500GB Xbox One S BF1 Storm Grey Bundle + Name Your Game token $319 C&C @ JB HiFi

1350

Website has been updated, now includes the download token instead of Tomb Raider.

Link to the catalogue - https://catalogue.jbhifi.com.au/2016/11/25-t9bs/index.html#3…

Catalogue shows you can choose from 1 of 4 games. Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War or Rare Replay.

Credit also goes to swalloweda, originally posted about it in the Big W thread.

I think there is a post on OZB about this, but I can't find it. If you purchase an Xbox bundle in store you can get CoD Infinite Warfare for $39.

        • @andysa:

I sent them email yesterday and they called me today that my token is ready for pick up and they apologised. What a customer service! Very happy

        • @andysa: Looks like JB staff are great at customer service. Glad to hear people are getting their tokens with no issues at all. :)

    • Sorry about the confusion of my early comment, guys. It looks like the free ROTR was available in the early hours of the morning after midnight, and if you haven't got it in your purchase when putting in the order, then unfortunately you won't get both the token and ROTR.

      • I just want that token and online it still says Includes a "Name Your Game" token (download from a selection of four hot titles)
I'll go back tomorrow, one of the reason I bought it was free forza…

        • You definitely should. The ROTR disc is kinda iffy; some people (including myself) were able to add it to their cart for free, but the token is in the deal. It's written in the description, so as a precautionary measure, make sure to take a screenshot of it now before midnight. Or if you have got the paper catalogue, I think it says there as well (not 100% sure on the catalogue, but it definitely says on the deal page). Good luck.

Edit: I have just realized this deal isn't just a one day deal, so all the info should be there for a couple of days, I think. So, you will be alright.

        • @Ritchma: Pleasure, and good luck.

My game purchases of the day, 6+1 (ROTR was free) discs for $156, plus the two digital games (Battlefield one and the token card): http://imgur.com/a/5yPa7
All together with the Xbox One S console, $475 poorer in one day, that's with buying cheaper games. Thank you for helping my pocket get fatter, OzB. lol

Bought the $319 deal, thanks op.

A caution for those who recently bought the Samsung 55" 4k HDR telly.

The XB1S does not recognise that it is an HDR capable TV. When I play a 4k HDR disc the XB1S pops up a message saying "The connected TV cannot display HDR content blah blah blah". I've fiddled with the setting on the TV and XB1S but the problem persists. If anyone has a solution please share it.

Wow, I did buy the Samsung TV. It was the only reason we decided to buy the XB1 S… Damn!

From a quick Google, all I can find (and could be completely wrong) is everything saying the TV needs to have a 10-bit not 8-bit panel.. Hmm hope I'm completely wrong.

      • Yeah, I've also read a little about 10-bit vs 8-bit panel debate. Both should be able to display HDR content, though.

I'm sure Samsung wouldn't be allowed to market this TV as HDR Premium if it wasn't.

Yeah, true. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution.

I did see some posts about what settings it should be on etc. but you said you've had a play with that stuff. My XB1S is my birthday present so I can't open it until next week to test it out :(

@cala90: Perhaps the XB1S just gives that message when it can't find a connected 10-bit panel but the Samsung TV actually displays the HDR content [8-bit+Dither]. It's all very frustrating.

          @Chateau:

Yeah I'm honestly not too sure. I'll find out if I have any issues on Tuesday and report back (hopefully you've got it working by then though :) )

    Just purchased this in store.
The box includes a download token for battlefield 1 (45gb…) and 1 month EA access and 14 day Xbox Live Gold. In addition to the box you receive a name your game token where you can choose from the list of 4 games.

Note depending on your internet speed the set up can take an entire day. There's a 1.5gb system update and a controller update. Then there's the massive download time for the game. If you are getting this as a gift for someone for Xmas it might be worth preinstalling all this stuff

    • Anyone knows if the game token is inside the box?

      • It's not, you need to ask for it if they didn't give it to you.

        • Thanks. Now I have to go back to HN. I just picked up the xbox 1 from last week's deal. They didn't give me the token but just rang them and they have put aside a token for me.

    • Digital downloads and updates are going to make Xmas day a bit of a drag for some kids. Imagine getting a console for christmas and not being able to really play it for a day or two. Surely with these game packs they should at least preload the main game to the console before boxing them up.

  • By the way… this deal is no longer available.

    • Is it on the printed catalogue?

      • The printed catalogue was for a "3 day price frenzy" 25-27 Nov. This deal is expired.

  • They don't want give me the game token, only the console, they said game is only for in store buyer, not online pick up. I show them the online order clearly said token included, then they want offer me forza 5. I said have to be forza 6 or token. finally give me the token after talk to manager, but I can tell the lady is very unhappy.

    • Hope they don't try this shit on me, I've got a screen shot of the deal on their website. Surely if it was in their national catalogue they will have a hard time trying to deny it..
