    • Exact same boat as you and order number is also 29X…

Have heard nothing.. Paid via CC

  • No email confirmation of order no or the choice of colour :(

  • +1

I got the 'black is out of stock would you like a white instead' email. I emailed back and said when will black be back in stock and see what they say.

Also just noticed Dick Smith (Kogan) have the machine for $179 (no included pods), a lot cheaper than MAP's 'special price' of $399 on their website!

    https://www.dicksmith.com.au/da/buy/saeco-bravista-latte-plu…

    • +2

The Kogan deal doesn't have free pods which are worth $50. I say go with another colour u won't find this cheaper than MAP deal.

If u compare Kogan directly with this is like $100 for this deal and $179 for Kogan because of the free pods

      • +1

Well - no black available on Kogan website either.

    • Or you can get it for $143.20 from the DS ebay store: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/261037

      • +1

still more expensive than this deal since no free pods

    • @Tex Texan, did they reply?

      • Yes…

"Sorry but we will not have the black anymore.
Please let me know if you want the White or you want your money back."

Yet their website still shows the black model for sale?! I ended up asking for the white, another email from them today saying that due to demand it would be 5-10 days before delivery.

        • Crap. I never got that email, but I disposed of my current coffee machine in anticipation for this.

  • If anyone interested. I feel more assured of buying this machine

    • its not the same machine, but overall caffitaly pods and machines have good reviews. You can use any caffitaly pod on the map machine

  • Interesting that the GST component is only $8.82 of the $149…my guess is they are not taking a 'loss' in fulfilling the supply….just not having as big a mark up to wholesale.

Any tax savvy accountants out there that can explain why it is so low?

    • It's possibly because they are offering the free pods so discount that from total value. Or its an account error not sure. It cannot be what u r saying as that would be illegal

    • Must be a mistake … can't legally charge less than 10% GST on the total amount regardless of what you discount unless some component is GST free (which is unlikely because even the coffee is processed into pods)

  • Has anyone who said yes to the white subsequently receive a shipment confirmation yet?

    • Not yet. Waiting continous…

    • Still waiting…

      • must be waiting for more stock to arrive.

        • Got an email saying it will take 5-10 days for delivery.

  • Mine was changed to white and dispatched due for delivery tomorrow

    • Strangely I received a black one despite replying I would take white. All good I wanted the black anyway.

  • Isnt it boring waiting???

Agreed to the white one but still waiting for posting confirmation……

    I hate waiting……

Isnt it funny how everything nowadays is too slow….even when using a microwave you stand there wishing for something quicker… :-)

    cheers

Had the same thought when testing the coffee machine this morning #firstworldprobs

      • where you go to test it?

        • +1

Mine was delivered this morning :)

  • My machine is on the way, I should get it in a few days - hopefully with the 80 pods :)

  • I sent an email querying what was up with my order… 10 minutes later, got a shipping confirmation..

No email about colors etc. so hopefully that means a black was shipped!

ETA is end of the week (WA)

    looking forward to it.

  • Just got the black with 80 caps delivered. Damn this is a loud machine

    • +5

And you thought it was the coffee which wakes you up in the morning ….

  • Mine makes no noise. Still MIA :)

  • +2

Got mine today, piano black nice and elegant looking machine. Plus 80 pods.

It's no more noisy than a nespresso machine. So far so good 1 capsule is 8g shot which is the real standard barista shot size compared to nespresso which is only 5 grams.

Milk frother works perfect nice and foamy, however if u like a more customized froth you might want to get an external milk frother

Amazing deal overall, when u factor in Free pods you only spent $100. Also have option of woolen pods and Gloria jeans pods. Thanks op!

  • +1

I was offered the white machine.

MAP Coffee has black machines, but they are no longer sending them out at the $149 price.

I would say this is false advertising, no where does it say there were limited units being allocated to this promotion.

    • They offered a refund if you weren't happy with white. There's not much you can get them on.

Go to any Target or Big W and there's no promise they'll have the stock even if they don't say it's limited.

  • It's going to be a long wait for those of us who have not received a dispatch notice yet.
I was sent this message today. Many thanks for your patience with this delivery. We apologize for the delay with your delivery. Due to the volume of orders we will be advising customer of the dispatch details in the next 5-10 days.

Please note the below lead times once dispatched:

VIC 2 working Days (regional +1 Day)
SA 4 working Days (regional +1 Day)
NSW 4 working Days (regional +1 Day)
ACT 4 working Days (regional +1 Day)
QLD 5 working Days (regional +1 Day)
TAS 7 working Days (regional +1 Day)
WA 8 working days (regional +1 Day)
NT 8 working days (regional +1 Day)

    • oh man, thought I was going to have a nice sunday morning MAP coffee this weekend, think not…

    • +1

I hope it comes soon. My area's annual hard waste disposal was this week. I threw out my old coffee pod machine, and they collected it this morning.

I'm going to go without coffee for weeks perhaps…

I hope V is on special this week.

  • -2

Map claims the order numbers are not sequentially generated so the people that were issued black machines were not necessarily those that ordered first.

It is unfortunate that they have had to lie to avoid sending out more of the Black machines which they have stock of.

Poor form, Map Coffee, poor form.

    • +2

You're getting a promo where you save a couple hundred bucks from RRP and you're complaining that the service isn't good enough because you're not getting black?

Some people are hard to please. You're like a beggar who complains the food he's being donated doesn't taste good enough and wants fine dining.

Just get a white one or swap with someone who wants white but got black. Or get your money back and wait for the next sale.

      • -3

Simply not as advertised. Nor was there a quota stated for these machines when they clearly have black units in stock.

        • +2

They didn't advertise it to you. Someone's mum found the link by accident and shared it.

They just had bad IT and anyone who knew where it was could see the page. But they didn't advertise it, at least not to you. You weren't supposed to be offered the deal or even see it.

Quit complaining. Get your money back and move on.

  • +1

Received mine from DS eBay ($143, no pods)

  • So those that have been lucky enough to receive their machines - how are they finding them!? Would be good to see some reviews

  • +6

Whats the big deal about HAVING to get a BLACK machine?

Are people so vain nowadays they have to colour coordinate there appliances!

Even when there getting a bargain?

    Its a coffee machine!

The colour wont affect how it works, if you don't like white throw a towel over it or by some spray paint.

    Talk about small world problems.

Its the end of the world if I cant have a black one……it reminds me of the screaming kids in the shops when they cant have a lolly.

    cheers

  • Emailed them today just asking about my order, got the same response about due to high demand expect 5-10 days for delivery etc.
Then late this afternoon received an email with a startrack a con note number ETA is tomorrow for two packages.
Interesting that I never received any previous emails regarding colour choice so I'm assuming I'm getting a black one.

  • they are using startrack to deliver make sure you are home when they do as they can't drop off at the post office :(

    • From what i can see now at my area they are using startrack contractors to deliver post office parcels. Not sure it's the same for this delivery or at other places.

    • Why can't they? Where does it go if I've ducked out when they deliver? Back to a depot?

      • +1

They took mine back to the depot. You need to call them for redelivery which can only be done after a day between 9-5pm. Because the parcels were big they don't leave it at the post office or u can ask them to leave it at your door if that's safe

        • Thanks, good to know! I'm in an apartment, so the front door definitely won't work :P

    • must be pending suburbs?
they dropped mine off at my local post.

  • Just received the coffee machine from Startrack - works really well and the coffee made tastes quite good! Great buy for the 80 pods and a coffee machine that prepares coffee/milk in a single step.

  • How easy is the milk frother to clean? Do you need to rinse and wipe it or need to flush the entire milk system?

    • +1

Simple one button rinse into cup after each use. Weekly clean needs disassembly into 5-6 parts and wash.

      • -1

Yikes. I think I'll keep my Aeroccino and use that instead.

        • I think this will make proper milk compared to the aeroccino.
          Ie actually streams it

        • @deeps: I've been fine with the improper milk the Aero makes. Been using it for 2 years, so I don't mind.

        • @lostn:
I was fine with instant coffee until I started drinking proper coffee..

I think once you start drinking an espresso shot with textured milk you'll realise that the fake milk (improper) tastes terrible. But, I guess each to their own, some people think 7/11 coffee is good. I wish I did. It'd be nice to only pay $1 for a coffee.

        • @Name: to be fair 7/11 has daily deliveries of coffee beans, ground to order and steamed milk. Easily on par with this machine.

        • @badarz:
True, although this machine I won't be using. It's for my wife, she works from home and doesn't go out for a coffee. I only drink coffee Mon-Fri at work. I'll grab a coffee if we go somewhere on the weekend, but proper Barista made. I really only like the taste of coffee, I don't typically get the buzz from coffee that others do, so unless it tastes good I don't bother.

          I supplement with tea.

        • @Name:

Then I better not ever start drinking 'real' coffee.

I don't drink it for the taste. I only want the caffeine, so I wouldn't call myself a connoisseur who buys expensive equipment that still won't match what a Barista uses.

Also, unlike you, I was never fine with instant coffee.

  • Startrack left a card. Picked mine up yesterday from the post office, in black. Great buy.

    • How's the machine and coffee?

      • Machine is good; coffee isn't bad; but milk needs to be hotter.

  • Got my machine last Friday, black. Delivered by Startrack, express overnight delivery it seems. I phoned up Startrack on the day it was delivered and provided my approval to leave it at my door rather than taking it to the depot. This worked well.

Only had a chance to use it a few times but loving it so far.

Its great that you can customise the size of your coffee. So you can program the machine to put in the exact amount of coffee shot, and exact amount of milk that you want, so that you can make the perfect coffee to your liking, and fill up your cup to the brim with one press.

Cleaning after use is easy but have not yet done a weekly clean.

Noise wise it is the same as a Nespresso machine.

Loving it so far! Thanks OP.

  • The buttons are a bit hard to press and the milk is not as hot as i'd like but does a good job frothing.

But my biggest issue is the weekly disassembling parts and cleaning. I though it was just cleaning the water and milk tank and descaling.

    • Do you only have to clean the milk dispenser, or the rest of the machine as well?

I don't mind cleaning the water reservoir or the drip trays or capsule holder, but I sure as hell don't want to be disassembling any more than that.

      • Milk jug disassembly required. Tubes and fittings. I think 6 parts in all. Doesn't take too long to take it apart and put it back.

        • The 6 parts are all from the milk jug and not the main coffee unit?

        • @lostn: yes

        • @badarz: Yeah I'll keep my Aeroccino. One unit, no disassembly.

        • @lostn: aeroccino has three parts to be cleaned - vessel, lid, whisk. And the vessel commonly has a residual layer of milk stuck to the bottom which needs to be scraped off. Overall I'm going through the same effort after switching from aeroccino.

        • @badarz: That's easy. It takes only seconds to clean a lid and whisk. The parts are easy to remove.

I've never had residue stuck to my Aero. Don't know how you're cleaning yours. I think something might be wrong with either your unit, the milk you use, or the way you clean it.

All of the milk comes out just from a rinse, before even putting any detergent in. Are you waiting too long and letting it crust before you clean it? I clean it before I even drink my cup.

        • @lostn: Should be similiar internal parts with S22 so you can see it here

    Question
Mine came with a sticker on the box saying not suitable for non coffee beverages. However the instruction book says non coffee beverages can be made.
Does anyone know which is correct?

    • +1

I was just wondering the same thing. Was hoping to use mine to make hot chocolate :)

Got the machine today. It's well worth it so far. Can't wait to try other pods they offer.

    • +1

ignore that, it works fine with chai and hot chocolate capsules

      • I went by office works today, couldn't find any chai or hot chocolate… Can you get these at Coles?

Would be interesting to try them.. Are they any good?

        • I got hot chocolate from woolies they sell map and Gloria jeans caps both work on this machine.

Chai is available only from good guys at the moment

        • @Bargaingeek:

Hi just confirming that you used hot chocolate capsules by Gloria jeans? I can't seem to find MAP's hot chocolate pods on any website

        • @djevoultion:

Yes confirmed Gloria jeans chocolate I used on same machine quality product.

Any caffitaly system pod will work on thus machine

        • @Bargaingeek:

Thanks. I picked some up from woollies. What settings do you use for hot chocolate? Milk button once and then white espresso button? Or do you have a custom setting

  • +1

Well, the waiting is starting to get a bit boring….. 13 days and they still havent caught up with orders?

You wouldnt want to buy any coffee pods from them, might be a bit of a wait for your next cup of coffee…..

    cheers

    • Just call or email them

      • +5

        Hi,
I emailed them a few days ago and received the I'm busy email, it might take 5 -10 days etc.

I emailed them again this afternoon, saying its been 13 days, but havent received a reply.
You wouldnt think it would take 2 weeks to print some labels and post them out.

        cheers

  • Received. Loving it.

  • Finally got mine today… Love it, big upgrade from my nespresso with aerocinno

    • What do u think of taste vs nespresso? Many claim nespresso is top in terms of taste

      • I've only tried the Portofino and I haven't played with the settings, but my initial thoughts are Nespresso coffee is better.

I feel the coffee tastes like it's had too much water pulled through it, giving it a slightly bitter, watered down taste. I suspect reducing the amount of water being passed through the pod will help - or perhaps it's just the flavour or the pod that I don't like.

I plan on buying a few different types of pods today to give them a go and will report back.

The milk frother works really well (almost too well as there's a tonne of froth left at the top) and the machine seems pretty well built.

Interesting hack, Confirmed Aldi non coffee pods work perfectly with this machine. Like Aldi Chai pods

    http://www.caffita.info/articles/capsule-review/k-fee-verism…

  • I received mine last week, every time I make a espresso, there is coffee residue left over on the bottom of the glass. Is that normal ? Anyone else experiencing that issue?

    • +1

      Wash cup after consuming

    • That happened on my old Map $59 machine from OW a few years ago.

I hoped it was due to poor design of a cheap unit, seems it is Map themselves who have engineering problems.

  • +1

So bought the Gloria jeans pods… Smooth and the strong one..

Smooth was ok, too weak but good flavor

The strong was terrible, didn't even finish it

Haven't tried the hot choc yet, not sure what setting I'm meant to use.. Non coffee beverage will pour too much

    • The manual says to use the big blue cup button for hot chocolate that's what I used too works fine

      • Says it will pour 120ml of water… the hot choc capsule said use 60ml… i hit the blue button and it was pouring practically water towards the end

        • +1

U have to add steamed milk to it. It's up to u in the end if u want 60ml use lungo button. U can even program custom shots, all in manual

  • +4

    Still waiting……..

  • +1

Same here. I wonder if any "white" units have been shipped yet.

  • +1

    Same
