hmm..how about some prices. This is a bargain website. And 50% off is usually from original rrp on release, sometimes the game is from 2007. We can't check your pricing here so I'd be tempted to neg.
My local eb had a solid chunk of stuff with the stickers for the sale on them already so I got a good idea of what's going on…
The $10, $20, $30 and half price applies for new games and pre-owned from what I could see and since prices in this regard will differ from store to store no real way of posting any pricing really…
I could be wrong about this but that's just what I gathered from what I saw…
In my local EB Uncharted 2 was priced at $99 for some, and $109 for others (identical boxes - the pre-owned ones were $91! lol) - so make sure you grab the one marked $99 for $50. It's apparently going platinum soon. Some platinum games were $10-20 off.
Ehh, some games i like on there but half retail is half a billion year old price that some retailers never charged :/
That said theres usually like one or two deals that actually beat other store's prices, and are decent games.
went to the sale in my local EB and to be honest, nothing special. There were 1 or 2 exceptions, but even with the discount, its not that different to competitors normal prices.
Ebgames' HUGE sales are only considered sales if you compare them to previous EB prices. It's not a bad deal but they're more or less just matching what other retail stores have as normal prices now or already had as a deal before.
I saw The Darkness on 360 for $6 - an absolute steal for a fantastic game. Nothing else special - 50% off $119.95 isn't that cheap, thankyou EB.

yes I agree with this! 50% off doesnt mean much if it starts off very expensive.

Phoebe, you've probably worked out that the Mad Monday promotion was pretty lame. Well, we worked that out too, and that's why we're having a hard time believing that this new sale will really be all that different.
EB Games keeps advertising fantastic prices without actually telling us what the fantastic prices actually are.
So you're using all the funky Web 2.0 technology like the cool kids, but all this Twitter and Facebook stuff will only get you so far. If you don't follow through on the 'crazy crazy prices' spiel, we're going to stop believing you and make for Game, Zavvi and the millions of other games retailers out there.
Too bad EB games is a massive rip off and wouldn't know a bargain if it hit them with your "drafting board" over the head and said "HEY IM A BARGAIN"… Do something about being able to use a gift voucher online (INCLUDING "MADMONDAY" AND OTHER PROMOTIONS) and then we'll talk, until then lock yourself up in the closet/basement… or wherever there is the least oxygen.. There is a half price off Mass Effect 2 graphic on the EB Games website I noticed just now, but when you add it to your cart its still $98. Not sure how that works! A bit misleading too, as it led me to believe for about 5 seconds that maybe full price was $196. lol
