It is almost lowest price in history according to camelcamelcamel(http://camelcamelcamel.com/Haier-Chromebook-11-11-6-Inch-Sto…)

2GB memory is not best one, but it would be plenty for surfacing.

Enjoy

This is pretty much all they should be asking for Chromebooks IMO…

      Rockchip RK3288 1.8 GHz Processor

Most other Chromebooks use much faster CPUs

If by 'most' you mean some; and by 'much' you mean slightly; then yes, they do.

They upshot is that IMO they don't offer great value for money at the usual ~$300 price point, even compared to an entry level real laptop.

Wouldnt mind a couch, bed lappy but not this one. USB type C and min 4 gb ram for me.

      lmao.

Would never get. Apart from the obvious problems (it doesn't work properly without a network) it lets Google even further into you life.

      Same old ignorant comment. Yawn.

If you would never get it, why would you bother coming in to the post?

You will be just as productive on a Windows laptop without a network connection than you will be with a Chromebook. Common misconception.

I use my Chromebook every day. I love it. As someone who games on consoles (I know, I know), it does me fine for torrenting and browsing and basic media capabilities (though I mostly just watch discs or plug my hard drive into my tele) and it's great.

I've had the Toshiba Chromebook 2 for over a year now as my day to day computer and I wouldn't go back to PC / Mac.

This little sucker's only got 2GB of RAM too, but there's nothing to cause slowdown on a Chromey and that's where they shine (and also why I'm afraid of Android coming over, but I'll get to that later), in my time with this computer I've never been asked to install some stupid antivirus bullshit, I've never had to worry about an ad saying my computer has a problem when it wouldn't be worth anyone's time to make a virus for Chromebooks, and it's LIGHTNING fast. Like, holy shit levels of fast. Hit the on button, it's on in 5 seconds and ready to do whatever you want it to do. Combine that with the fact it's incredibly easy to get Linux running on this bitch and you can easily make it into a more "versatile" computer with little to no computing skills required.

On top of all that, Android is not only coming to Chrome OS, but it's already here. Select models now have full OFFICIAL access to the Google Play Store for Android apps and holy shit, when you take THAT into consideration, that one of the largest online stores for games and digital content are available to Chrome OS, all of a sudden Chromeys aren't so useless after all.

But as for going offline. I take it to TAFE every day. I use it every day. It's entirely useless without internet. They can say it's not, they can add all the offline functionality they want, but until you can actually open and edit documents without jumping through a couple of hoops offline, then it's useless offline. I love it, it's great, but without internet, turns out the computer designed mostly to use the internet, is useless.

Very tempting, would love to try the chrome OS. Unfortunately I've got way too many laptops, tablets and phones in my room.

    • My thoughts exactly!!

      • I had one and sold it and went back to Windows and a laptop ….. netbooks and chrome books Microsoft and Google trying to create a market that fitted between a phone and tablet and a laptop so you use their browsers.
