Nice find OP. Good price for a work machine and lots of stock.

  • Beginner questions, which one is faster for everyday use, HQ processor with mechanical HD or Dual Core with SSD?
    Thank you

    • +1

Probably ssd all the way but the 15" is likely to have a slot to easily replace or add an additional ssd, 128gbs are selling for around 50-60 now!

    • Sometimes hybrid disks will do with powerful hq processor.

If you do demanding tasks using laptop, hq will be better than u processor

This actually looks like a nice ultrabook for the right price.

I pulled the plug and ordered one earlier today. Good price for a user-serviceable machine with a good amount of upgrade options. There are 2 ram slots (1 free as configured), and an empty 42mm m2 slot (which you can put a wwan card or maybe a second ssd in). Pictures here.

Also works with Dell E-Docks which contain legacy ports (serial etc), and because they've been around a while, they're available quite readily for cheapish

    • The 2nd M.2 slot is under the battery?

      • At a guess from looking at a picture from the link above, it is on the top left of the board. You can see a unfilled slot there next to what appears to be the card reader and a slot for the sim card? Also taped down near it are possible connectors for the antennae.

        • OK. I was reading through the Owner's Manual (pg 12-13) and there appears to be a separate M.2 slot the same size as the default SSD under the battery. I'm not well versed with M.2 components so I could be totally wrong.

    • Can you confirm a 42mm m2 ssd works in the wwan slot?

      • I haven't tried, so my comment above included a maybe

BTW if anyone is concerned about the outlet and "as new", these machines are brand new. Usually, they're cancelled orders that have never left the warehouse. I have ordered a lot of DFO gear and the "as new" ones have always arrived brand new, nothing opened etc. The refurbs are hit and missed sometimes they're brand new, sometimes they're returns from a customer.

I've been eagerly awaiting the naysayers, I should really put this info into the post though haha

    • just you have much less warranty with these models

      • Not true, got a Latitude 15 5000 for my father 2 weeks ago from here and after doing the inbuilt registration it says warranty is valid to 03/2019.

So you get the warranty the machine was originally ordered with it appears..

        • +3

Go back and check your warranty status in a months time, there's a good chance Dell would have updated warranty details to match the invoice date + 12 months (ie 1-year warranty).

I have seen this on some Latitudes (ie 3 years normally), drop back to 1 year after a few week on the support. If it sticks then bonus.

Anyway the price difference easily makes up for the warranty and for those keen you can easily extend warranty and still be way in front in terms of dollars.

        • @BlinkyBill:

This is true, I wouldn't get your hopes up Maveot!

@XeKToReX: Yep, bought one 1 E7270 2 months ago. Just one year warranty. Fantastic laptop though.

I also have a Dell Precision bought in USA Dell Outlet. It came with 3 years on site warranty transferred to Australia.

  • Is there cash rewards for this?

  • I like to buy but, 12.5" screen is stopping me i like to have above 15" .

    • +6

This laptoo is called an ultrabook for a reason. Lightweight, compact and portable are what it has.

  • Can you still upgrade Win 8.1 to Windows 10 for free?

    • +1

Windows 8.1 Professional License, MS Seem to still be allowing the 8.1 —> 10 Upgrade free.

  • How to order?

  • Does this have a touch screen

    • no

  • It's not a deal for me. 2 weeks ago I bought the one with i7 and touch screen one for 849. Plus it's 13.3 inch. They always have refurbished ones in this price

    • +1

      What model did you buy?

    • This is "as new", not "refurbished". The system has never been used or touched after the initial manufacturing, as far as I understand "as new" condition of Dell. As others have said, these are likely to be cancelled orders

      • Yup agree, refurbs are usually much cheaper, and many times comes with opened box or not original box.

You can almost always buy refurb Dells from ebay, XPS 13s are really cheap there from US

    • i bought the same few days back. Yet to arrive though. Is your near new or has few scratches?? How was your expefience - are u happy with it??

    • i7, touch screen and 13.3" for $849… Sounds more like the consumer lineup like the Inspiron 13 7000

Only 13.3" in the Latitude lineup available is a E7370 which has a max of m7 and the touch screen is qhd with the cheapest being $1500 as a refurb

  • Plus it came with win 10

  • about to pull the plug for the DFO-3556319LT. Does anyone know why they have many DFO numbers for identical stock?

    • Maybe different orders etc.

    • Companies put in multiple purchase orders, that then subsequently get cancelled.

  • Wow good price, can't find many decent ultrabooks with i5-6300U at this price.

Wanted to buy one, but apparently stock team is closed? Agent will let me know tomorrow if stock is still available.

    • +10

      DFO works like this.

Get onto online Sales Chat (during business hours) if you even have the slightest thought about buying a machine (don't procrastinate). Give the online Sales Agent the DFO numbers you're interested in. They will run around and check availability.

If the item is unsold, they will generate a QUOTE that is valid for 24 hours. At this point, the item is pulled from the system and you have 24 hours to make up your mind. This is why it pay to submit multiple DFO numbers up front, increases your chances.

Then if you have buyers remorse or find something better, just let the quote lapse and it pops back up on the DFO. This why keen observers will see the same units come and go over the space of a few days.

Don't why I'm giving away all my DFO secrets, but oh well….

haha BlinkyBill, you blink :) but we appreciate it !

  • Hmmm, this one or the Lenovo Flex

      that's 1.7kg vs 1.26kg

  • Never bought from Dell Outlet and just wanted to know if you pay via phone or is there other payment options.

    Thanks

    • You can pay with your credit card via Chat.

      • no paypal options?

        • No as far as I know. You won't be using the online system for payments. Either give your credit card details over the phone/chat or make a bank transfer.

        • +1

Credit card, direct debit, and Bpay are listed options

        • @feeed: thanks heaps :)

  • Does anyone know about Razer core compatibility with dell latitude 7370???

    • m5/m7 will be useless for games even with the razer core

  • Have there been any deals on laptops with higher than FHD res screens lately? I want to move screen size down from a 17" Inspiron behemoth but bump the screen resolution to compensate.

  • Seems all as new units are gone.

  • Ordered last Wednesday and just received it today. Startrack in my area were awful.

So far, I like it. Came with win 7 Pro and I'm currently running the in-place upgrade to 10. The exterior looks a lot better than photos online would lead you to believe.

Not a fan of the keyboard as of yet (I'm used to typing on thinkpad x-series) and I find myself blindly reaching for the trackpoint/nip mouse which this laptop doesn't have. Battery life has been about 2.5 hours word processing on wifi and is now 50%. Hopefully will improve once it has been updated to win 10 and I update all my power drivers and stuff too. Wish they used the space of the Smartcard slot for something else.. tb? but i guess you can't have it all.

Also I should add that I called my partner this morning and convinced her to order one for herself. Decent buy.

    • how do you upgrade to windows 10? my one came with windows 7 pro installed, and a windows 8.1 recovery disc.

  • Anyone hear some coil whine from there E7270's?

Mine has it and can only be heard at a distance when in a quite office space..

Not sure I should bother swapping the motherboard as that may or may not resolve the issue.

Thinking just to live with it.. My precision has it but it gets muffled out with the fans so it no big deal

  • Do they come uncharged cause usually theres alittle bit of battery? or isit just my one that i received :/

  • There's a few back in stock
