Too bad the 24" is 16:9
But other than that's some good pricing.

    • +1

Not as good as the $89 22 inch but these are still great prices for a Dell delivered to your door

  • Bought the 23". Nice deal! :D

  • arghhh come on Dell the 27" deal how hard is it, people can get the 27" under $1000 at certain times, pleaseeee do it before EOFY pleaseeeeeeeeee

    Good deal OP

    • i rang them up and got 2x27" for $900 each about 4 weeks ago.
great monitors although one is playing up…pixelation all over the screen…gonna call them monday to get a replacement.

keep ringing until u get a rep willing to give u the best price. i told the person i spoke to that others on forums are getting them for 900 and got that price

      • Education tax rebate time :D if there's nothing else in terms of computer parts I'm not getting.

      • +1

I did the same thign and got told $1190 was the best price, i said mate I can get better with the coupon i got on me you can do better than that and he said nope. Its annoying having to call back again and again but i guess if you want it for $900 you got to

        • A true bargain hunter. :-)

    • They're listed at $1019 at the DELL AU eBay store: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Dell-27-U2711-UltraSharp-Full-HD-Moni…

However, I agree with bbourizk, you can also call them up and attempt to haggle with varying levels of success depending on the product you're enquiring about and the rep you speak with. The Asia Pacific reps that we deal with don't have as much freedom with discounts as their US counterparts but it's worth a go. If they don't budge on the product price you can push for an upgrade on your warranty at a reduced price/for free.

      • You can apply the coupon code listed above on the 27" monitor on the dell website and get it for $1019.15 as well.

        • Got my Dell 27" monitor 12 months ago for $729 using a rare opportunity where two coupon codes worked together (one from ozbargain and the other from RACV) ontop of a $900 Dell special deal. So yes, they can, and occassionally do sell the 27"er for a lot less.

        • Yeah $1019 is no where near what the best price is, people are getting these for $850-900 delivered, $1019 is just the coupon discount, as mentioned you can get it ALOT cheaper. I cant wait :)

    • apply the coupon code as per above

This also works on the Alienware monitors. I applied it to the 23 inch model and it took off $74.85 off the pre-coupon price of $499.00 = $424.15 and this is a 3D ready monitor.

    • +3

What kind of glasses do you need for that monitor? I suppose you can't use the ones you get at the movies lol? Pretty ridiculous how the nvidia glasses cost $269…

  • Great deal, just bought the 23" as well.
    Thanks OP!

  • Good work - got the 24"

  • I would get a new screen but I'am happy with my 17" LCD. :)

    • +6

17" ?….geeze, even the Amish use 22" as a minimum.

      • +3

Ha at least its not a 17" CRT

        • hi peter

  • Just curious, which one is better in terms of quality, DELL 24" LCD or LG 23" LED (from previous PriceEngine deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/27220). Both of them have a roughly similar price.

    What do you guys think?

    • Never use either one, but from specs the HDMI input, audio jack and 5 million contrast ratio of the LG one seems more superior, but are you willing to sacrifice $30 for HDMI and so called 5 million contrast ratio? :) just my two cents.

    • I'm also curious about the quality comparison. Why is the LG more expensive for 1 less inch?

    • The LG is sold out. :)

    • +1

LG's LED backlighting is worth having for 3 reasons: brighter, lower energy consumption and thinner. Dell's have more connections such as USB ports and are height adjustable whereas LG's don't and aren't. If you work with photos and graphics and need accurate colours then the sensible choice is a Dell Ultra-sharp IPS monitor. Hope this helps.

  • Hi looks good
How do you tell if they are Led back-lit can not see the info on the site, Special code?

also the 5 ms response time looks slow these days
    thanks

        • Seems to work again now.

Not sure what I could have been doing wrong.

  • Pretty damn good prices

  • If I'm looking for a 24" 16:10 monitor then am I looking for a 1920x1200 res model instead of a 1920x1080 model?

    • 16:10 = 1920x1200
      16:9 = 1920x1080

      Hope that helps :)

  • does this deal end on the 25th June?
sorry my first time here >.<" a bit noob

  • hmm wondering if the 24 is worth it over the 23.

Thinking of using it as a monitor for a HTPC. Or wait for another LED Monitor.

    • +2

Better name brand? I don't think so. Your post got negs because it was only a few dollars cheaper than other competitors, which isn't exactly a bargain. It's a good price for the monitor, if you don't mind acer and probably the best place to get it(depends where you live) but to be a few dollars cheaper for an item over $200 isn't considered a bargain.

If I didn't hate Acer products, I'd probably get it over this.

    • +2

And how is that a reason for voting this deal negative? You are clearly trying too hard to promote your not-so-much-a-deal everywhere. Your deal got negatives, get over it!

        • The reason your deal isn't popular is because acer, along with hp, are know as inferior brands. Their build quality and reliability history isn't that good. Had over 6 different monitor brands in our family and the acer one was definitely the worst. There's a reason why HP and Acer are the cheapest, they look good on paper, but after a few months, you'd prob wish you'd spend a bit more for something better quality. People rather spend a bit more and get something they know will last.

          • @ozhunter: acer monitors are worse, HP monitors are actually good…just take a look at the high end $1200+ HP its a apple Killer.

acer monitors tends to have more fail rate than kevin kudd in recent few months

            • @overlook: fair enough mate… but im on the flipside in having unreliable Dell components in the past- and very poor customer service to get it rectified. Acer's 3yr door to door warranty is hopefully a good sign that things have improved (as with Dells 3yr warranty as well). Who knows, we might both be surprised!

edit: just out of curiousity, what happens when the negative votes in any comments I make in this thread keep growing? does my computer blow up? does my carefactor increase? probably not… keep voting my little lemmings :).
alright that's enough stirring from me ;).

          • @ozhunter: May be right about the Acers but definitely wrong with the HP opinion.
When you pull a few apart the truth becomes more apparent and there are some surprises in some of the so called better monitors.
Quality varies from model to model, not just brand. This is more so with brands that just re-label like Dell, Apple, etc etc.

    just fyi
24” $203 (Full HD resolution)- HDMI, DVI, Vga, Audio pc jack, audio Out, 300 nits, 85% Colour gamut, 5ms
    http://configure.ap.dell.com/dellstore/config.aspx?c=au&l=en…

the 24" s2409w doesn't have hdmi, Audio pc jack and audio Out

  • +6

lol I have 2 of the 2409W's (typing on one right now)… got them off another ozbargain post 1.5 years ago… feels like yesterday!

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/6961

interestingly, it was $255 delivered vs its $203 price right now… of course in Oct 2008 24" were a lot more high end than now, so the fact its only lost about ~$50 in value shows how good a deal it was in the first place.

in case anyone is wondering these monitors have not skipped a beat for me, and my screens are on 24/7. I use one with a ps3 and the other with an xbox360 (both with hdmi passthrough)… its been a great setup…

    • thank you! this made me buy one :)

  • Anyone seen any with webcams and/or speakers?

  • thank you so much. just bought 15 x 18.5" for $118.14 each. was gonna buy em used for $95.

    • opening up a netcafe?

      • +1

just updating my netcafe, been using the 17" crt for the last 9 years. lol.

  • I'm tempted to get one for work. I've been using a Dell 21" at work for the past 3 yrs. Due to GFC, no hardware upgrade in the foreseeable future.

  • Bought the same 24" couple years ago for $260 when it was on special, ordered another one to use twin displays! :D

  • Mine has arrived already! Looks great!

  • just got myself a 24" too, thanks for sharing! :)

  • thought coupon is till new financial year. tried it on the 24" and wouldnt work just then.

  • dammit. just missed out too

  • Just to update, ordered my 2 x 24's Monday 21st in the AM, had received by Friday 25th PM (to Adelaide).
