  • interesting, it ships from NZ?

  • Is it worth spending the extra $60?

    • depends on the res you play in, FHD is good for near future with 4gb, 4k will need 8gb

      • The build I've got in my cart is a i7 6700 (non-k), 16GB DDR4…etc. Just looking for a solid card to round out the build.

        I seriously doubt I'd ever game in 4K. I don't even own a 4K monitor!

        • +1

honestly, the bang for buck for this card at this price is insane, it beats the titan black edition on ranking, currently ranks 19th of every video card ever released. with that much ram 4gb is more than adequate for FHD

        • @Balls:

          Thanks man. Appreciate it!

      • This will not produce playable frame rates at 4K, and neither would the 8GB version.

    • generally it's enough for 1080p, but there are exceptions

      https://www.computerbase.de/2016-09/grafikkarten-speicher-vr…

theres a table at the bottom where they test ram usage on a 480, you might wanna turn on translation too.

tldr of it is: 3gb is no where near enough for the games tested, and 4gb is cutting it close for these vram hungry games

damn you rx480 for the price of a rx470

    cant lose here… bought!

  • I thought about getting the sapphire nitro, but there is reviews out that that this card runs hot (77'degrees) and thats why i personally passing on it
this is not to take away from it being a great price though

    • I've heard that this is only if you push the card to its limits and overclock.

check out toms hardware's gpu hierarchy to see where this sits:

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html

I've always followed their advice of "I don’t recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least three tiers higher."

there's also this list here that has nvidia and ati's in ranked order:

    http://www.overclock.net/t/502403/graphics-card-ranking

    • Interesting…so the RX480 is only a tier above my 7950, yet I'm seeing benchmarks all over saying it's a 50-70% improvement over the 7950…dammit confused now.

      • its 2 tiers higher.

I am still using CF 6850 but its time when the high end ATI come next year. haha

Think i'm gonna pull the trigger on this…. would be nice to actually be able to use freesync!

  • Dont forget you will get the Battlefield 1 ‘Early Enlister Deluxe Edition’ upgrade with the 480, still need the base game but.

  • Is this the cheapest deal yet? or has it gone lower than this.

  • damn that's cheap, i didnt expect these kinda prices so soon. now i kinda regret pulling the trigger on a 1070 so soon

  • All gone?

  • Anyone's order shipped yet? I'm guessing it'll be here sometime next week..
