  • Nice deal, do you think there will be specials for ozbargains bday?

  • +6

    Darn it's cheap.

  • +2

    Errbody gon' be so mad!

  • +1

Crazy good price for this machine now. Good specs, in that classic Thinkpad shell, and with local warranty. Plus with cashrewards 1.25% cashback, you'll save another $9

I feel a little bad for those that pounced on the previous (and well priced) deal.

  • +4

Nice TA, I have no idea how you find all these deals. You are one of the greatest things to happen to Ozb

    • +7

Thanks, but I can't take credit for this. I was fortunate to get notification from a comment made by R81 in my previous Lenovo deal. He gets full credit. I've thanked him in the OP :)

      • Interestingly I get the Lenovo emails, so I checked if any other specials were also discounted on Ebay, but they weren't.

The E460 seems to be the only price reduced unfortunately.

  • +1

Is this Lenovo's official ebay page? I can only see 1 feedback, while the page is created more than 2 years ago?

    • -1

Thinkpads are generally considered the best laptops ever made, well T-Series and above.

      • +1

Not the E series though. Other than the Thinkpad keyboard, it is not that great.

      • I called them up after the post and was advised that the price is not correct and will be corrected.

I was one click away from paying, so I payed and the transaction was confirmed. As I do this, I told the person I have already placed the order and he said you got lucky then.

Long story short, purchases processed will probably be honoured.

  • Damn very cheap. Recently had to get a new pc for work (paid by work of course) was a Dell E7270 (6200U cpu) $1800… Wish work would just allow BYOD so can save them some $$.

    • I think they get the more expensive business ones because they offer onsite attendance to fix any issues with the laptops.

  • oh no, I already got one from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273568 :(

    • If I've already gone and bought one though?

    • +1

      Why a mistake? 20% off $888 = $710.40

      • +2

Yea he's saying it's supposed to be $888 after discount.

    • +43

So wait, you forgot to jack up the price 20% before the sale started?

    • +2

damn it clicked confirm and pay and its gone ….

    • +1

Do you have more stock ? please let me know as i am interested

    • Anyone wanna snapshot this and lodge an enquiry with ACCC please?

I give it to Lenovo for the recent discounts, thumbs up.

However, this kind of practice is rather deceiving, should the assumption of price "jacking" before discount is correct.

      • Anyone wanna snapshot this and lodge an enquiry with ACCC please?

        Can't you?

But then again the $888 deal is with the DEALS code.

    • +1

Why? Why don't you want to help ozbargainers get the best deal, by having the legitimate sale with the ebay coupon??

I am wanting to buy a mid-high spec Lenovo but waiting to see your ozbargain birthday deals.

    • +1

      Think he just trollin'

  • +3

Great price, but 5 hour battery life for a machine that heavy? Come on.

    • Large screen, extra GPU.. doesn't help

  • Dame its Sold out

  • WOW good job guys, sold out!

  • Thanks, Got 2

    • Why would this gentleman be downvoted?

      • apparently 2 is unacceptable!

  • Someone bought 5….

    • Broden strikes again….

  • So pity :(

  • Now wait for the cancellation emails.. No wonder they only have 1 rating.

  • +1

    Darn, over in 1 hour!

Rep, if you can get this back you'll get a sale from me: the $888 price is not really worth it but $710 is a decent price…

    • +1

I'm pretty sure 888 is a good price for an entry level business laptop with i7 and r7 at 2kg range.

      Even thinkpad 13 is $1000 for i5.

  • Hope they honored it. Got this for the price error deal back in July ($899 with 16GB memory), and was thinking, wow, it's a good price and regret a bit to buy it too early.

  • Flip. Did ozbargainers just swarm them?

  • -2

It would be so crap that LENOVO will not honor it………thanks LENOVO now you lost me as a customer if you do that…

    • it is okay. you aren't the type of customers Lenovo wants yo keep anyway. So no hard feelings

  • +2

    Uh guys….. Its back on!

  • +4

A further 20 units added at 2pm. Selling fast.

    • had in my cart first time around and missed it , logged back into ozbargain now and have missed again ! would have been good customer service if the rep had perhaps sent a message to the ones who had previously mentioned wanting one above …. hopefully ozbargain 10yr brings out a similiar better deal

    • Ahhh you're killing me! Missed it again!

  • Anyone know if it has a spare slot for a HDD? 256GB will runout pretty soon.

  • Bought.
    will this TRS possible?

    • +1

Should be. Sold within Australia. But be careful with the name on the receipt. Below $1000, there does not need to be a name, but if there is one, it must be that of the traveller. Receipt must have ABN and company details. If you're lucky, they will include a tax invoice which does not show the 20% discount.

      • +1

Thanks you are more helpful than all LENOVO staffs with 1300557073 number.

        Thanks.

        • +1

No worries, happy to help and pass on my hard-learned lessons :)
Note that they allow 60 days now since purchase, and it looks like you can pre-lodge your claim using an app. See their website

  • Does this model have the metal (magnesium?) chassis? Or is it a different ThinkPad?

    • +2

This is the E series (lower end ThinkPad) so I guess it's only plastic chassis. But it's cheap! So buy now and think later!

      • Yup that's what I did…

back to Windows laptop after 6 years of….Apple…

  • +6

I think Lenovo is having fun with us. They're like
"Here, check this out. Watch what happens if I add a bit of stock! Look, they're all over it! And it's gone!"
"Hey, can I try too? C'mon, let me add a few more, I want to see those Ozbargainers fight for it!".

  • bought!

  • +1

    Time for Lenovo to re-stock.

  • +2

Come on Lenovo bring us a great deal on the higher end stuff and put it on eBay while the 20% off coupon is still valid.

  • Party's over. Entire listing has been ended.

  • +1

Interesting how Lenovo have stock to sell at $888 on their Aust website, but no stock available anymore on eBay! WTF?

  • +4

Don't know if that would make some ozbargainers happy, as can't be posted as deal due to only 2 available at this time :

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-SONY-Xperia-Z5-Compact-Coral-…

    Please be generous.

    • Was it a bargain? its was $319.

  • Funny that, this seller only has 1 feedback since the last 12 months.

  • more stock pls

  • Any updates?

    • Nope. Waiting on shipping notice.

      • Yup.. They left a positive feedback so most likely they will be honouring the sales..

    • I sent an email asking for an update the response I received it has been dispatched and they have some problem in their IT systems with eBay so they couldn't send any notification.

However they didn't answer my question for the expected delivery date?

      • I called and given the order number.. So the orders have been allocated but was told they have not been dispatched yet. We are definitely getting the laptops just not sure when.

      • There's only 40 - they could do it manually. Estimated delivery is today on eBay so they're risking their reputation on there.

  • I wish deal was back on again

  • +2

I've asked via ebay where the product is; original delivery date was 24th now states 25th - not here today. Irrespective of how good the deal is, the communication has been pretty poor - and I will be ensuring they understand this!

    Paul

    • From memory mine always said 25th, but yeah communication has been non-existent.

    • If you used PayPal you can lodge a complaint through their Buyer Protection.

  • Left the a message through ebay on the 25th (expected delivery date) and still waiting for the laptop o at least an update… Very strange they only have 1 feedback…

    • If you used PayPal you can lodge a complaint through their Buyer Protection.

  • Just got shipping notice.

  • And today… an invoice! Dated yesterday, for the full amount. It's almost like they've been sleeping a week.

  • Lucky you, still no news at all on my side.. . what time did you place your order? I placed mine minutes before TA's post

    • I was in the second batch of 20.

  • No communication still, I called them and the guy escalated this to his team manager in China to investigate why the delay in shipping these units out..

  • Just called them, they said my order should arrive on the 6th of December, directly from china. Apparently the 'glitch' made all orders go to China instead of their local office… love that word, I think I will start using it at work more often.

Still no emails or any other communication

  • E-Bay now marked as sent, received tracking no. had a look says information received.. So get it in a week or so from china, ordered 2nd batch.. 3rd last laptop.. :)

  • +1

Ridiculous Lenovo. Supposed to receive on 25/11. Will Ask for PayPal help.

  • +1

My laptops are coming Dec 6th.
Raised a PayPal dispute so they would pull their finger out

  • I got this response to my ebay message to them (which I sent last week):

Thank you for your purchase with Lenovo through our EBay Web Store.

Below is your Order Number, Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) and your Tracking Number from Expediter's International Couriers.

Shipping usually takes between 24-48 hours from our Warehouse in Australia.

Your Expediter's International Tracking Number: 5215521019

Once again, thank you for your Purchase with Lenovo.

    Regards,

    Team Lenovo

P.S. Please leave us some feedback. We’d love to hear from you!

    • +1

      i sent them this back..

      Thanks for your belated response.

      1. The indicated arrival date provided on receipt of sale was last week.
      2. The pre-canned response makes no justification for the delay to the shipment.
      3. The response identifies a link to track shipment which requires login credentials i do not have
      4. Subsequent searches online allow me to track the package, via third party websites.
      5. The package is estimated to arrival on 5/12 - 3 days after the already revised shipment notification you have outlined in this message.
      6. The response alludes to this product being shipped from Australia - and taking 12-48 hours… the tracking number indicates its origin is China.

I'm not sure what more you could get wrong, apart from me never receiving the item, or worse still the product arriving and catching fire when I try to use it!

Please expect negative feedback - and consider this fair warning as to the reason why.

      • +1

        Hi Paul,

Unfortunately there was a glitch in our system with some of our Ebay orders. Instead of going to our Australian warehouse where they could be picked, packed and sent to our couriers, some of our orders were instead sent to our fulfillment plant in China, where they were built from scratch and shipped.

Due to this system glitch, your order was one of the one's that got sent to China. We have now fixed this glitch in our system, but were not able to stop the plant from building and shipping your machine.

        Regards,

        Team Lenovo

  • +2

So now this is getting interesting. My shipment from China is now "delivered", but it's not with me. So where did they deliver it? The Australian warehouse?!

  • +1

As of today I received the parcel. Used click and collect Woolworths. Now arrived at Woolworths.

    • Congrats! First confirmed delivery at this crazy price :)

      • Thanks man! As of eBay Lenovo feedback there's someone else got it earlier than me..

    • Nice one! Did your tracking originally show the same as mine & @someguycalledpaul? I get the feeling they delivered to warehouse and then onto final destinations (which we can't see/track)?
