Congrats on the first post, great formatting and awesome prices! But your profile pic is so disturbing I can't eat my breakfast..

    For those looking at the 49" X7000D, I'd rather get the 55" X7000D for $0.60 less !
And don't forget cash rewards, so this is better than the JBHifi deal for Sony TVs.

    • 49" X7000D costs $1,038.00 while 55" X7000D costs $1,198.40

OP needs to address this issue.

    Sony 65" Z9D 4K HDR TV $5,599 - droolllll

  • I am overwhelmed with choice.

Which 55" UHD tv should I get?

I don't need 3D, does NOT need to be OLED

    Budget <$2000

    • Hisense 7000 series from Bing Lee eBay sale.

      • Hmmmm….sorry not very familiar with Hisense brand.

I tend to have a preference for either:

        Samsung
        Sony
        LG

        Any suggestions for those brand?

      • +1

steptoe, why do you recommend the hisense. not something i have considered in the past

        • +3

HiSense have come a long way since they started. They are starting to rival/be better than some of those brands above.

        • +2

The reviews for the Hisense M7000 have been outstanding - see http://www.goodgearguide.com.au/article/604431/review-hisens… for an example.

I agree, before the reviews for the current series of Hisense TV's came out I would have never considered them either. As an added bonus they give 3 years warranty too (sort of like LG and Samsung used to when they were trying to crack into the market).

The perception of value for money makes it worth a look, so to speak.

4k, 65" still not quite under $2000 yet. Almost there……

    • I am waiting for 4K, 65 inch, and true HDR 10 bit panel to drop under $2k :)

    • Wait for the Sony 12 days to Xmas sales and everything will be 1/2 price.

      • Very tempting……. I can wait.

    Sony 65" X7500D 4K HDR TV $2,239
    Sony 65" X8500D 4K HDR TV $2,797
    Sony 65" X9300D 4K HDR TV $3,197

    • Not sure who negged you, I've evened it out for you :)

    • X7500D

      X8500D

      X9300D

checkout these youtube reviews… I tried to find a decent comparison site but seems to me there is not any. Sony's comparison site does not let you compare, it just lets you tick boxes.

  • Is it also free delivery for your first purchase/signed?

  • Expired!!

  • Warning to everyone (beware this is a bit of a rant): I placed an order for the 65" TV on Thursday of last week, whereupon my CC was charged. Since then, I received an email from Sony Australia advising that there was a problem processing my order. The email came from a 'donotreply' email address and no further information about how I can follow-up the problem was disclosed. I was expecting someone to contact me about my order, but no one did. So I sent an email and didn't get a response. I then called and was told that Sony is replacing its CRM system so they are having problems processing some orders. I was promised a phone call back. Never received. I called again and was promised a call back. Still waiting. Can't get anyone from Sony to speak to me about my order or to refund my CC. Overall, a terrible experience with Sony Australia. If it is this hard to buy their product I can only imagine how hard it will be to get support!

    • Exactly the same thing happen to me, I purchased a 55x9300D from the last Sony sale and my card was charged (this is a debit card, so it's my money).

Next day I get an email stating it wasn't processed, had to wait 11 days for the money to return.

Then the same thing happened with this sale, it took me 4 phone calls and speaking to supervisors until they agreed to honour the sale, but I had to pay for it again using other funds and I'm still waiting for the refund.

That's 3 payments for just one TV.

      • The fact that this issue is common is crazy! I can't even get anyone to call me back which is so frustrating. The Sony operators refuse to allow me to communicate directly with the store handling the order, and the operator says she can only communicate over email. WTF? I will be instructing my bank to execute a charge back if I cannot resolve this tomorrow.

        • +1

the operator says she can only communicate over email. WTF?

That's exactly what they said to me and it's so frustrating.

BTW, it will be no faster doing a chargeback; you will eventually get the money back if you wait, it just takes a while.

A chargeback will involve more phone calls and filling out forms, plus you'll still have to wait anyway.

        • @Kleetus:

OK looks like they have processed the refund. Thanks for the advice.

Now I'm struggling to find the 65" for the Sony sale price ($1599)…
