  • Amex offer stacks if use this code and through app?

    • Should do. AMEX is only concerned with if your spend was >$50 to give the credit.

    • +4

Just make sure you don't pay with Visa Checkout or PayPal. Must be Scoopon direct (i.e. enter your CC right in)

  • +2

Not valid for Scoopon Local Accommodation, Scoopon Travel and Scoopon Shopping purchases.

    and what's left ???

      Local Deals… Restaurants, etc etc

      The opposite of right?

  • does this just need the code 'getappy' to be entered into the checkout i.e. on the website portal? or must one actually use the scoopon app with the code and enter the manual amex cc details to get both to stack?

    • Have to purchase on the app

      • ok thanks. drats going to have to clear space to redownload it.

guess 10% off is decent. was eyeing a $79 3 course dinner coupon for down in the swan valley here for the mrs, brings it down to $72 and the $15 android pay is effectively $57 for two people for 3 courses. Not bad for a day out and some brownie points.

i assume as long as you 'buy' the scoopon by the cutoff in october, it can be used in november i.e. restaurant booked and scoopon redeemed as this is all about the payment side?

        • Yeah the scoopon listing should state the validity period :)

        • @Spackbace:
yeah, basically the 10% off is for buying a scoopon by the 22 october or whatever it was, but the usage of scoopon is determined by its individual terms and conditions/expiry date - as it normally would be.

          thanks :)

        • @SaberX:

10% off is only on for the next day…

        • @Spackbace:

sorry must have confused it with the android pay thing recently commented/looked at. your right - i do remember seeing it valid for the next 24 hours only. cheers

        • +4

@ saberx I would recommend you call the place first and ask for the same deal without buying from scoopon.

This way they are more generous with the food bc they don't have to pay any commission to scoopon

        • @easternculture: Hi EC, have you had any first hand experience on doing this? I heard rumors that all of these deals of the day websites (Scoopon, Groupon, etc) could get as much as 50% commission of the the total sales. So if a deal is selling for $ 10, Scoopon would get $ 5 and the businesses who actually have to provide goods and services would get the other $ 5.

Now I understand why these websites are able to to give 10-20% discount to customers (Plus Cash Rewards) frequently.

          @Gorodemon:

I always ask before I buy a group deal . 80% of times they say yes and are very happy

I've also had restaurants that have told me to come in and just ask for the deal without buying the voucher

        • +2

          @Gorodemon:
Yes, Scoopon and Groupon took 50% commission from the sales.

Still, some restaurant will get a little bit back when people are forget to redeem that voucher

        • @easternculture:

Wow good to know the number thanks EC!

        • @fomal:

They actually don't get paid until the customers redeems the voucher at the restaurant I was told

So scoopon will pocket the money's if people forget

        • @easternculture:
yeah you're right, just confirmed to my friend who work for Groupon,
restaurant only get money from the redeemed vouchers and Groupon took 30% of the total redeemed value.

Scoopon should have roughly same number

        • @fomal: You're right. The commission depends on the type of service. For some deals, Scoopon will receive 100% commission.

        • @the.piemaker: wait what, 100% commission? what kind of category is that?

        • @fomal: Usually gym memberships/fitness classes. If it's not 100%, it would still be really high, like 80-90%.

        • @the.piemaker:
Ah gotcha, basicly the subscription service stuff

        • @easternculture:
How often has this worked for you? I've asked before at a few places and they all said the deal was only available with the voucher.

        • @myisk:

When I book at Indian, Nepalese and lebeanese restaurants they are fine with it. Just ask to speak with manager or owner

Will there be a better discount incoming next few weeks from scoopon rather than using their app?

  • +5

Bought $79 voucher via APP. Received 10% off discount at checkout and Amex $15 credit email to confirm the purchase.

    • what voucher did you buy?

      • +3

It is laser hair reduction for my wife :)

        • +1

          Win/win :)

        • As in you are getting laser hair reduction for the benefit of your wife?

I'm trying to book 2 adults and two children Melbourne star tickets however the app doesn't allow me to book adult and children tickets together to bring the purchase over $50 and to qualify for amex credit. Emailed scoopon and they said multiple orders can't be done. Frustrating.

    • Terms have always been there in my post:

Coupon redeemable once per account, for one deal only.

      • Yeah i read that and i only want one deal- Melbourne star tickets but the app doesn't let me purchase adult and child tickets together. My main gripe is i can't get the order over $50 for the amex. Sorry if I'm complaining.

        • +1

Lol all good I can understand

        • +1

@Spackbace: no worries, just decided to buy my child an adult ticket for $3.50 more so i could spend $50 and get the $15 back. All good. Thanks for posting.

        • +1

You can spend $50+ in one or more transactions.
