  • Looks good and im in the market once I flash my old xbox hdd back to stock firmware.

    • Huh?

I tried upgrading my xboxone (I presume you mean xboxone) internal hdd to 2tb. It appeared to work, but everything was misbehaving.

So if there is non-stock firmware, then I presume there's a way to install the OS? Meaning I can now upgrade to my 2tb drive?

      • xbox 360 drive lol only 320 gig drive i think

        • Ok thanks :)

500gb and not being able to upgrade yourself was truly a joke for an xboxone.

  • Thanks Clear

        • yup, got it. was obvious once pointed out.

slinks off into the shame corner

  • +5

Tempting but most of my hard drives are 3.5". Any deals on a 3.5" enclosure?

  • +5

    OP username checks out…

  • Unless this is made from a revolutionary new form of metal, I'm going to pass

    • +3

Trans… parent… ill oom in um?

      • +2

        As used in nuclear wessels?

  • Will it fit a 12.5 mm thick HDD?

    • +9

might be tighter than a walrus balls deep in a rubber seal

  • +9

I can see right through this deal…

    • +2

      Just like John Cena

  • What about heat?

  • The all important question: Is it clear of BPA?

    • +6

Do you intend on putting it in your mouth? ORICO operate in Australia so I would hope that it is fine.

      • +3

I put a lot of things in my mouth, I need to know if most of it is non-toxic.

        • -1

I am sure you put a lot of things in your mouth on a regular basis…

        • +7

          @GreatWhiteHunter:

I am sure you take what someone else says, rewrites it back without originality to seem humorous on a regular basis.

    • +3

This isn't a water bottle mate.

      • +1

Does it have lots of little holes? If not, it's good to use in case of a water bottle crisis.

    • +2

It so better be organic plastic.

      • Exactly, none of that artificial crap for me!

    • -1

Ahh, negative Nelly has showed up.

        Hongkong Post - (7-45 days)

There is a reason it takes so long to arrive. The cheapest shipping option is the slowest.

      • Still waiting for this to arrive

    • +3

      Same here still bloody waiting

    • I have received mine last Friday.

      • +1

Lucky you, I received an email last Friday saying mine has been shipped. 7-45 days to go. First and probably last time I order anything from them.

    • +1

I've complained about this too.. they seem to have the "lowest prices" out there compared to the other dropship competitors but it seems like they really do get someone to row boat it to Australia or something (well.. it is surface mail nonetheless). In order to get it quicker as per the competition, you will have to select the next option up for the shipping (Expedited). usually $5-10 more (also putting the cost up to the same or worse then the competition).

      • +1

They probably wait until they sell multiple units before they ship them out to make maximum profit out of the sale and cover shipping costs by sending them to Australia on the same boat/plane/carrier pelican.

        • You are right. I have noticed that some of the packages actually come from Chullora NSW using Auspost. Maybe they pile it up at the depot before it is resent via local mail (which takes another few days).

        • @bchliu: It's usually cheaper to send something to Australia from China than it is to send it domestically within Australia.

      • +4

they really do get someone to row boat it to Australia

Our poor enclosures must be on Manus Island for detention :(

      • I've got a few items in one order and it's been 5 days already

They probably wait for everything to arrive in their warehouse together then ship it

I guess I'll be waiting some time

        • +1

I just got my enclosure from the other deal!
They couldn't stop the boats! :D
          From 17/09 to 25/10.
          That's 5 weeks delivery time D:

  • Been a month and still haven't received my order from the last zapals enclosure deal. Avoid this store if you expect decent service.

"2139U3 is made of transparent ASB fireproof material ……………….."

Safe to use with 2.5" Samsung drives.

    • +1

Also Safe to use with Exploding Samsung Batteries. :P

  • +1

will this fit my samsung ssd 750?

    • +1

      Yep.

My last deal's order is still in processing!!!
I've just live chat and was told "item has been returned by shipping company"
I asked why it's still showing 'processing'. They didn't answer but insisted that it will be reshipped.
I said I want refund and immediately the answer is "it has been reshipped"

    • I did not received mine either.

  • +2

I recently received the enclosures that I bought from the last deal that was posted. The store and product are ok, just slow.

  • +1

On this deal I paid for the 5-8 business days option. Plus the 2-3 days "processing" that means Monday the 31st at the latest.

If you don't mind an orange tinge, you can get the orange model for cheaper on eBay..

    • +2

Except it's an auction and might end up costing more at the end ;)

      • ah apologies, missed the "Place Bid" button..!

        • No worries. I made the same mistake and nearly didn't post this deal originally.

  • +6

    Not clear but Australian stock:

    http://www.mushtato.com.au/orico-2569s3-2-5-sata-ssd-hdd-usb…

$10 delivered … Bought on Thursday night (6/10) and received Tuesday. Old model but works well.

    • +1

Much better option than waiting 45+ days for delivery.

      • But not the clear option :P

    • Do you know if it supports UASP for SSDs? New egg has two models one with and one without.

    • So saving $3.46 at the expense of 30+ days wait and no local warranty is worth 95 votes?

      • +2

        OzB users say so.

      • Fast, Good or Cheap. Pick any two.

If you know you'll make use of it in the future but don't need it right now, you can save money buy planning (and buying) ahead of time.

      • potentially more dutable metal case here too

    • Thanks Roasty1024 - bought the $10 mushtato one using your link.
Much better than waiting for over a month, and to me looks nicer than the clear one.

  • slapaz

  • I hope Orico mini USB docks are better than their 4 bay full drive docks.

I bought this to power 4 x 3.25" hard disks

    https://www.amazon.com/ORICO-Docking-Station-Duplicator-6648…

It worked with 2 fine, 3 sometimes and 4 not at all.

When I asked their tech support why, they said it didn't have enough power to power 4 drives simultaneously.
What a great design, a 4 bay dock with enough power for only 2 or 3 drives….

Have to say I'd prefer a metal dock unless I was using this for SSDs given the impact of heat on plastic.

still waiting on two items to arrive from zapals, ordered last year.

  • +2

still waiting on my free mouse from forever ago :-\

  • Received my two enclosures from the last deal on Friday.

Very nice quality for the price. Have a mechanical HD in one and a FDD in the other.

Maybe I just got lucky :P it did take quite some time.

    • +4

      A floppy disk drive???

      • +2

Oops, got stuck in some kind of timewarp. SSD.

Can confirm the black version includes 'EASY YOUR PC' on it. It's the official slogan of Orico.

        • lol Will fit a Syquest drive?

I think on the back it says 'Not easy your language.'

  • +1

clearly a good deal thanks OP

  • ordered 2. don't forget pricepal for that 5% guys!

the purple one from AE is hawt though! D:

  • I'll lose this case and then end up stepping on it

    • Luckily these are transparent and not invisible

  • Ordered one maybe get a case for it like I did with my Patriot one.

  • Does this unit work via the USB connection on my laptop or do I need a power adapter?

    • Powered via USB.

  • +1

    Still waiting….

    • Well yeah. It's the slowest shipping method that takes up to 40 days.

  • thanks. got a couple

  • I'd lean towards getting the USB3.1 Type C version for US$6.49 direct from Orico's Alibaba store instead (don't forget Cashrewards) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ORICO-2139C3-Hard-Drive-Encl…

    • +1

      That wasn't there when I posted :p

Wait until 11.11 and it'll be cheaper ;)

      • +1

ohh true… I'll bookmark it for later then ;) cheers!

  • maybe it's worth paying an extra few bucks

$14.95 on ebay out of VIC

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ORICO-2139U3-2-5-inch-Transparent…
