Long time no post for me. Was at Coles in Croydon (VIC, 3136) tonight getting some bacon and noticed the salmon steaks were on special. Thought I'd share this one given Salmon is generally around $29/kg and $10/kg is good value.
Confirmed with Deli/Fishmonger that they over ordered Salmon this week and need to get rid of it all. Be quick, they've put 2 large signs up on the deli to alert people to the deal.
I bought a kg (about 6 steaks). I'll freeze some for next week.

Agreed with this. Having worked in a fish and chip shop where the fish of the day was whatever was oldest, reducing price just means getting rid of stuff before you need to chuck it.
Yeah, I've bought before from Coles and Woolies when marked down and generally they aren't very fresh.
I wouldn't buy.

Coles Fresh is like Nature's Own.
I have never had a bad piece of fish from Coles or Wooles (but a few TERRIBLE experiences with local fish shops on 'reduced' items). I reckon they are pretty paranoid with what they sell reduced and what they chuck out.
