  • Looks like out of stock as soon as you posted.

  • Looks that way…. Were not 10mins ago so i would keep updating

    • +2

      stil in stock for me

    • Still in stock 1 only per cart. Enjoy ;)

  • +8

Wish I was brave enough to spend $650 on a graphics card (this is a great price btw), but the wife would kill me.
$350 is max for me. Nice find OP.

    • +37

Lol. This is why I'm painfully alone. Worth it

      • +18

Yeah that's definitely the reason you're single. I believe you mate.

        • don't be rude to him, he might be right

        • @rogr:
          Banter

    • +3

Don't think it's worth that anyways. The new Radeon is soon to be released and you can find a good one for your desired price

    • +5

Being killed is a small price to pay for an awesome graphics card

    • +1

damn man she has you wipped

      • That… is a very awkward sounding relationship

    • May want to wait for the RX 480 then. They 'should' be around that price and have really good specs.

    • Why dont you get a Rx 480, it cost around there. Not good quality like the 1070 or 1080 but it is still stronger than old gen-gpu

  • +10

Good find. I bit the bullet and ordered a MSI Gaming X GTX 1070. $780 from CPL (ouch). I told myself that I'd never spend more than $600 on a video card, and in the past I've only ever spent a max of $350. Screw it, I'm gonna live a little… and then cry into my empty wallet.

    • When I saw the price for that non founders edition card I was still surprised. It's basically the same price as the founders right now. Hopefully it will go down in a couple of weeks.

    • +9

To be fair, if you are going to spend big on only one gaming pc component, you chose the correct one.

    • how much would that sell on amazon/newegg, and how does that gaming x version compare to the gigabyte extreme version?

    • +2

Try looking into your wallet after you buy a house in Sydney :( .. i am lucky if i can afford the $199 AMD RX 480 8GB .. it should be a nice upgrade to my intel HD530 Graphics

      • I almost feel your pain. I'm upgrading from a gtx 560 and e6750…

        • +2

And I'm trying to upgrade from my parent's basement to a 1 bed flat

    • +1

How much you want for your tear-softened wallet?

  • I'll wait for the next gen…

    • +8

      this is the next gen,

      • +7

Then, he'll wait for next (next gen). 😉

        • +3

Then, he'll wait for the one after next one (the actual next gen)

        • @CozmerkIsenberg:

          next (next (next gen)))

      • +1

        Sarcasm

    • +11

i heard the 1270 will be faster and better than the 1080ti that is not even out yet.

      • +1

1080 is so last gen. I'll wait for the NVIDIA 4k

    • yeah… naahhh

  • weird… i tried to order one of the EVGA cards from Newegg a week ago and they wouldn't let me… I could order other brands but not the EVGA 1070… oh well

good buy if you can get it

  • +4

I got a 560ti. Will wait for GTX 1120. Will only pay the ridiculous price for double the performance.

    • +5

I have a GTX680. I'm waiting for the GTX1360 for double performance as well.

      • +6

        I have a 9600 GSO 384mb. Still can't afford to buy Eneloops.

        • +2

Im running my S3 ViRGE and passing it through my Voodoo2 12 MB.

I can wait for the next gen….

      • ill wait for intel i5 1560k. the onboard gfx will rip the gtx1070

    • +2

I have 9800GT so i will wait for 19600 GT for double performance too

  • is this card faster than gtx 980 g1 in the other deal or is it better to go with 980?

  • +1

Are 1070s likely to stay this expensive? I paid $450 for my 970 a few years ago and was expecting the 10* series to be about the same price.

    • great question. the 1070 is the card for me…but not for more than 500

    • This is still a founders edition card. Others will be cheaper

    • cheapest will still be around $600 landed

maybe wait for 2nd hand 980ti to get to around $550ish

    • Probably going to get more expensive if this pans out

  • +2

Those who have 300 to 350 limited budget… you may want to get this http://wccftech.com/amd-rx-480-faster-than-nano-980/

    • no DVI :(

edit: apparently an adapter will be included, nevermind

  • +1

eh id rather a couple of rx 480's for less than this.

    • +1

      Your loss.

      • nah not really, don't need the second PCI-E slot for anything else.

        • What about the extra power used? Over time it may cost you more, not to mention the problems with crossfire in games.

        • @ScruffTheJanitor:

RX 480 8GB uses 100w running and two of them would be less then 200w at 50% load most of the time ..

2 of them perform better then a GTX 1080 in DX12 because they have sync compute hardware and 1080/1070 do not…

Next gen Nvidia (GTX1180/GTC1170 or whatever they will be called) cards will have async compute hardware like AMD to be able to compete with DX12 titles better.

        • @ScruffTheJanitor:
          nope
RX480 uses ~100W apparently, and testing shows GTX 1070 at ~140-150

        • +1

@snynx: I would be much more worried about cross-fire support from games (Usually not very good except for a few) rather than power requirement differences.

        • @snynx: true, but dual 480s are on par / better than a 1080, not a 1070.

        • +1

@CheapCoffee: doesn't DX12 mean that essentially crossfire / SLI isn't a thing any more? You could have one of both manufacturer's cards if you wanted.

        • @gizmomelb: yes and yus yus yus!!! Not many dx12 titles out there yet though

  • Has anyone dealt with Newegg with regards to warranty? From what I can gather on the site, you get 2 weeks from from the delivery date..

    • +2

Evga's warranty is world wide… So you'd just deal with them

      • Thanks. I suppose the DOA period is really enough for most issues. I'm just paranoid as I have the crappiest luck with buying electronics.

  • i would wait until Nvidia add Async compute hardware to their GPU's before i spend the cash on a Nvidia card… AMD Vega 10 and 11 will decimate whatever Nvidia have in DX12

    Nvidia GPUs don't support DirectX12 Asynchronous Compute/Shaders

  • +1

    founders edition!?

    dam you Dominion!

  • why not wait for custom reference card??

  • +1

Wouldnt the msi 1070 armour x be better?
Same price, same website, custom board, better cooler, higher clocks……

Both are out of stock though

    • Custom board is always the better option.

  • Is this price in response to the manufacturer's overclock version of the 1080 being cheaper and more reliable then the Founder Edition? I read somewhere that the FE has fan problems.

EDIT: Sorry I thought this was the 1080 FE.

  • This appears to be in stock again.

  • Bought one and it was in stock. They also offer paypal option so that's good

    • I think paypal use their own conversion rates? which is pretty bad though?

  • +1

Founders edition. What a stupid name.

  • -2

    http://wccftech.com/amd-rx-480-1500mhz-overclocking-tool-vol…

ouch for all those nVidia GTX 1070, 1080 buyers…

    • Is it still an ouch? Rumoured/leaked benchmarks have the 480 performing about the same as a 980, making the the 1070 about 40% faster. Different price bracket and different target market.

No idea why you're so attached to an unreleased and untested card that you felt compelled to make this post in 6 different threads. It's like you're posting in a Porche 911 thread that you can buy a Corolla for a third the price - it's not like we're unaware that high end video cards don't have the best bang for buck.

      • Plenty of noobs are unaware and they go buy inferior product because of the mindshare…i am here to enlighten them.

Also most leaks have come out to be true and the inetrnet is rife with RX 480 leaks, no reason for them not to hold out till these leaks are confirmed instead of pulling the trigger on an over priced piece of garbage with no true async support.

The current GTX 1070 cost 2x more than the RX 480 and by all benchmarks, the RX 480 can be withing 10%-20% of the GTX performance for half the price.

  • Back in stock again

  • Is anyone going to actually buy one from newegg?

The gigabyte g1 is available for the same price from newegg, for me its much better for every way….

Im building a new rig yhough worried about newegg and warranty. I would purchase the gaming g1 from amazon today if they had it at newegg price

    Thoughts?

    • +2

If you can hold off for one more week, the AMD's 480 card will be released and then the nVidia cards should drop in price back to reasonable price ranges.

      • Thanks, I didnt know the announcement was that soon.

        Time to do more reading

    • My case is small and is best with a blower-style card, and EVGA offers international warranty so this is a better deal for me.

For most I'd go with the Gigabyte though.

      • Fair enough, each to their own

My case if the sff ftz01 so probably wont get smaller than that with this card, personally i wont be getting a reference blower style for me

  • What do you guys think about getting this recently posted deal build - Any idea if the card would be supported?:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-6th-Gen-Quad-Core-i5-6600-3…

and picking up the GTX 1070? (Was otherwise considering getting the build with the GTX 970 - which was ~$1250 in total for the build)

  • When you display in AUD are you only viewing the USD value converted to AUD, or are you actually -buying- in AUD? I'm considering buying but if you're not buying straight in AUD, Paypal's conversion fees will add at least an extra $30

    • You can choose whether you're charged in AUD or USD during checkout. By default it's AUD though.

      • +1

Cool, yep I definitely got charged in AUD so no conversion necessary :)

  • Just a few words of caution for people wanting to order with Newegg using PayPal - The shipping address you give Newegg MUST match your confirmed PayPal billing address. If it doesn't, you will go through checkout, be charged by PayPal and have your order rejected and voided by Newegg. Voided orders need to have a Paypal refund processed which could leave your account in the red for days.

While I understand this rule is in place so they can verify customers, I'm not sure why Newegg only think to notify people after they've already checked out.

  • Doesn't appear to ship to australia:
"This item does not ship to Australia. Please check other sellers who may ship internationally."

Found a different one on Amazon UK. With the recent dive in GBP vs AUD the EVGA FTW card can be had for "Payment Grand Total: AUD 1,057.35"

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01GBX86U0/ref=od_aui_de…

  • this the best deal on the 1070 currently ?

  • This seems to be totally out of stock now.
