My order was probably an hour after it was posted.

Based on your order number, looks like there has been 400 odd orders

        • Mine was 1154x. I purchased around the 2000 clicks mark

        • INT10001129X

  • +1

Damn. Saw this in the morning when it had only 5 upvotes and no comments. Didn't think much of it since I'm not a huge coffee guy.

Now with over 4,000 clicks and 140 upvotes, this deal has to be doing something right, so I bit the bullet. I just hope my order doesn't get cancelled since I got in so late.

  • +9

I have absolutely no use for this, I don't even drink coffee. But 4000 clicks and 150 up votes means I have to buy it.

    • What are you going to do with it? Start drinking coffee?

      • Probably gift it to someone, or just start drinking coffee.

  • Does anyone know if this can make hot chocolate & instant hot water as well?

And does it need a replacement filter to clean?

    • Yes just buy hot chocolate capsule

  • As a uni student, I indeed need this for my whole course. Thanks alot to you both. Hopefully the taste of the pod is nice. been buying cafe coffe take awy but its too expensive now. 4.5 for a large latte.

    • Indeed this year all cafes in Melbourne raised their prices to unsustainable levels. 4.5 to 5 for large, many people have moved to making their own in the office or using capsules

      • +2

We have the most expensive coffee in the world…

        • Indeed, really a disgrace

        • @Bargaingeek: went to Israel last year, cost me $3aud for a large coffee. barely any large coffee in oz would cost less than $4.5.

  • Your mum is cooler than my mum

  • My order no is INT100011758!

  • All good, don't necessarily need one but will give it a try…..$149 seems to good to miss.

  • After umming and ahing over this, I bit the bullet! I am a daily Caffitaly drinker and was unsure about the integrated milk system. I like to just heat my milk in the microwave. Decided change is good.

    • +1

Your taste buds will definitely thank you for texturing the milk rather than just heating it in the microwave.

  • Bought one. Thanks op and Many Thanks your 'MOM'
    "First Coffee machine"

the coupon doesnt works anymore, i missed this one :(

  • +1

Looks like it's now expired: "Coupon code "MAP-OFFER-16" is not valid."

Bugger! Was about to pull the trigger (coupon had applied successfully but I'd not yet checked out) and luckily in PayPal I noticed it was going through at $451!
Double checked and yep, sure enough, expired coupon.

    • It appears they've caught on. They just experienced what it means to be OzBargained.

I was thinking of getting one today because I didn't really need a new unit. I missed out but in a way I'm kind of glad the decision was taken from me. I need to stop buying things I don't need just because they're cheap.

I'm really proud of myself for passing on the last few rounds of cheap MicroSD sales which I was very tempted to buy more of.

      • +1

Sorry to say, they've given you a second chance. It must be fate for you to spend money on unwanted deals.

(edit.. Just saw your comment below. Looks like you're sorted! Congrats on the new item you don't need.)

        • :(

  • really? worked for me 5 minutes ago

  • +1

    I just checked, coupon expired.

  • +1

    Coupon expired.

  • +1

Can confirm, coupon expired. Smoking deal! I hope everyone's orders get honoured.

  • There's still the $189 option for those that missed out - no free capsules though…

Is still a good deal in it's on right - just not as good as this insanely good one!

I ordered quite early on in the piece, hopefully they honor it! Actually really looking forward to this. Can get rid of my Nespresso with seperate milk frother that is a pain to use and clean etc.

Exclusive CBA machine & coffee offer. Please use coupon code CBA-OFFER-16 in checkout to obtain discount.

DEAL INCLUDES 8 X 10 PACKS OF CAPSULES (80 COFFEE CAPSULES)

    • Brilliant, I thought my ummming and ahhhing cost me.
It still did but on another ozbargain deal haha
      Thanks!

    • Can you use a 2l milk bottle rather than filling the container all the time ? Or perhaps mod it with a small hose ?

    • Haha.. damn.

Just when I thought I saved myself $149 because the coupon expired. They still got my money in the end. I did well to resist for a day.

      Is CBA the Commonwealth Bank?

  • +1

Are both of these offers for the same thing?

Yesterday's offer was "MAP COFFEE EXCLUSIVE OFFER" and shawshank's offer is called "CBA MAP COFFEE OFFER". What is a CBA, and how is it different to just MAP COFFEE?

One says "Exclusive CBA machine & coffee offer." the other says "Exclusive MAP machine & coffee offer."

Was this a deal offered to Commonwealth Bank customers or something? Or is CBA another electrical manufacturer I haven't heard of?

    • I was wondering the exact same thing

    • +1

yep exactly the same! It's just a different coupon that does the same thing, hence why it was merged.

      • -1

The moderator decided to merge for some reason.

      • The description is slightly different though. One is a MAP machine the other is a CBA machine.

        What is a CBA machine?

  • +1

Map Pods are currently $4 at Coles, down from $5.43….

    • "down down going down"

  • +1

Is there any chai pods available for this machine to keep the wife happy?

  • thanks just ordered

any good tutorial around on how to reuse pods

really want to buy own beans, grind and reuse

  • can't resist, just bought one.

  • Thanks! Out late, got up late and therefore missed out. Checked again and now a second chance winner.
By the way the order numbers are up to 863.

  • Guessing a lot of these orders will be cancelled tomorrow with an excuse along the lines of "These codes were never meant for the general public and we can therefore not honor the orders"

    • Yeah I got a feeling something like this will happen. Deal seems too good to be true

    • I don't think so. Machine is probably only worth $100. The whole point of the machine is so you buy their pods. Think of it like cheap printers.

      • It might cost that much to make, but if other places are selling it for $399, then that is its market value.

Cheap printers are priced as such. This is priced at $399.

        • Think about nespresso, regardless how much the machines are worth, what is the cost difference between a serving of blend43, regular beans and a nespresso pod serving of coffee, clearly the pods are more expensive unless you were blending kopi luwac beans. Its all a method to keep you using pods. Obviously this machine is different because other makes fit into it but I'm sure you get the bigger picture.

When you get this machine you'll understand why I feel that it's only worth $100. Despite other retailers selling it for over $400 doesn't mean someone has actually gone out and got one of them.

    • It was on their web site. They should have better IT if people who weren't targeted for the promo were able to see it.

      • I know right was thinking the same thing.. good thing I'm with cba

  • +3

    MAP-MUMS-16 also working

    • +1

      You're right.

      http://mapcoffee.com.au/mothers-day-offer.html

      It's a mother's day offer. Except… it's a bit late, or perhaps very early for Mother's day.

I just tried adding to cart all 3 different promos (original + cba + mum's), and one single code discounted all 3 of them by $302 each.

      Subtotal $1,353.00
      Discount (MAP-MUMS-16) -$906.00
Shipping & Handling (FREE Shipping - Regular Post) $0.00
      Grand Total Excl. GST $420.55
      GST $26.45
      Grand Total Incl. GST $447.00

  • Can anyone recommend any good pod as in taste and price too for this machine please. Thanks.

    • -2

All of MAP and Aldi ones will fit this.

      • Guess will just go with MAP because bazzazz mentions that Aldi coffee pods taste like soapy water.

What about these others? Another member Name like "Mr Barista" Strong.

        1)Woolworths Select
        2)Gloria Jean
        3)Grinders
        4)MAP
        5)Moccona
        6)Mr Barista

    • Gloria Jeans are alright.

    • Any cafe Italy system based pods a few brands out there like Gloria jeans woolies wtc

  • +1

pods on special at ww if anyone is interested. $4bux per box of 10

    • +1

No point buying if they will cancel orders let's find out this week first if they honor these orders!

      • They might honor it but will tell you unfortunately they run out of stock and would refund you. Try to opt and ask for other colours. Lolx..

  • Awesome, seems like a ripper deal. Thanks OP!

  • Expired :(

  • All 3 codes no longer valid when I tried to purchase :(

  • +1

    Out of stock now.

This is still active and working: http://mapcoffee.com.au/mothers-day-offer.html

    • yup just got it thanks !

    • Now out of stock

  • Anyone have an update on their order?
Hoping its not going to be a disaster..

    • Yeah - i'm actually really looking forward to my new coffee machine, so will be quite disappointed now if it goes to crap.

      Still no update for me.

  • Seems like they're still selling the item for $399 on the website..

  • No update for me either.

  • Patience, patience…

  • +11

So I called the helpline number around 2pm and the rep said at this stage the intention is to honour the orders however she would know more later today about logistics etc
So will call them tomorrow to see when can I expect this to dispatch.
Apparently this was a corporate code not meant for retail customers. But still they intended to honour it when I called so hopefully they stick to the plan

    • They might have just sold a few thousand units. I don't know if they have that many. Will probably be a few weeks wait for some people.

    • I suggest we are patient for a few days and let Map Coffee work through the fullfilment process.

A hoarde of oz-bargainers on the phone chasing their coffee machine will only add to the workload and cost. Considering that a slightly more expensive deal for $189 was also posted I think we have reasonable chance.

  • Nice work niteorider
My nespresso is on its last legs so this would be a good opportunity to swap over…

  • Good job niterider keep us updated thnx

  • Hughsey89, please thank your mum…looks like I may have got one of the last of these at 10.30 am this morning..my S21 broke down this morning at 6.10am…thanks for your post.👍

  • -6

Just another machine that puts hardworking Australians out of work.

    • +3

They deserve it, charging $5-$6 for coffee, plus mandatory annual price increase no thanks

      • +2

Too many crap "baristas" selling coffee at premium prices.

Will always buy coffee from places I know make good coffee - but will not be spending $5 on someone who did a 1 day "barista" course

      • -2

If we just ate less for breakfast/lunch, we'd have enough to buy a coffee AND lower morbid obesity rates at the same time. Support local jobs!

        • +2

and then the people selling breakfast/lunch would suffer….

    • +1

We have a choice: automation leading to a higher standard of living but less people working or paying more for our goods meaning we can afford less.

As for baristas the elite are unlikely to be replaced because they bring artistry to pouring a cup of coffee.

  • +1

Ugh kinda regretting not getting it now :(

    • +1

      User name checks out

  • +2

Will be switching from my old Nespresso machine that stops and flashes pretty frequently now to this machine.
So end of the day MAP has succeeded in switching quite a few of us to their system by selling machines around cost price more or less I'd guess.
Therefore still a good exercise for their future coffee sales.

  • It would be stupid of them not to honour this deal, the machine wouldn't cost much to manufacture and they will suddenly have hundreds of new MAP coffee drinkers buying their pods for years to come…

    • They first have to go through their 80 pods.

      • Which would take a matter of a month or two for the average drinker.

  • Anyone got a shipping confirmation or anything yet?

  • -1

Just got a cancellation email due to stock availability, I jumped on it quite early. So i suppose they're working their way down the list, either way was really looking forward to getting it so jumped on the $189 one.

    • Can you share your order number with the last number blanked?

      • +1

        INT10001139X

        • Thanks - would be interesting to see if the people that got payment processed emails from paypal were before or after this order.

I'm about 100 orders before you

          1129X

        • +1

          @deeps:

          Just got another email.

          Hi caspochek,

Further to the below email I can see that you may have tried again and the order went through successfully - INT10001139X

Due to the high volume of orders we will be in touch with you later next week with dispatch details.

Should you require any assistance in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact our team on 1800 239 438.

          Kind regards,

Seems they may have just had a issue processing my CC. Looks like we'll be getting it. Just gotta cancel my home order lol

        • +2

          @caspochek: Good news then!

Later next week for dispatch it seems. Fair enough considering the amount of orders they would have got!

        • @caspochek: I received the same email (also in the 300s. Looks very promising, now I just have to hope my S14 machine can hold out for another couple of weeks.

I enjoy the Map Coffee blends so will probably organise a Harvey Norman gift card. I don't always bother as other brands are stocked in shops I frequent more often.

  • Hi guys an update I decided to call them myself and the rep on phone said they still can't confirm yet about the order and said that I should wait.

This doesn't instill confidence I have a feeling they didn't have enough stock or this is a big loss for them. Hopefully they honor it but right now they still haven't made a decision. If they don't have enough stock might be weeks before we get or most orders get cancelled
