ANZ QFF Black CC 75,000 QFF Points ($2,500 Spend in 3 Months) @ $0 First Year

1241

It's back, for those who last cancelled the ANZ credit card more than 12 months ago.

75,000 points when you spend $2,500 on purchases within the first 3 months.

For an example of what 75,000 points can get you, see thegeekinasuit's comment.

No annual fee for the first year.

There's some doubt as to whether this is applicable if you don't have an Internet Banking account with ANZ. Although it's labelled "Internet Banking Offer", nothing in the terms and conditions suggests this as an actual condition. Many anecdotes on this AFF forum thread also support the understanding that this offer is available even if you don't have an ANZ internet banking account. If you don't want to take the risk, open a free & no fee account with ANZ. Either way, the letter of offer will confirm whether you have an annual fee, and how much. Normal fee is $425.

Set a reminder for yourself to cancel before the 12 months mark. Or just cancel when you get your 75,000 bonus points.

Before you do, though, don't forget to claim this.

  • Get two complimentary Qantas Club lounge invitations each year for use when flying on Qantas or Jetstar.

Minimum income requirement for ANZ's Black cards seem to be $75,000. The minimum credit limit is $15,000.

This deal should be compatible with ANZ Rewards Travel Adventures CC + 40,000 Velocity Points + 1 Free Return Virgin Flight Per Year + No Int Trans Fees = $225 Fee if you want to double dip.

Update [18/10/2016]: I have received this card, and got verbal confirmation over the phone about eligibility for the waived annual fee 1st year and the 75,000 points promotion. I opened this account without having any other ANZ accounts (except a CC cancelled >12 months ago). Several others have also confirmed this in the comments.

        • @Love a bargain:

          Thanks for the explanation :)

Having two cards means I'll have to spend $5k to qualify for the points which I don't think I'll reach so just want the max benefit from one option.

    anyone got the points yet?

  • Went to ANZ branch today ask for this deal. They no longer offer $0 annual fee for the first year. So going to wait for another deal happen then.

      But this is online only

      • Thanks for that. I actually didn't try to apply online. Maybe I am missing something in the T&C, it didn't say the anything about $0 annual fee for the first year at all.

      • Hi There, you are right, I did look at again closely, if I went to ANZ website and go through credit card section this offer is not there. But if I select offer then this one appeared. Thanks a lot. I will give a go. Cheers

Anyone else get an offer letter stating there is a $375 fee and no waiver mentioned?

      • Thanks. It does seem we have a very different set of letters though… I will double check nonetheless.

  • Just want to reiterate from the post above.

The annual fees and additional card holder fees - it first states the fees and then there's a statement that says "…fees are not applicable in the first year". Double check your letter offer. There were two sets of letters, it's the second set that has title "letter of offer" that says that.

  • top notch anz website. first it has a "system failure" when i open account and get to verifying identity section (for which the guy at anz said theres absolutely no record of, its just all been lost, despite getting an email regarding it), next after 20 minutes of filling in the application, the website is down "for maintenance"…

    • I found that when it says it's down for maintenance, it isn't really, it just means "oops, we somehow can't process your request right now. try again".

      • yeah it probably sounds more appeasing than "we still have bugs/issues with our website but sounds legit to have random maintenance all the time" :)

I've just spent $2,500. Does anyone know how long until the points are credited to the QFF account?
Also, with the lounge passes? Do they have an expiry date?
I have thinking of cancelling the card asap (can't be bothered transferring money in and out of the ANZ accounts to avoid the monthly fee), hence the above questions.

    Cheers

fine print says: "The bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your ANZ account within three months of the eligible spend criteria being met."

  • why isnt anyone going with the progress saver option for the "account to create netbanking?" its no monthly fee, just keep $10 in it…

    • +1

don't even need to keep $10 in it

  • Would anyone be able to upload a copy of their letter of offer where it says the first year fee is waived? ANZ Fyshwick is being very difficult, insisting i have a copy of a flyer to evidence this offer :-( thank you in advance.

    • Did you get an offer letter?

Usually you get two letters, one with the card and the other the letter offer.

Why are you in a branch, buddy? This is an internet banking offer, so I doubt there are physical flyers. The website seems to still display the offer, so take screenshots, then call up their call centre and check. Forget the physical branches, they don't tend to be very helpful.

      • my old anz online account was disabled, so i had to goto a branch (calling up didn't do it for me)
        they were quite helpful..

    • you can use the below which shows no annual fee

      thydzik.com/IB promo Frequent Flyer Black _ ANZ.pdf

      • Thank you+!

  • Just over a month with the card now, spent the required amount in first month, statement shows the 75k points

  • Just got my cards and confirmed over the phone that I am indeed eligible for the 75k QFF points and waived annual fee. Persons name has been noted!

  • still no points, called up and said within 3 months.

i think they are getting cluey, as previously it was always next statement cycle after the minimum spend.

  • signed up for this in October, now they are saying we aren't eligible for the free annual card fee for the first year. Apparently the promo was in June, then stopped for a short period and started again in November.

We signed up in October…. surely if they left the page up then they have to honour the deal…

anyone else have this issue… they are being pretty stubborn about it.

    • ended up getting it waived after going through to complaints and threatening to transfer all of my banking out of ANZ due to the poor experience and customer service. They are pretty adamant about it not being in the promo period though. Seems silly since no dates on the page and the fact that the page was still up there… surly that's false advertising… one for good old ombudsman id say if you have trouble.
