$20 in Bitcoin and $5 in Reward Points for Referrers and Referees @ CoinJar

510

Looks like a repeat of this deal, but CoinJar have completely rebuilt their Refer-a-Friend system to make it smoother and more reliable (last time I believe a lot of people had to put manual claims in).

Get a $20 BTC Bonus with a New Referral Link! Bitcoin Hits US$115,000!
Bitcoin (BTC) reached an unprecedented milestone, breaking through the $115,000 barrier. It’s another all-time-high price that early investors couldn’t even dream of, let alone arrive at.

Those who have HoDLed like crazy hoarders since the early days feel less like nutters on a sinking get-rich-quick ride to Crazy Town.

To celebrate Bitcoin’s latest all-time-high price, we are spinning out this promotion to our CoinJar customers.

You can REFER A FRIEND and we’ll give you BOTH $20 in Bitcoin and also give you BOTH $5 in Reward points.

This offer is valid until 21/07/2025 at 23:59 (AEDT). The $20 bonus will be added to your and your friends CoinJar accounts by 26/07/25.

Terms and conditions apply.

Important: A New Referral Link

We’ve rebuilt our Refer-a-Friend system from the ground up to make it smoother and more reliable. This means better tracking and faster rewards when someone uses your link to join CoinJar.

Your old referral link has now been replaced – so to keep earning, you’ll need to grab your new one.

Here’s how to get your new referral link:

  1. Log in to your CoinJar account
  2. Go to the the “More” button
  3. Hit “Invite Friends and Earn Rewards”
  4. Hit “Share Referral Link”
  5. Share it with friends and family.

When you refer a friend and they sign up and verify their ID before 21/07/25, you’ll both receive 20 bucks in BTC and 500 CoinJar Reward Points. That’s $5 worth of rewards for both you and your friend.

From 22/07/25 you’ll both receive 500 CoinJar Reward Points without the BTC bonus.

Use your points instantly in the CoinJar Rewards Store – redeem them for:
- Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, DOGE, WIF, Pepe and more
- Gift cards from Wish, Amazon, Bunnings, Uber Eats, Airbnb and more
- CoinJar trading fees and crypto withdrawal fee discounts.

To find your points, just open the CoinJar app and scroll down to “CoinJar Rewards”.

This is clearly a sign from the universe to you to go refer a mate and get a shiny new $20 in Bitcoin and $5 in rewards.
Here’s to more wins, and more trading success for you!

Please Note: Referrer MUST have CoinJar Rewards activated before adding their referral link

Stuipd me installed app without clicking referral

    • Did you go through whole signup process?

  • When does the $20 get credited? Where to view the extra $5 (500 points) ?

    • On the Home Screen in the App at the very bottom it says ‘CoinJar Rewards’ - the points should be listed there.

      • I dont have coinjar rewards

        • iPhone or Android?

On iPhone there is a section called 'Your CoinJar' which shows:

          • Accounts
          • CoinJar Bundles
          • CoinJar Exchange
          • CoinJar REwards
      • 0.0000 BTC

    • The $20 bonus will be added to your and your friends CoinJar accounts by 26/07/25.

  • I cant login, sends a email to approve login, snd opens app every time i login to websites

  • Good website. Great rewards system

On mobile, the ozbargain referral button redirects to AppStore… there's nowhere to put in a referrer? So downloaded the app and signed up.

All I see is 500 rewards points.

Just tried on desktop and you sign up via a form there… is this what you're meant to do to get the referral bonus???

    • +1

They say rewards are tracked via cookie, so when you click on a referral, that referral is linked

  • +1

CoinJar Rewards is activated automatically when you make your first buy or sell on CoinJar. In order to be eligible for CoinJar Rewards, you'll first need to be fully verified.

Once signed in to your CoinJar, navigate to your Accounts page.
Make any buy or sell with any account to activate your CoinJar Rewards.

I THINK THE OP SHOULD EXPLAIN THIS

You need to deposit and buy in order for rewards to work

So if you signed up from someone who hasnt done this, im not sure yoj will get rewards

    • This user mentioned they got the 500 pts without making any purchases

I've had an account with CoinJar for a while, so I can't really share my person experience in this instance as I have already made a buy/sell some time ago

I have 2 referrals and nothing, i just made a trade and the rewards show up in the app, but 0$

  • No reward points or BTC showing for me.
    I followed these steps:
    1. Used referral link to create account
    2. Verified identity
    3. Deposited AUD via PayID
    4. Purchased some BTC

I don't even see a 'rewards section' in the android app home screen, nor in the web app.

    • Did your friend verify their identity?

When you refer a friend and they sign up and verify their ID before 21/07/25, you’ll both receive 20 bucks in BTC and 500 CoinJar Reward Points. That’s $5 worth of rewards for both you and your friend.

      • I think, in my case, I should be the 'friend' because I used the referral link. So whomever posted the link should receive the rewards and so should I. Unless I've misunderstood things.

        • +1

It also says "The $20 bonus will be added to your and your friends CoinJar accounts by 26/07/25."
          I haven't received anything either…

EDiT: I just received my 500 points, $20 of BTC not received as of yet though.

          • +1

            @koalafied: Thanks mate.
No luck for me. I suppose what may have happened for me is that the person who's referral the Ozbargain random link gave me hadn't completed verification, perhaps making the referral invalid, like @Silentninja7 suggested above.
            Bummer.

When will my shitcoins moon lambo? I was told in 2017 all my shitcoins had use case and blockchain tech that will change the world. I haven't used a single shitcoin in 8 years and I have over 100. When bro, when use case bro?

    • Sell them all and buy Bitcoin. There is no second best.

    • Pretty much every shitcoin mooned sometime since 2017

Referral rewards aside. Hows the interface and fees like compared to coinspot?

    • +1

fees are lower than coinspot, the only benefit i saw with coinspot is it has uncapped withdrawals. With coinjar it is $100k per day i think. Both feel very minimal in interface

    • +1

Yes that’s why I mentioned in the OP that they seemed to have fixed the issues with the referral system. I’ve had one referral come through from this deal so I think it’s working (got push notification and email).

      • You need to mention that the referrer MUST have Coinjar rewards activated before adding their referral link

        • Thanks, added.

  • Looks like 1% trading fees (or more if you are paying from a credit card instead of depositing AUD into you CoinJar account).
Cheaper alternatives out there - eg Swyftx at 0.6% or OKX at 0.5%.
Will still investigate further before taking my referral bonuses and running - eg, their trading prices seem to be lower than Swyftx (so good for a buy, not so much for a sell), but their trading volumes appear lower, although I may be reading that wrong - it's only been a minute :-)

Day1x is based in Melbourne and has just dropped their fee price to 0.1% flat rate

The app is expensive, but if you transfer to Coinjar Exchange they are one of the cheapest exchanges in Australia.
      Use https://www.coinstacker.com.au/ to compare fees/spread

      • I saw that link to Coinjar Exchange from within my account (on desktop - haven't used the app yet).
So does Coinjar Exchange charge different fees to the app - but all with the same login?
I mean, I will look into myself, but any input from someone already in the know is appreciated :-)

    • I didn't purchase and got 500 points. How can I track the referral? I used a link from the Ozbargain referral system.

  • From reading the comments this deal seems like a clusterpuck.

Can someone in the know please post step by step simple instructions?

  • Some of the doubt stems from non successful tracking since the sign up requirements are simple.

To sign up successfully via referral, just ensure you are using a web browser which has absolutely no adblocking or tracking extensions enabled, as VPN add-ons, adblock add-ons and the like can cause issues.

Just use something like Google Chrome, make sure no extensions (add-ons) are enabled as mentioned above and ensure cookies are enabled.

Click the referral generator, sign up via referral link, verify ID, wait for bonuses.

  • This morning I got "500 points" added by referral bonnus, so I guess it's a waiting game to see whether the BTC comes along with it by the 26th.

  • -1

I am not rich but $20 I dont have any incentive

  • Well, I've given it a shot! Got my 500 coinjar rewards, will wait for the 26th.

Anyone know how to use the '500 points' ?

    • +1
      • Thanks! hah, 1000x minimum.

        • +1

They also offer using points for transfers, so instead of paying fee or incurring a capital gains event when you transfer out of the exchange to self custody you can just use a few points.

    • You can use it to pay for fees when you sell your BTC

    • You probably need to wait for somebody else to use your referral code and then cash out the 1000 points

  • +1

How are people signing up, are you clicking the referral link on mobile phone browser, which opens play store to download app and go from there or doing it all via computer?

Just checking to see if the mobile route is tracking referrals successfully.

  • Have you used crypto reward credit cards in Aus?

    • The Coinjar card isn’t great, you pay 1% and get 1% back in points. Bybit card has 3% fees but sometimes the points are worthwhile

  • Signed up using the referral generator, and also received a referral but I have yet to receive points. Sad face.

  • Still waiting for their promotional team to respond to my ticket after 5+ days regarding tracking. Not very happy with this one

  • +1

    The $20 BTC has arrived.
    Thank you OP.

  • +1

    My 20 has arrived

  • $20 credited but can't withdraw. Says to link bank account so I've sent a deposit from my bank but just shows pending
