        • @some_one_some_where:

Maverick-AU or Masters-AU have you tried to get any information from the so called number that you are mentioning? Irrespective of the press release it is really hard to get any support once the business is no longer in existence. ACCC has no powers, no one can do anything, Dicksmith comes to mind. Buyer beware!

What does this have to do with Dick Smith? Nothing. Woolworths as the owner of Masters has said in statements issued via the stock exchange that they will be honouring warranties post Masters shutdown and further details would be made public closer to the shutdown. Aside from legal ramifications there would be a massive backlash against Woolworths if they reneged.

As people are aware the phone lines to the stores are already gone! One of the steps into a total shutdown!

Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Would you like them to keep the phone lines operational after they have closed but install them in the nearest restroom so you can call someone? Seriously what does this to do with your claims?

          https://media1.masters.com.au/media/MASTERS/Media/static/PDF…

        • @Maverick-au: Hello Sherlock! Well you just said they will support but have already taken phone support off. Also announcement closer to shutdown. That makes perfect logic better than your restroom comment! By the way where have you seen a phone in a restroom?

Dicksmith also promised and then went back on warranty/support for product bought before the administrators sale! Must be sleeping.

          Well buyer beware.

Hello Sherlock! Well you just said they will support but have already taken phone support off.

The stores are still open and they still have their call centre operating. The stores are not taking calls during the final stages of closure.

Also announcement closer to shutdown. That makes perfect logic better than your restroom comment! By the way where have you seen a phone in a restroom?

I'm sure you can keep an eye out when you're next in a public toilet. BTW your wanted all the stores to keep their numbers active, so who is going to answer the phones?

Dicksmith also promised and then went back on warranty/support for product bought before the administrators sale! Must be sleeping.

No they didn't and this has nothing to do with this, why do you keep bringing Dick Smiths into this? They have nothing in common.

          Well buyer beware.

Why? This deal is about EGO products such have full importer support.

Does anyone know if/how you can get a replacement receipt from Masters?

Why don't you call their call centre? You could also try in store. You'll need to provide them date, time, register and value at the least.

      • thanks - I bought it with Amex so maybe that can help

  • At Chullora theres quite a few 33cm Brushless Trimmer SKINs but no point purchasing without a battery I dont think… if you have battery already i saw about 10 left today

    • At Chullora theres quite a few 33cm Brushless Trimmer SKINs but no point purchasing without a battery I dont think… if you have battery already i saw about 10 left today

It still makes sense when you look at the price of new ones at retail, chargers are cheap as are the batteries.

I'm wondering after Masters is out, who would stock EGO products? Australian people really cannot tell the quality and the mediocre can we? Masters actually stock many good quality stuff whereas Bunnings mostly stocks overpriced cheap stuff with no taste.

      Mitre 10
      Home Hardware
      Tradetools
…to name three… and there are more

      • are you saying the DO or COULD.

        • are you saying the DO or COULD.

You asked who WOULD, I gave you three names. How hard is to confirm this information yourself now?

        • @Maverick-au:
I didn't ask the initial question. But like others who then read this thread now or later I was just after clarification - rather then everyone having to go off and check. Sorry if you were offended.

    • This is a smart comment; few people see through the quality and only comment on price. When you weigh up quality and price together masters generally came up on top

I've been looking for Mower and Line Trimmer so been to 3 stores in Perth.

Masters bibra lake with only one mower left has no battery i asked the lady for price(thinking ill buy battery somewhere else) with no battery and she said cant sale any less then $389.40.

Then went to Masters Forrestdale They have no stock left.

Then drove to Masters Bayswater and found two with no box and battery or charger.
asked the guy for price for just mower and he said he'll give me 50% off on top of 40% already. so that's- $649 with 40% off to $389.40 and then 389.40 with 50% off to 194.70.

so i got mover for only 194.70 with no battery and charger.

Is it a Good Deal ? or Iam Stuffed ?

but then i thought my girlfrind might not like me buying a mower that has no battery so i thought iam going to buy line trimmer so i can use battery from that so i bought

EGO 56V ST1502E 38cm Brushless Trimmer KIT (2.5Ah and charger) $257.40 was $429 but somehow i was $419.00 so with 40% off that was 251.40

came home started mowing battery was down half way but i can get whole lawn done in two charges.

so i think i need to buy bigger battery. The one Trimmer comes with is (2.5Ah)

What is better option for me.

Should i buy Bigger battery and use same charger ?

Buy bigger battery and charger both ?

Stick with what i have (2.5Ah)

This is my first Post here and sorry for my English :)
    Thank you

Is it a Good Deal ? or Iam Stuffed ?

The deal is good, you already have a charger from your line trimmer purchase which is all you need so now your best course of action is to purchase another battery.

so i think i need to buy bigger battery. The one Trimmer comes with is (2.5Ah)

The one that comes with the mower is 4Ah so I would try and get one of these, alternatively get a 2.0/2.5Ah. If you had 2 x 2.5Ah batteries you could do the edges using the first battery which will only use say half the battery. Put this first battery on the charger whilst you start mowing with the the second fully charged battery, when you need to change the battery use the first one that is on the charger which should be close to full and finish off the job.

Charge both the batteries and put them away for next time.

You should be able to get a battery on ebay cheap over the next few weeks if you keep an eye out. If you search for "EGO Battery" you get back a heap of results, ignore the ones from the retailers as they are too expensive. For example there are a few 2.0Ah batteries on there for around $140 delivered.

Alternatively buy another EGO product like the leaf blower or hedge trimmer as this will give you another 2.5Ah battery.

Batteries part numbers for searching on ebay are (not all sellers will use them but it might make it easier to search)

      56V Battery 2.0 Ah Battery: BA1120E
      56V Battery 2.5 Ah Battery: BA1400
      56V Battery 4.0 Ah Battery: BA2240E
      56V Battery 5.0 Ah Battery: BA2800
      56V Battery 6.0 Ah Battery: BA3360
      56V Battery 7.5 Ah Battery: BA4200

      • Thank you for your time. I'll get another 2.5Ah

Lucky to get another 5.0Ah Battery from master's Landsdale. for 179.40. Same price as 4.0Ah.

They have 5 mower and about 8 batterys left.

        • +1

          Well done!

    • It's a shame you didn't head further north to Ellenbrook as they still had three mowers left on Sunday afternoon.

They still had one 4.0Ah battery left too. No other batteries left though.

Has anyone seen any hedge trimmer or blower skins or kits in NSW?

    thanks

    • Within the past few days to a week I visited
      Masters Northmead
      Masters Rouse Hill
      Masters Marsden Park
      Masters St Marys
      Masters Penrith
      Masters Hoxten Park
      Masters Gregory Hills

and I was looking at ego stock levels. I don't recall seeing a hedge trimmer at any of those.

      • Any line trimmer kit left in any of those stores Chad? or spare battery? Thanks in advance.

    • You know I think I saw blowers somewhere though. It may have been St Marys but sorry I visited so many I can't be sure.

literally did a masters drive around Brisbane today looking for the ego mower.

3 out of box in bundamba. no idea where the boxes or batteries for them were cos I couldn't even find a free store person to ask. so decided to head to another store.
but none at richlands or Everton park.i was already north so bugger it ,decided to head to north lakes and struck gold ! found 15 left at 5pm today! there you have it. hope someone appreciates all that driving!

    • I have done the drive in Victoria over the last few weekends. I'll be slightly sad when it's over it was actually quite a lot of fun

  • I wonder when the 16" chainsaw will come out here. I wish they made a top handle chainsaw to make it easier for arborist work in trees.

  • Anyone aware of any stock of the EGO mower in or around Melbourne? There are none in the Pakenham branch and after calling a couple of other local branches was told they aren't able to confirm stock over the phone and to come and have a look. Presume that's because they would need to walk and look?

    • I thought all Masters stores have had their phone lines disconnected long ago?

      • I got straight through to someone at Carrum Downs (8792 9201) and a very nice person at Cranbourne (5991 8901) also said the same thing… come and check. You can google the branch and just add dial the next number to get to someone. So for example Carrum Downs, their main number is 8792 9200 but dial 8792 9201 you will get through to someone

      • I thought all Masters stores have had their phone lines disconnected long ago?

Why would they disconnect a vital form of communication? What are they going to replace it with? Letters?

        • Thanks guys.
Well that's what they told me when I was in store and wanted to find out if another store had stock, they said can't call the other stores cos no lines and the only way to check was to visit each store.
