      • Let me please confirm you purchased $150 MYER GC in store paid with Amex and will get $35 statement credit?

    • Been confirmed by bluedufflecoat

    • I got an email from amex saying thanks for shopping at myer etc and "if your purchase meets the offer terms, you will receive a $35 credit"….
I bought an item for $130ish and a $20 gift card just to hit the $150, hope that works!!

  • In the spirit of stacking offers, just received this Myer One offer (silver status): "Receive a $100 Cellarmasters e-voucher when you spent $100 or more at Myer". Valid for 2nd and 3rd December (Friday and Saturday).

Says gift cards are excluded but have one more Myer offer so so will purchase one tomorrow and report back!

    • This one Myer may be able to easily exclude because it is a Myer One deal and I'm assuming that database can track what you bought.

  • Have anybody received confirmation email for the Westfield giftcard purchase?

    • +2

      Nothing yet… bought at Chatswood

    • +2

Nothing yet for 7 x $100 Westfield transactions however I received emails immediately for 7 x $150 Myer transactions.
I wouldn't worry anyway, the Westfield promo is specifically for gift card so you can rest assured your credits are on their way ;)

    • +1

Bought 3 just now. Received all 3 emails immediately.

I did not paywave/paypass. Always insert and pin.

      Cheers

  • +2

Westfield Gift Card (standard, red, not XS) works at Woolworths Petrol (obviously) not located at a Westfield shopping centre.

    • +2

Didn't know this, thanks for that! Everyone needs fuel, so might as well spend it on that as opposed to something dumb at WestFailed.

    • +1

Woolworths used to have a page of payment methods listed on their website that stated they would accept Westfield cards at all Woolworths, Big W and Caltex/Woolworths service stations. I can't find it anymore but it must still apply.

      • Would be interested to know if this was still the case.

        • +1

They also work at Woolworths supermarkets not located within a Westfield.

        • @sween64:

Do you choose giftcard or eftpos when processing the payment?

        • @JLQC5899: EFTPOS. Which means you don't get a balance remaining on your receipt. But you can check your card balance here.

  • +2

Over 50 more deal votes than November Shop Small already?!

  • For the Westfield card, can we buy say $47.05 in value and because of the $2.95 fee, total would be $100 and still entitle for the cash back?

    • 47.05 + 2.95 =/= $100

      • +1

Sorry I meant buy $97.05, total incl fee is $100.

        • yep, you can. That's what I did

  • no wonder the vote of this node will exceed 1K !

  • Gotta try this out… will let you know if the XS cards trigger the AMEX offer…

    • No need to, it will. Thanks but!

  • Managed to score a new Apple watch 2 from the Apple Store in Miranda for $415.75 (normal price $529 so 21.4% off). Bought 5x $100 Westfield gift cards + 5x $2.95 GC fee (wouldn't allow me to split the payment on the one gift card). Possible further savings if you manage to split payments onto one GC and combine with Apple pay deal. Thanks AMEX :)

    • Nice! What do you mean by 'split the payments onto one GC?'..

      • Using 5x Amex credit cards to pay for a single $500 gift card (thus only paying for one gift card fee).

  • Just bought 2x giftcard at Westfield Carousel and got the email immediately. The CS officer said we can't use more than one amex per person yet she didn't even check the card :(

  • +2

bought one at at Chatswood. Got asked if it was for the Amex offer then she asked to see my ID. Wonder if they are only checking IDs for the Amex offer. And no confirmation email yet.
And also got a free coffee/hot chocolate voucher for San Churro. valid only at Westfield Chatswood.

    • Yea sounds interesting/funny. So if you said no they wouldn't have checked? Haha.

      • +1

That's what i want to know too. Why does it matter if it was Amex or not. It's not like they need to process the gift card differently if i am paying by amex. But getting your ID checked seems like something experienced by everyone here.

    • Where did you get the voucher?

    • +1

I purchased from Sydney Westfield and was going to purchase separate giftcards when the CSA said I could split the payment over multiple cards to save on the fee. No ID check, nothing…

      • which location ? next to microsoft store?

        • yep! The lady was holding a stack of gift cards and brought me to the counter saying i could split the payments and save on the $2.95/$4.95 fee.

  • Successfully split an XS card into 2 transactions at Chermside. Had to show the lady both cards were in the same name. Confirmation emails for both Android Pay, nothing yet for Westfield.

    • So you paid using Android Pay and they still asked to see your name? Interesting. I thought we might be able to "get away with it" by using contactless via phone.

      • +1

Yes, paid using Android pay. It was more of a glance (not even sure she read the screen) but I'm confident it'd depend who serves you.

  • Can someone confirm if Parramatta Westfield kiosk/store accepts Android Pay?

  • -5

Last time I enrolled in one of these Amex offers they didn't give me my credit (despite the successful enrolment) and they totally ignored my complaints. A huge annoyance because I actually didn't take the cheapest up-front price from a non-participating store as I was factoring in the credit.

  • Amex is making me poor every day
    lol.. just kidding…

OZB along with Amex are making life affordable in Australia.
Happy with the $1200 credits from HN and shop small($600 each) last month.

Time to go around Westfield, Myer , First Choice and The Body shop for gift cards.

    • how many cards you got? :) how to arrive at that calculation?

      • 6 cards(1 primary + 5 supplementary)
only annoying part is that the recent supplementary cards I got won't have these offers under 'My Offers & Places' tab automatically. I need to manually register all offers on these cards.

Any expert suggestions on how to get these automatically on to online account ?

        • Are the supplementary cards recently opened? (<3 months) In my case, number of offers gradually increased in like 4 to 5 months

        • Cool! Which deal has 1200 for HN?

        • Any expert suggestions on how to get these automatically on to online account ?

I asked AMEX recently how to do this.

You have to Register each Supplementary Card separately.

          Go here:https://global.americanexpress.com/myca/logon/japa/action?request_type=LogonHandler&Face=en_AU
          Then new registration.

You will need a new user ID and password. (Each supplementary card has to have it's own UserID and password)
You then get the "My Offers & Places tab" for the card.

          It has your charges only.
It also says: "As you are the supplementary card member you cannot view the card balance information"

        • @Tommo1944: I already have setup online accounts for all supplementary card holders.

          Still doesn't come up

        • +1

          @spk:
Definitely works for both my supplementary card on my wife's Essential account and her supplementary card on my Platinum Edge Account.

Just to make sure they must be unique UserIDs and password for each supplementary card. ie in your case you would have 6 individual UserIDs.

BTW does not work for bank issued cards.

        • @Tommo1944: Yes i got 6 usernames and passwords

I used to have just one primary card and one supplementary card.. Offers are able to be saved on both of them.

I got 4 new supplementary cards added recently, on which I can't add them via online account.

        • @spk:

Are all sup card under your name? or you family name , like your daughter

        • @LoveBargain15: 1 primary & 1 supp on my name, 2 supp on wifes name and 1 on my mom's and 1 on my dad's names.

        • @spk:

I do not know that same name could be on the primary and supp as well. good to know.
I will get myself an extra one.

        • @LoveBargain15:

          Couple of things:

          • spk mentioned they recently got a couple of cards. For the offers not to appear via the AMEX login section for new cards is actually not that unusual. I don't believe there is any way to "trigger" it either - it's just how it is. It's as if the system takes some time to process and trawl through new accounts before they get offers
          • In theory you can get a supplementary card in the same name as the primary cardholder, but from my experience it depends on who you get on the phone when you request to add a card. From my own personal experience, 2 out of 3 customer service representatives did not allow it. A third one did.
        • @illumination: yes ur right.
It depends on who u talk to or who processes it, if submitted online

        • @illumination:

Why don't just request supp cards online? The trick is to choose the option to display just your initial and surname on the card. So if your name is Joe Blow on the main card, the name on your supplementary card application can be your brother Jack Blow but on the card it will just be J Blow.

  • Anyone know if HN & Bing Lee are included in the Westfield gift cards?

    • +1

Knowing Gerry Harvey (real good true Aussie bloke) he or his franchise managers will prevent people from using Westfield cards even if it is in a Westfield's

      • How about buy the xs card and just say you're paying with eftpos?

Or use xs at woolies to buy hardly normal gift carf and self check out?

  • Can you buy woolworths gift cards online and get the credit? Terms say you cant so not sure will work.

    • Uhm, they don't sell gift card online :(

      • Thanks. Good to know

    • They sell their gift cards through a different website (everydaygiftcards.com.au), so no.

      • Thanks. Good to know

  • Westfield maxed out, it appears.

  • +2

Can someone confirm buying coles Myers gift cards from first choice liquor will give you credits back without any problems? Same for Myer?

    • Bought from myer, received confirmation email.

      • Yes, got both email within minutes, buying same $150 coles group and myer gift card. I used tap but physical card if it interests you as some people said the paywave can be delayed (tried AndroidPay too, but it was declined, not sure why, so I just used the card).

        • Check your phone tap&pay payments setting it could be the NFC defaulting to a different payment system thus not allowing you to android pay

        • @Turd: Thanks, it's probably something else though. It worked fine at Masters yesterday, not sure why (I tested it to buy something in small amount to avoid looking like a fool this morning, lol - I guess, it shouldn't be the amount neither as it's declined right away before even asking for PIN as it's supposed to).

  • Data point: Eastgardens Sydney … 10 x Amex cards used (8 x genuine & 2 x bank) … had to do them as unique transactions. Also double dipped on some using the Android Pay offer. Emails received within 1 min of transactions. The server was very friendly, helpful and very fast at doing them (she had a process). I walked up to the counter and said "good morning, I'd like to purchase 10 x red gift cards for $100 ea using 10 x different Amex cards" (I also asked about single transaction). Before I could finish speaking,s he had grabbed 10 cards and started to write on them and asked me to get the cards out. She said they were very popular. When I was done I noticed a line behind be of about 6 people all looking to do the same with Amex cards in hand.

    • Did they give out the $10 bonus card?

    • genuine

      hahaha as opposed to fake.

Thanks for the share though. Sounds like you got a good worker that us Ozbargainers would love to have.

  • I bought 300 Westfield gift cards with 3 Amex cards but still yet to receive any emails.

    • Are you expecting 300 x $25 = $7500 statement credits?

      • Nah just $300 bux. I only got 3 Amex cards.

  • No more Westfield gift card? I can't register.

    • Yeah looks like the limit has been reached

      • It's quick! Just purchased Coles gift card from Myer instead.

  • This may seem like a dumb question but I only have one Amex card so is it for every $100 I spend I save $25? I.e if I buy $400 worth of Westfield gift cards do I save $100 or just $25?

    • +1

It's clearly stated in the Offer Terms

Offer is limited to one credit per registered Card.

      • -2

So it's just the one $25 credit even if there are multiple purchases of $100 or more?

        • +1

It's clearly stated in the Offer Terms

Offer is limited to one credit per registered Card.

  • Any idea why some of us are getting emails and others not for the Westfield card? Bought at Chatswood and Sydney City, didn't get emails for either so far

Got emails instantly for Myer though

    • +1

No-one has received an email from Westfield purchase yet. Everyone has received the email from the Myer purchases.

Don't sweat it, the credit will come and if not then call Amex to make sure it does. Happens sometimes.

      • Some OP in Melbourne received emails

      • +1

I do received email for westfield gc purchases.

  • cannot register the westfield offer anymore. It met the max number. Too bad. It goes so quick.

  • -1

Westfield Fountain Gate charged me 3%.

    • What??? That's very unusual?? Did you try to argue? They can't just charge 3% because of this offer.. I have bought gift cards at Fountain Gate before using AMEX and like any other Westfield, there is no surcharge.

      • +3

Perhaps Edsanwong was referring to the $2.95 service fee?

        • Ah, that makes sense for $100 purchase. Let's wait for Edsanwong's explanation.

        • -1

          @feihong:
Aah yup it was the service fee.

    • Did it at FG, bought $400 worth, split payment into 4 cards. The lady told me initially that would incure $2.95 X 4 fee, but before I even argued, she then added the total would be $402.95. So, I just said, uhm, okay, lol. Got all emails within minutes too. She did ask to see the cards (I presume she checked the name are all same) but didn't ask for any ID.

  • +1

Westfield Burwood does a maximum of 2 split payments. Checked ID for the guy in front of me but didn't check mine for some reason even though I used 8 cards.

    • Just saw your post after posting mine below. Were you the lucky person standing behind me :-)?
