Lenovo deal just came up and IdeaPad 700 is $50 cheaper than previous deal.
Was it going to be too big for a Laptop with 2.7kg?
I doubted that GeForce GT940 would be good enough to go with i7 6700HQ.

Please don't forget 8% cashback from Cashrewards to squeeze more juice out from the deal!

Mod 5/9: Code is available with Cashrewards.

Only good selling point is the quad core processor, and the included 128GB SSD + 1TB storage. FHD IPs display is also a major plus.

Dat battery though, 4 hours stated maximum, probably 3+ hours with some medium usage with that power-hungry quad core processor. Going to have to pack that AC adapter with you wherever you go.

We need another Metabox deal like this one

17 inch laptops aren't exactly meant to be ultra portable with long battery life, they are more considered desktop replacements.

      • Or moveable all-in-one gaming rigs

  • Nice…

And 8% cashback makes it an even better deal.

    • Coupon code isn't on CR's site, so refer to this: "Purchases made with coupon codes not advertised on Cashrewards may result in cashback not being paid."

      • So whats the best way to get this cashback? Contact CR before purchasing??

        • You likely just won't get it…

        • @Spackbace:

I can confirm you actually do get it, that's coming from CR staff

        • @TilacVIP:

Yes, it got changed. 2 days ago now.

  • Link to previous deal (with 58 upvotes and $50 more)

The FHD screen resolution for 17" is terrible!

    • +1

Care to explain why it is terrible?

  • So would this be a good bargain for a solid desktop replacement? I don't really care if it needs to be plugged in, just need a powerful laptop for around the 1k mark.

    • You could build a desktop with the real i7 6700 for cheaper!

      • +2

sorry I meant a desktop that I could carry around with me …

        • -4

That's a laptop then. who carries desktop around?

        • Yeah I think it would. All looks good. I'm really really tempted. I will be lugging this upstairs and downstairs during the day.

I'm looking at one to replace my old Dell XPS 16, it's time.. and I want a 17in, quad core, full HD and at least 8GB RAM. This ticks all the boxes and for the price, I'm close to pulling the trigger. Just looking to find out how or if I can get the 8% cashback??

        • @TilacVIP: Just sign up to CashRewards (a free online referral system that stores rewards received for online transactions in a virtual wallet for you to "cash in" whenever you want) and search for Lenovo (https://www.cashrewards.com.au/lenovo) - the OzBargain devs even made it easier for you by adding a little "Cashback" button under the "Go to Deal" button.

I'm currently waiting for the Kaby Lake cpu / Pascal gpu laptops to arrive and for the Skylake laptops to drop in price, but this with the 8% cashback (and assuming you don't want to use it for gaming or anything graphic-intensive) is a decent deal!

        • @txc88: Thanks for the reply. I am already a member but I think Spackbase is referring to is that since it's a "Coupon" deal from Lenovo, purchaing this via "Cashrewards" won't get you the 8% cashback.

I have sent CR an inquiry about this. See what they say.

  • Have they upped the price on this? Now showing that I can only get it for $1,399.

    • Strange, still showing $1,249.00 for me

      • Just got one for 1,249. Thanks OP.

        • hope you got an extra 8% cashback from CR

        • @TilacVIP:

Yes. I don't know how they calculated it but I got a bit more than that.
