      message / email them 1st.

Purchased this SD card a few weeks ago, and then after the payment went through, they sent an email to me saying it was out of stock. Didn't have a problem with this except that they still (misrepresented) were selling the same item for a at least a week after (and had sold about 40 more).

Eventually got my item, 2 weeks after it was due to be delivered ….

    • I ordered in last 20% off sale and got it delivered in melbourne in 2 weeks or so. Was told there were many orders to process.

Any good offers on 128gb for Yi 4k?

Got a Toshiba 90mb/s but getting message saying to slow

    • Also looking for a card for my recently purchased Yi 4k. Probably looking at 64gb myself. Are the sandisk extremes good? They claim to write at 40mb/s

  • Fast enough for the Hero 5 or should I go for the Pro Plus?

    • +2

They arent fast enough for the best settings.
GoPro publish a list of recommended cards.

    • SanDisk Extreme PRO microSDXC UHS-II

      • You probably are right just a tad more expensive though.

  • Prefer Shopping Square cheaper and great service…..

Why do people buy so much of SD cards? Any reason.. Just interested.

  • Could anyone see any reason why this would not suit a Surface Pro?

  • These cards should be fine for smartphones like Moto z play?

Are these good for a DSLR camera? Can someone please advise me a good sd card for my Canon 750D. I also thought I'd buy a spare battery if anyone knows the battery on sale . Thanks in advance

      Yes and no

Yes it will do the job if you're doing single shots, 2-3 at a time and happy to wait for the buffer to be written out to the card at its 20mb per sec write rate.

If you start doing burst shots once the buffer fills up you'll probably find the camera taking a shot every second or so — it all depends how much data your camera will be writing.

The card is suitable for situations where the write rate is not high, you need lots of capacity and very fast reading. Perfect for camcorder as 128gb would give you lots of recording time and its read rate means you could transfer it quickly to your computer.

For sports photography I would say the card is too slow (unless your camera has a very very large buffer) - the Pro flavour would be more suitable.

      • Really sorry if this is a stupid question. But this says its speed is 80MB/s? Isn't that enough even if I want to do burst shots?

        • +2

No such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers

If there is only a single speed rate mentioned on an SD card its a good bet its the reading speed. In the case of this card, the write speed is around the 20mb mark - some might be a tad faster, some slower, but the card is guaranteed not to drop below 10mb per sec.

The read rate is up to 80mb per sec so you might get a tad under, or a tad over..

Other card manufacturers will give the speed as U3 (No less than 30mb per sec) or even megabytes per sec write rates.

My advice is to do an amazon search for the card you're looking at as usually someone will post benchmark speeds detailing the cards read and write rate at sequential and random read/writes.

For photography most of the recording/reading is done sequentially so that's the most pertinent speed rate.

  • Does it say that it comes with sd adapter?

  • This class 10 is slower read and write than then Samsung Evo UHS-1 64gb right?
