipping method and how far is it travelling? it says its "delivered chilled", but how?

EDIT OK see above. looks like meats back on the menu boys!

    • We courier all meats refrigerated with ice packs - everything is kept nice and cool!

They charged me $12 delivery and i'm located in south west sydney, NSW. It came in a big esky filled with ice, lasted all day as was delivered to me about 9:30am but got home at about 5pm and no ice had melted really, it was still all cold.

    • can you comment on the quality of the meats?

      • +1

        Hi Ash,

The meat is fantastic. I ordered a winter warmer pack a couple of weeks back and was extremely happy with the quality. I got beef cheeks that were the size of my entire hand with no grizzly bits! The steaks have been tender and the diced beef was also soft once cooked in my stir fry. Also there is no colouring added to the meat to make it look 'red & pretty' and no water either, so that was also important to me.
        Hope this helps :)

I'm not saying its quite the same as your local supermarket quality, but it sure seems the same price (or higher) with the discount… am I wrong?

Edit: do you keep the esky.. if so, maybe it's a deal?

  • +2

You are paying for the quality of the meat, it's Grass fed black angus, to me it seems like a great price :)

It really does despair me that as a human race we have come down to advertising that the cow was grass fed. It's as if grass is some luxury meal not it's natural staple diet :(

      • +5

Well they all eat grass but normal practice is they feed them grain to fatten them up just before they get the bolt. Then you can pay more for ones they have on the grain longer… you know "100 day grain feed beef" just gets them fatter so to improve the flavour 'cos we all know the fat has the flavour…. yum yum… I love being at the top of the food chain.

Pfft. Come for a swim in WA's ocean. See how long you stay at the top of the food chain.

          @furiousgeorge:

Nah… ill go down to my local fish n chip shop, order deep fried shark and stay on top thx.

      • well when they fed ground up sheep to cows in europe that didn't work out well, mad cows disease …… so natural diet of grass is a good diet.

    • edit dup

most of our beef is grass fed …… grass is cheaper then grain in Australia …… it's grain fed that costs more.

      • Interesting read..

    Go Aussie producers !

  • Ahh my favorite, a beautiful steak from a cow named Angus!

  • Deal not available in Tas, NT and WA!

Err, 1KG Black Angus Porterhouse is always $12-$16. This is always the better cut over scotch, scotch is always $3 cheaper.

1KG Black Angus Eye Fillet $25
    1KG bacon (Don) - $11.99
Lamb back straps (Obviously cant be black angus!) - $14 a KG
    Sirloin steaks?? Unknown price.

Well obviously sirloins can't be valued at $56 a KG which would make the reamining dollars..

    Total price: $80??

Black Angus isn't your grain fed beef which really gets the marbling like your Black Onyx, Cape Grim, Mayura Station etc.

This deal is (profanity) terrible. I understand people in WA and NT pay a fortune for beef and meat in general, so it might be good to them. But as this isn't available to them in VIC, NSW, QLD, TAS this deal is terrible.

    • Don?
      LOL

Where are you getting your prices from?
I've never seen eye fillet or porterhouse at those prices.

    • I have to add you don't know what a sirloin steak is you don't know your meat.
google it and you will be pleasantly surprised at what else it is called.

      • I know exactly what sirloin is just unsure about prices hence the question marks.

Found out its $9 a kg from a 300kg cow.

My butcher deals with 600kg grain fed. Seriously people go to a GOOD butcher.

what's the difference between a porterhouse and a sirloin? =D

        • @dasher86:

Mate sirloin comes from sirloin right next to the round.

Porterhouse and t bone comes from the short loin. Much better cut.

I buy meat in the masses so i know the pricing of meat. Did 18 rumps on the smoker last weekend at around 4kg each.

Proof. Black angus Porterhouse $16.99, rump $10, ribeye $6. Eye fillet $25.

Porterhouse is now $12 though, got 2kg in my freezer paid $24 2 weeks ago. This is standard price though.
