      I agree. May be it's just me but I find the Melbourne bread slightly better than the Sydney one (too crumbly). Also Melbourne seems a little larger? It's probably just all in my head. Also yes 1st world problem.

          I actually find it strange that they enforce the dine-in only rule, like what does it matter where you eat? It's not costing them any more for you to walk out of there. In actual fact, it's more work for you to sit at a table as they put it on the board etc, then wash that up afterwards

          I think people are more obliged to get a drink and/or chips if they dine-in compared to simply getting a burger takeaway. That's how I see it. If they can combo it with chips and a drink they can probably make back some money from the burger cost.

          @gimme: that's a good suggestion. What we did yesterday was go to Hungry Jacks to get free drinks from shake and win app then asked for a bag even though we didn't order a burger, then used that bag to take away the burger we ordered from Grill'd. Problem Solved!

          @Spackbace: every time they open up a new grilld and give away free burgers, they have a dine-in only rule. Burger arrived, and I just wrapped it up with the serviettes on the table and got out of there.

          Or just bring a burger sized container

          @Spackbace: I thought about that too, but I think it puts people off thinking they won't be able to fit it into their lunch break and staff will get slammed with take away orders with people waiting in line so it slows down the flow if there are no seats left?

    We heard a few others did not receive theirs yesterday. We wondered whether they are 'losing' too many burgers and so some days they are not sending some? We got takeaway yesterday and for the whole time they took to make the burgesr, every single order was a Polished Man. They must be giving away thousands a day.

    Got my burger today, had the "Simon Says" pretty tasty! They didn't check the nail and I was offered a choice of takeaway OR eat in.

      Southern Cross was pre-allocating seating and 'forcing' eat-in today, despite being less busy than yesterday. (it's a sunny day, so I assume the grill'd non-polished customers were eating on the lawn nearby).

      "If you're here with the barcode, you have to eat-in, it's in the terms"

      My barcode was scanned today, but not yesterday when there were only two staff on, but it looked like 1/3 staff weren't scanning at all today).

        That's pretty stingy. I don't understand why it is eat in anyway. I prefer to take away rather than sit by myself and the stores are always so busy. Seems like most stores have no problem with offering take away from the comments here.

          The funny thing is, the person pre-allocating seats also mentioned that burgers were getting 'stolen' (eg. people sitting down & claiming orders that were not their own), because they saw people getting free burgers?!

        Yes it seems silly to force eat in. My local store (Mt Lawley WA) was offering takeaway both nights, Wednesday night was noticeably busier even later in the night. You would think they would want to get all the free burger people out of the restaurant and leave the seating for paying customers.

          They scan it as a confirmation that it is valid, but to stop reuse they need to be able to update the central database fast. Not sure about their technical capability.

    Received barcode 3/3 today and my wife signed up last night and got her barcode today as well. I actually used one today in Toowoomba. Had to show nail, no nail polish was available so it had to be done before you went, voucher was scanned, wasn't offered takeaway (was happy to dine in anyway). My wife used my voucher yesterday to get a burger for our daughter - same deal, but when she said that she was actually on the way to pick up my daughter from Scouts, they offered her takeaway. I estimate half the people I saw dining in today had the painted nail.

    Gf just got her voucher too! we went to grill'd at around 1pm because i had my free one, she explained the situation and showed them yesterday's voucher and they knew she was genuine so they gave her a free one anyway!

    also cheers to tonestar for being nice enough to send a free one through a few hours ago through private message, i just saw it now and sent a message back advising the situation.

    I was able to get takeaway every day by phoning in a takeaway order, then showing the barcode at payment time :) They didn't even mention the eat-in only restriction.
