Wow…. I can't believe the horseshit on their website justifying this - women retire earlier and live longer so they need more super?
May as well say "Men work longer and die alot earlier…. Sucks to be them… Lets give them less money."
Their statement that men retiring now have twice as much super is misleading because when those men and women were working - there was the notion of the 'breadwinner'.
TBH… Some of their points re: E.g maternity have some validity and paying super during these times is a great step - but it should be noted that upon Divorce super is divisible so differences that arise from family circumstances are negated.
The biggest winners from this policy are spinsters and the biggest losers gay and single men whose personal circumstances are alike (no family leave issues) and yet the spinsters are far better off.
