I was informed about them few days ago, not too bad for that price with 2-day battery life and shatter-proof screen

      • Moto x Force cheaper at Mobileciti?

        • @OzSikhs:
Dammit they are out of stock…do you think they will get anymore of this model in? This is the first I've even heard of this model!

        • @OzSikhs:
          Thanks, bought one.

        • @KupoHo:

I think i got the last one

display and embedded lens are warranted against shattering and cracking for four (4) years from the original date of purchase

4 year warranty on the screen. Wow

    • Looks an interesting phone for the price:
      Screen: 1440 x 2560 pixels
5-Mics with active noise cancellation support

Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 is this the one that had lots of problems?

      No fingerprint reader :(

I knew there had to be a catch. Otherwise it was ticking so many boxes.

      • Doesnt need a finger print reader, when you can use the "Force".

LG Nexus 5X is my top choice for an Au stock + pure Android + 24 month local warranty + just under $400, the only - is 16GB storage but can extend with microUSB drive though

    • -1

Are you sure it has a microsd card slot…?

      • +1

microUSB, not microSD ;). you can purchase those dual-head usb stick (one end with full-size usb and other end with microSD size), which you can plug into your phone for extended storage

    • +1

I have a Nexus 5X 32GB that my son is about to inherit. I like the 5X but I am not sure that a 16GB version at $399 is good value anymore given the options available now? If the budget can be stretched a bit (like $100+, you can get more updated phones; I just saw L5 G5 now available for $500+!

  • +2

Not micro SD, it definitely doesn't have that, he said micro usb…

    • Ahh okay, I thought that's what he meant haha my bad

    • +5

      Doesnt have microusb or microsd..

  • intending to pull trigger to Z5 Premium, anyone has advice? thanks.

    • +1

better wait for XZ (newest) model but if you can't wait, this is an OK price for Z5 Pre

      • +3

        Thanks for the suggestion buddy.

        just watched the review video

noticed that the 810 cpu is getting hot easily, shuts down apps quickly…. might still wait for the drop of Nexus 6p or HuaWei p9

        • +2

800 for z5 premium with 810 is an absolute joke as its last gen.

        • Huawei p9 is around 500 bux on ebay now.

        • @arctan: Wow, getting so cheap now…. 6P or P9 which one your rekon Bro?

    • +3

Sony Z5 Premium is $680.22 at Mobileciti eBay with C10AUS code

    • Avoid Sony smartphones, if you ask me. All of my friends who own/has owned Sony phones, they have ended up hating them. Bugs, laggy, and apps no operating as they should.

      Good luck!

LG phones always have good price or I should say the price drops very quick.

And their phones likely to have problem all the time.

My experience was I bought a Nexus 5 through Google before and it has problem of the camera about 3 months later. They replaced it for me and the second phone also have the camera problem just out of box, that it keep crashing when opening camera. They replaced it again and I have used it for a few months then it did not turn on anymore 3 days after updating to Android 6. They replaced it again. This time the package arrived damaged. The phone looked still good but the camera did not focus at all after testing. This time I asked for refund as I said it was replaced many many times and no one were good. They refunded in full! (Luckily)

Later on my friend bought a G4 and it turned off one day and did not able to turn on again. Since it was not a AU stock (parallel imports) so unlucky he did not has any covers. He took it to a phone repairs shop and found it is the the logic broad. The phone shop told him that they repaired many G4 have this problem and advise my friend to sell it after repairs. He sold it after that.

One more case my another friend that is the Nexus 4. The screen was not working 2 months after warranty expired..

As long as it is AU stock, I would say it is ok as you can at least able to send back for repaired free of charge (But need to wait…..). Their quality could be improved on 5X. Who knows? But don't try to buy a LG phone without warranty.

My nexus 5 was faultless for 2.5 years.

I'm fact it's still fine I just decided to upgrade

      • +7

        You were just lucky

        • +1

          Haha.

          agree.

      • +1

Really? You had no problems at all over more than 720 days. That doesn't sound very believable.

      • +1

Same, Nexus 5 still going strong… Awesome phone

      • No way, its still better than iOS

  • sony xa is really beautiful ……………………..

    • +3

Yes, plastic casing with 720p display.

  • +31

I bet these all have the cowardly 3.5mm shame-hole.

    • -1

just got a sony expedia z3 compact tablet ….. its ultra thin …… but yeah it's the thickness of the headset jack 3.5mm ….. so as they make phones and tablets thinner this will be limiting factor unless they dump it

    • +1

Shouldn't speak about your mama like that

      • At least we know you'll fit.

  • Not a good price for Z5P.

  • -6

Lumia 640XL what a load of rubbish.

    • +7

What's wrong with it? Don't buy if you don't want.

  • -2

Ordered the 5X from eBay for under 290$ from DWI few days ago

    • when your phone plays up, that $100 extra would be your super saver :), also, you have 2 years in warranty instead of 1 and shipping hassles too to deal with

      • How are officeworks the good guys to deal with in terms of warranty for problems? My ma needs a new phone and I'm eyeing off the moto G 3rd gen for her.

  • The 640xl was $250 online and instore three days ago at officeworks

    • +2

most Officeworks had no stock back then, they only put sales on when stock limited :)

      • That's not the point, my store had shertloads of them and it is cheaper

  • LG Nexus or Sony XA would be better?

    • Nexus: 1080P screen (720P in the XA), faster CPU, stock Android + no waiting for latest releases.

Xperia XA: Micro SD card support…

      I'd go for the 5X.

  • No Nexus 5X in perth :(

  • Would anyone happen to know if the AP version of the Nexus 5X would work with Google's Project Fi?

Looking for cheap global roaming options and that was a potential option but I would want local AU bands if I decided to use Aldi or Boost if I stop using Project Fi.

  • Ahhh Webtherapist

The 99 dollar PS Vita man!

  • +1

Nexus 5x, For extra $98 you can get 32GB from officeworks.

  • Lumia 640XL is $250 from Officeworks now. It's better if OP update that so members can get it even cheaper.
