i'm guessing none of them are actually made in Japan?
Its so hard trying to find one that's made in Japan in Australia unless you go for their top end models….

Price wise they aren't bad though… haha just me being picky.

    • +1

Put the highest price first, the top 8 are made in Japan. They are very good price, even much cheaper than the price in Japan domestic market.

      • how do you tell?

If you could read Japanese, Yodobashi is the biggest shop in Japan.

Damn you, 28d. I don't need a new watch but these deals are very good, best I have seen for some of them.

  • My $1200 eco drive died after about 18 months. As my dad is a jeweller, his watchmaker friend explained it's quite difficult and much more expensive to replace the solar module. Beware, although at this price - you wouldn't care.

    • +9

But these come with 5 year warranty

    • What do you mean by solar module, are you talking about the battery or the solar panel in the watch face?
Also weren't you covered under warranty?

      • No I wasn't covered under the warranty, something weird. It's the panel itself. No physical damage or anything, can't remember why it wasn't covered. I'm really sick of people downvoting because you don't like hearing about a bad experience… Just giving you a heads up. In the future, I'd opt to swap batteries- the technology is not foolproof.

        • +7

Geez, I certainly would remember if I had a $1200 watch fail after 18 months and not be covered under a 5 year warranty !!!!!!!

And no external physical damage - as an Ozbargainer you should have taken it to the ACCC.

Post any email correspondence you have re warranty rejection and I'm sure an Ozbargain warrior will take it up for you or give you advice.

        • @pencilman: thanks pencil man! This was about 8 years ago, it's well and truly out of warranty now. There was a lot of phone calls and physical letters (predated emails being commonplace). Wish I'd been an ozbargainer and known my rights then! Thanks to the community here, and lots of reading :)

        • I'm not sure about Citizen, but Casio solar watches are extremely durable and reliable. I guess you had some bad luck there.

Before you make the purchase make sure you compare the price to Starbuy. The watch I bought from Starbuy is $50 cheaper than on what's in eBay. Can't remember if they had an extra promo during that time though.

Bought! $59.80 for an Eco-drive watch is pretty cheap!
Hardest part was choosing the colour of the strap and splash of colour on the dial.

    • haha..
And the shipment was very Fast!!
I bought the blue eco- drive (after discount@$70)

Catch of the Day have 20% off on their eBay store atm and have some decent watch deals.

My picks are the Casio Pro Trek for $130 delivered: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Casio-PRO-TREK-PRG-300-1A2DR-47mm…

and this titanium Citizen Eco-Drive looks pretty nice for $250 delivered (over $100 cheaper than the store OP listed): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Citizen-Mens-Eco-Drive-Titanium-D…

    • Yep. I grabbed that one. Been looking for a while and it's the best price I've seen it for.

  • Why does it cost more for a blokes watch?

    • +2

Ladies pay more for bags, and guys pay more for watches

  • I found the eco-drive I'd been eyeing off (BJ8075-58F) on Ebay from COTD. Ended up being $250 delivered with the CHOICE20 code. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/322206500171

Would have been $290 with this deal and $280 from Starbuy.

Bought the Eco-Drive BV1085-14E. Thanks for the post.

  • Are you still able to use the coupon if you've been given a successful offer? I tried to offer a lower price, but it got rejected. Then was nervous that the coupon wouldn't work so I didn't try again. Anyone able to confirm?

    • Log in then add it to your cart - go to cart then proceed to checkout where you can apply the code to see if it works without having to commit to the purchase.

      • If you "Make an offer", you don't have the opportunity to try this. Nevertheless, I did buy the BV1085-14E. Thanks :)

  • Has anyone's been shipped yet? I purchased two on the 21st and still yet to be shipped by seller?

    • i bought it on 20/8 received today , urs probably tomorrow i guess

Thanks for that man. I bought steel black chrono for 130 delivered.

    This is for a friend.
