        If you're talking about the way they handled that from a customer service perspective, fair call. I'm sure they learnt plenty from a crisis management perspective. But from an operational point of view? DnD's plans were not sustainable, and indeed they came to VIP asking to be bailed out. (Apologies to Dean Walsh if this isn't correct). I know it's not enjoyable as a customer to experience that, but you can't expect a business to maintain that which isn't sustainable.

      9 cents eh? I assume you mean 9 cents… times 11, then add another cent. $1 might not seem like much but considering I use you as an email server it meant a 20% increase in price per month for an option I don't want, don't use and can't opt out of.

      You could at least be honest about it.

  Damn I only just paid for my domain for the next 9 years yesterday on Zuver, if only I knew then.

  Does anyone know if this special applies if you transfer back from Zuver? Was a previous 9web buyer then went to Zuver for the price but now Ventra is cheaper lol.

  Whilst OzBargain is all about bargains, purchasing web hosting based on price alone is a huge mistake. I highly recommend VentraIP in terms of reasonable pricing for a highly reliable service with high standards of customer support.

  75% off WHM Multi hosting is a huge deal, $119.85 for a year instead of $479.40. I am tempted.

    It is a shame they don't look after their existing customers with decent discounts. I have been with them for the last 2.5 years and although their cust service is good at full price it is too much to pay for what is basically a hobby.

    I'm currently on the lookout for another company to transfer toward the end of my 3rd year.

      they look after you by keeping your site online and by keeping the servers going
      I am not sure what you expect out of a hosting company, sure its a good feeling having a small discount applied for renewal but have you actually spoken to the team and asked them to help you out, I am sure they could come to some arrangement

      Complaining here really doesn't do you any favours, they do offer Zuver which is their budget line of hosting and its fine for the hobbiest sites I run, good pricing too, you just can't expect them to slash 50% off because you feel the right to it being an existing customer

      I am sure the service has been reliable for you and whilst there are other cheaper options I keep coming back to ventraIP based on their overall service, uptime, bandwidth amounts and pricing, you do get what you pay for and I am sure they (VentraIP) would love to offer you something as an existing customer if you are polite about it and simply raise your concern via a ticket.

      Which costs too much, the domain hosting or the web hosting? Everybody pays the same for domain hosting, bar a little discount here and there and if it's a .com.au domain, it's a business expense.

      For web hosting for sure there are cheaper alternatives, including Zuver, but you get what you pay for. If it's a personal site you could wait until CAW and register a new site.

        I register my domains through another company but my hosting stays with Zuver aka VentraIP
        prices are cheaper overseas for domains but do remember you get what you pay for and I have had some horrible experiences and usually just go through VentraIP directly

        It all depends on your business, anyone seriously running a website for their business would probably go through a bigger company with more swing on pricing but in no way is VentraIP a bad choice, I have had nothing but good experiences with every step of my hosting journey, any issues I did have they have always offered a fix or credit etc

        domain prices vary based on a few factors though, most companies register their domain 10 years in advance to benefit from the best pricing and assurance their domain won't be taken if it lapsed for a certain period
