    $32 train to the airport and back is highway robbery. And I thought Sydney was bad.

      That's why hardly anyone ever uses it. Usually cheaper to Uber it.

      The Groupon price makes is barely competitive and is the price it should be everyday.

        Do you always comment when you have no idea what you are talking about?

        An average Uber fare from Brisbane City to the Airport is $30 one way.

        Cab fare is about $45.

        The Air Train is by far the most cost effective and reliable.

          "The Air Train is by far the most cost effective and reliable."

          For a solo traveller perhaps.

          @jdr:
          I refuse to use the train to the airport.
          More than 2 of you than as you say, other transport is cheaper. And when by myself I know I'm being reamed by the cost so I prefer to pay xtra and take alternative transport.

          Train to Toombul, bus to DFO, then free shuttle bus to the airport is more cost effective

        • @gilbarc: does the shuttle bus work in reverse? (any idea where you pick it up?)

    The Sydney price is about the same from memory except the ride is even shorter (4 stops from Central to Domestic Airport from memory).

    As soon as you factor multiple people into the calculation, the trains lose badly.

    And the Melbourne train is the most expensive of all, about $350m and you'll miss your flight unless it's in about 50yrs.

    There is a trick with Sydney trains which I see alot if people doing to avoid the airport fee.

    Walking to mascot station!

  • There's many good comments here about why the Brizzy Airtrain isn't such a great option:
