      Facebook advertising allows you to enter a list of emails to target ads to. More than likely eBay Australia have a big list of users they want to target so whether you see the ad or not doesn't really matter if you are on that list. Easiest way is to test the code out.

      EDIT: On the flipside, you can mess with a friend by putting custom ads that will only show for 1 person (via email targeting).

      Well of course. They want more business. If you are an active ebay user, the assumption is that you are buying and selling so why would they want to entice you some more?

      It sucks yes. No reward for loyalty at all.

        I suspect they target users who were once very active, and then have stopped buying.

        They know too well I'll be spending money irrespective of whether they give me a code. Clearly no rewards for loyalty .
