500GB Xbox One S BF1 Storm Grey Bundle + Name Your Game token $319 C&C @ JB HiFi

1350

Website has been updated, now includes the download token instead of Tomb Raider.

Link to the catalogue - https://catalogue.jbhifi.com.au/2016/11/25-t9bs/index.html#3…

Catalogue shows you can choose from 1 of 4 games. Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War or Rare Replay.

Credit also goes to swalloweda, originally posted about it in the Big W thread.

I think there is a post on OZB about this, but I can't find it. If you purchase an Xbox bundle in store you can get CoD Infinite Warfare for $39.

        • Battlefield 1 is the downloadable copy

        • @Rog1995: There was meant to be at least one other downloadable copy from a selection of 4 other games including Tombraider (at least according to their catalog).

  • Looks like the deal has expired :(

    • +2

Already OzBargained? Won't be surprised, as the soldiers just woke up and spread on earth like hungry ants on the hunt for food.

      • +2

Exactly why I waited up last night! Also why I made sure I was at my local Target first thing this morning haha.

        • +2

I know. I did exactly the same, as I knew OzB team will devour any consoles and good games on sight in the first hours of the morning. lol

        • +1

Yes so many deals went live last night.. Why wouldn't you wait up?… I still wait up for Santa and I'm 46.

    • I think it's still on, the console still $319 when adding to cart, you just don't get the physical copy of ROTR. As someone previously commented, you will get the BF1 console bundle with 1 token for downloading game of your choice.

    • Its in their national catalogue though, can they just 'expire' deals?

  • +1

When you order online at JB for a store pickup where do they get the console from ?

I called in today (after ordering at about 3am) and the girl couldnt find anything at all. Am I waiting for the games guy to take one off the shelf OR do they ship from the warehouse, to the store for pick up ?

    • +1

      According to the confirmation email:

Before you race off to the store, there are a couple of things you need to know!

Your order is being prepared for collection in-store. The store staff will grab the item(s) off the shelf and reserve them for you at the instore "Online Pick-up" point, just look for the big red box hanging from the ceiling, you can’t miss it!

I hope that to be true. Otherwise I'll have to return all the games I've just bought from Target. lol

      • Ha same here (well… 2 games)

        Just got the email then.

        • Have you just got the pickup email? I have two more games in my Target basket, but I feel like waiting to see until JB Hi-Fi emails me the pickup email.

        • @AussieDaddy:
Have you got pick up email from JB Hifi yet? Mine has not arrived.
Not sure if they have to ship it to the store that I selected.

        • @BlackCaviar2016: Yeah, I received the pickup email by midday, but I haven't picked it up yet. I'm about to go get it soon.

  • -2

This is expired, when rise of tomb raider is added, it's $49

  • +1

So guessing the Microsoft deal is now the best one?

    • No , the best one is go to Harvey Norman and ask them to match MS deal, then use AMEX offer300-100. Which means the final price is 329-100=229

      • HOLY COW BATMAN…and he's gone!

Or not…looks like i missed the offer :(

      • just asked harvey norman to match ms offer via online chat, they refused to price match :(

        • I went in store and they refused as well. The sales person couldn't believe how cheap it was and just flapped on trying to make excuses not to price match.

  • +2

No still Working, I can able to checkout for $319 with Tomb raider!

    Even bit more cheaper 319 - 30 = $289

but $30 as Wooli Credit ( buy JB Hifi gift cards from woolworths and get $30)

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/277192

    • How are you doing it? As certainly not working for me :(

      • They have now updated the $319 bundle to include a little pic of the additional 4 games to pick from as well as wording to that effect. You wont see the extra game in your cart though by the looks of it.

        • But how to choose which one?

        • @superforever: I assume you do this via microsoft after purchase. Don't need to choose when ordering, as it's a voucher.

        • @superforever:

I just got mine today and you get a card that is given to you seperately by the person selling it to you, where you then go to xbox.com/name-your-game and enter your email address and redemption code that is printed on the back of the card.

You then choose one of the four games on offer by clicking on it then confirming your selection (Forza 6 is the most expensive out of the 4 listed - not including tomb raider as that's free if you add it to the bundle) and then about 10 seconds later you get an email with an activation code that you enter into your xbox and voila - the game is in your collection.

          Hope that helps.

        • @digitalaxon: I've bought Forza 5 today from Target for $20, and got Tomb Raider for free with the deal, so is it worth to download Forza 6, though I've just bought 5, and I haven't played it yet? I was thinking to download Gears of War instead. Is that a cheap/shitty game? These are the games I bought today http://imgur.com/a/5yPa7 (all affordable/on sale games, as I didn't wanna buy expensive ones right away today), and Battlefield comes with the console, so it will be either Forza 6 or GoW.

    • How did I miss the Wooli credit :(

  • +1

Picked up mine in store this morning. At first he had no idea until.I showed him their own catalogue then he found. Then had to dig up the card with the 4 downloads to choose from. Sweet deal. Had $125 in gift cards to use so good deal. Also picked up mad max and Pacific rim on 4K for tad over $20 for the 2. Happy days.

  • +1

    Bought one earlier! Thanks OP!!!!

  • Someone please correct if I'm wrong, the differences between this and the one on MS store are:
    1. $10 cheaper
    2. This comes with a token which can redeem 1 game from 4 choices, but MS store gives a physic copy of Rise of the Tomb Raider
    3. MS offers free delivery

This also include 1-month EA access and 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial, doesn't it?

    Thanks

    • Your summary is correct. And i guess if you want the grey colored one as aposed to the white version. MS Stores had both, but only white is in stock atm.

Any bundles that include an EA game (FIFA, BF1) will include 1-month EA access. 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial, all Xbox's have that if I'm not mistaken.

  • They fixed it … no more.

    • No more

      • May be in store with the catalogue.

  • Ordered online this morning. Went in store (Greensborough) without receiving the confirmation email. Asked if the bundle was in stock and he said yes. I then said I had ordered it online this morning and 2 minutes later walked out with console, Battlefield 1 code and ROTR game for $319.

    • So you did get the ROTR physical game and not the 4 in 1 token ? How did they allow that

  • This might be a long shot, but… Has anyone gone inside and haggled the price down? Lol

    • +1

Tried it, wont even get down $1 or I asked for a discount on the media controller, no dice at all !

      • I guess they know it's a good deal already, so there'll always be someone else willing to snap it up for asking price.

    • +1

I just picked one up at Canberra City, got an extra controller for $70 and cod infinite warfare for $39.

      Pretty decent deal.

  • Went to a store in Sydney (Leichhardt) at 11am and they said I was the first/only person to buy this bundle so far. They have heaps and clear signage showing the sale.
Might be worth a try for those wanting to pick it up straight away.

  • Prices are getting better for XB1. But is it a good time to go for it or wait for Boxing day sales. Boxing days sales in the past 2-3 years have been disappointing with less discounts compared to rest of the year for many stores.

    • +1

I was waiting for Microsoft sales (they were awesome last Christmas, or the one before?). But I didn't want to miss out on the Storm Grey colour as it's a BF1 edition. Not sure how long they'll have it for.

      • I love that colour as well as it matches my TV unit as well. Wont they have black or this colour in future? I have this game on PC, so not fussy on xbox as it will require gold for online gaming. Would love Minecraft.

    • +1

I find pre-christmas sales to be better than boxing day.

All retailers know boxing day will draw in the crowds and people don't like to leave empty handed, so they wouldn't really care about "aggressive" discounting I reckon

      • O Dear. Does it mean that this price can be the best for X one S this year? I feel for those who bought Xonx one few days ago a bit cheaper as this is a great price.

    NEVER AGAIN JB HiFi

Went to pick up the XB1S and thought "Your not going to remember the games Token are you". Sure enough the counter monkey says "Sign here, thanks, see you" I asked if the games token is in the box - That earned me 20 minutes of my life and the store manager, 2nd in charge and 2 counter monkeys all discussing what was going on.

By the end I had the console deal on my phone showing them. They truly have no idea at my local JB. Next time I will pay $10 extra and order from Microsoft. That is my last dealing with JB.

I wonder how many consoles they handed out today without the game token ?

    • -2

Wow, what a harrowing experience you were subjected to.

      • +3

Some of us actually think customer service should exist. You want to waste your life waiting on other peoples mistakes - Go right ahead.

        • Ahh at the end of the day you got it, go plug it in and game away your sorrows!

        • @montorola: Not until Santa says it's OK

    • +3

i had to come back and get it because i believed them when they said it was inside

    • I'm still trying to figure out how that experience "earned" you 20 minutes of life? Needless, you should be grateful come death time…

      • Depends what quality that last 20 mins is, might want to refund it and do without.

    • I was about to pay a visit to JB. Never mind, I guess I'm going to pay $10 more at MS and get a free delivery.

  • Has anyone received the email to say the order is ready?

    • yes I picked mine up today..at Warrawong nsw
They didn't have it ready when I got there even though I got the email to collect it, they had the console in stock but no tomb raider so they swapped it out for the new COD.. They had no idea about the DEAL anyways.lol

I'm happy just have to sell my white s console now LOL

    • I hadn't received anything by 1 so I called the store and he said it was ready to go.

    • I just rang them and confirmed the order. And the online status just changed to "ready for pickup". Given that there are 2 distinct items in the order, the console bundle and ROTR, this means that I should get: console, BF1, ROTR and a "Name Your Game" token which I'll use for one of the other games.

      • I have the same order but have not got "Ready for pick up" email.
Do you think they will give you that, i.e. 3 games?

        • Make sure you ask for the name your game token as it won't be in the box.

      • I didn't get the download token, didn't think I would. It wasn't part of the deal when I bought it last night.

        • I didn't get it either. I was told that having ROTR replaced the token.

Did anyone manage to get Battlefield, ROTR and a token?

          If so I'ma going back!

        • Got it. I haven't opened the box yet, but I assume BF1 is in the box (it says so on the box), a game token which looks like a bit of paper with a code, and a physical copy of ROTR.

        • @xlimit: Go to the deal on JB Hi-Fi site, and check the small print at the bottom. Both the token and ROTR should be included. If not, show them where it says on the print. The staff from the store where I've picked mine didn't know about it either, so they called a senior staff member who got the token card from another part of the store and handed it to me.

        • @AussieDaddy:
I did not get it either :(, could you show me where is the "small print" on JB hifi?

        • @BlackCaviar2016:
          Here: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/games-consoles/games/Gaming-Consol…

It's written in the description, scroll down under the pictures:

Own the Xbox One S Battlefield™ 1 Special Edition Bundle (500GB), featuring a storm grey console and controller, 4K Blu-ray™, 4K video streaming, High Dynamic Range, a full game download of Battlefield™ 1, and a "Name Your Game" token.

PS: Unless you made your purchase after midnight last night, and took advantage of the free Tom Raider disc, then I am afraid you missed out on that. But whether you got that one or not, you should get both Battlefield 1 AND a token (scratch card that you can use to download one of four games) with your purchase.

        • @AussieDaddy:
Ya, I ordered early morning and my order has 2 items, 1 console bundle, and 1 ROTR game.
So i think I can come back and ask for it.
The only thing I'm worry now they may say they already gave the name-your-game token, i.e. I'm a liar!

        • @BlackCaviar2016: I think they'll give you the token if you try to explain to them what happened. Even when I was picking up my order they thought it was just the console and ROTR bundle. I had to explain to them, and show them on my phone, that a token is also part of the deal. If the checkout staff won't be helpful, then ask to see the store manager. I don't think it will get to that point anyway. Good luck.

        • @AussieDaddy:
Thanks. Will try my luck tomorrow! :)

  • +1

I went into Marion JB and there was no signage for this package anywhere. I didn't bother asking because I decided to spend the money on PS4 games at Target instead, which also avoids the hassle of selling my original XB1.

    • Ended up caving and went to the Colonnades store today. Deal is too good to pass up for the 4K Blu-Ray player alone. Already got a buyer lined up for my old XBone and the BF1 token (have it on PS4 already) for $230, so the new console only cost me $89 (and I got Forza from the token as a bonus). Absolutely cheerin'.

Only negative is the store was so busy it took me 40 minutes just to talk to someone, then another 15 to pay for it.

  • +3

Well I ordered mine online this morning about 6.30am, I ordered the Xbox One S for pickup, but had to have Tomb Raider delivered as my local store wasn't showing. When I went in to pick it up, I also managed to get the game download token included as it was on their website at the time with that.

$319 for Xbox One S, Battlefield 1, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Forza 6 (the game I wanted). Very happy with that.

    • +1

Well done! That's a great deal!

      • It is. Wasnt fussed if i didn't get the game token. But the website at the time had the Xbox One S with name your game token graphic as one item and had Tomb Raider as a separate one.

Figured it couldn't hurt to ask. If they said no I would have been fine with that… the console alone is worth that to me.

  • Hey I just picked up my bundle with the phisical version of tombraider, was i supposed to get a name your game token aswell?

    • Yes. In the description on the JB website, it states name a game token is included.

      • I don't think it's supposed to be included. If you bought it with Tomb Raider, the game token wasn't part of that deal.

        • I think it's supposed to be included in the deal. As pockets75 said, check the description underneath the console on their website. It's also shown as a picture on the left side of the console. They initially have thrown in ROTR as free with the rest of the deal, unless they've just changed it. I've just picked up the whole thing from my pickup store less than an hour ago. You have to show them the print, and they'll give you the token card.

        • [@AussieDaddy]@pockets75:
can you link to this? my impression is that it's one or the other.

        • @andysa: I think they probably changed it this morning, and removed the free ROTR from the deal. It was included last night when I purchased mine online. I've just quickly read the comments, and have seen some other members saying ROTR isn't showing up free when added to cart anymore.

  • Got one and saved an extra $21 thanks to using gift cards from potm - awesome and fast service!

    • How fast did you get the gift cards?

      • Very fast, less than half an hour using same bank as one of the banks where he has an account.

  • I just bought it and have a really stupid question. what that token looks like? I found a battlefield 1 download code but nothing about those other games…

    • It has 4 games on the front and says CHOOSE ONE at the top

  • +1

On the box of the console, it doesn't actually say Xbox One S, does it? I realized after I left the store that no S was written on the box so I almost panicked and thought they screwed me over and I have to return tomorrow. lol

PS: For those of you who aren't still sure about what should be included in the purchase, if they haven't already thrown into your bag already, ask for a token card ON TOP of the ROTR and the already downloaded Battlefield 1 in the console. They assume that it's just B1 + ROTR what should be in the deal. Show them the small print at the bottom of the deal on their website, where it explains in detail what should be included in the deal (Also, if you look at the right-hand side of the console picture, it has the picture of the token card that should be included, and the pic of Battlefield 1 is on the left. And then there's ROTR on top of that).

    • I had the same issue in JB, until I noticed that on the side of the box is says 4K. Only the XBOX One S is 4K I believe.

      • Yeah, you're right. I had to search for unboxing videos on YouTube and have seen it doesn't specifically mention it on the box (though it is printed on the back of the console itself when you take it out. Haven't opened mine yet).

    • Ok so if I didn't ask for that token I didn't get it, correct? I can't find anything unfortunately…

      • +1

If you bought yours last night, and it added ROTR for free, then you should get the token on top of it, as it says in the description of the deal.

Own the Xbox One S Battlefield™ 1 Special Edition Bundle (500GB), featuring a storm grey console and controller, 4K Blu-ray™, 4K video streaming,
High Dynamic Range, a full game download of Battlefield™ 1, and a "Name Your Game" token.

It looks like they've updated the deal this morning, so if you have bought yours late, then you might have missed out on both, I am afraid.

        • +1

Ok, now I get it! My invoice (and online invoice) says BF1 console "bundle". In my online orders it lets me click straight into the bundle which shows the token as part of it. Will try my luck tomorrow :)

        • +1

          @cala90: Check your inbox.
          And good luck tomorrow.

        • +1

Good point, I asked them where it was today when I picked it up, then just assumed it was the physical copy OR a download, and left it. Looks like I'll have to drop by again tomorrow.

        • @andysa:
Same here, I even did not ask because when I waiting for them to prepare the order I heard the guy (manager probably) talked to the guy that preparing the order for me something like "mistake on the website in the morning, the ROTR is a download token"

        • @BlackCaviar2016: FYI, I went in this morning with my paperwork and email and they quickly handed over the token. JB are great.

        • @andysa:
Same here, took me 5min. Great!
