    • I don't understand what the issue is here!!!
So what happened once the manager come down?
      (We are heading there shortly)

      • I went at 9am and no issues getting 2 Westfield gift cards same time same day. Must be getting more and more people now…

        • I got 2 (me and Mrs tizey). I had requested 8.

Didn't bother with manager.. she had made her mind up. Will try another day.

    • I had big fights with Southland lady yesterday. Got no where. Came home and called southland management on the phone, got no where with them either. I bought two by going to two different concierge desks. I don't really have another Westfield near me to go to. I have only bought 2 of my possilbe 8 and don't feel like going back there multiple times. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Can see the credit for Westfield in all my 4 cards today. I purchased the cards on 1st Dec.

    • Did you purchase them online or in store?

Edit: I see you previously mention Airport West.

Can anyone confirm they have received the rebate with purchasing online?

    • Did you get the confirmation email?
      If so, was it instant?

      • +1

Yes, I received instant confirmation email post purchase.

        • for Westfield purchase ? or Mobile wallet offer ?

        • @spk: For both

  • +1

Purchased 2 x $100 cards today at Knox Westfield. They wouldn't take split payments. 10 mins later went to Target to get Coles Myer Gift cards, no issue. No credit email from amex yet.

    • Do you mean that you used the westfield cards to buy Coles Myer cards?

      • Yes. Westfield is out of the way for me usually and coles is nearby.

        • you can use your westfiled card directly at any Woolies and coles, why you do that?

        • @John Kelvin: not if he got the Red card and not the XS CARD

        • @uggugg: I use my red card successfully at a woolies outside of any westfield

        • @John Kelvin: Coles Myer GC is useable at places not found in Westfield SC's. Such as Officeworks or Coles Express.

        • @lostn: Yes, however you loose to use the card at Aldi and woolies, so it's hard to say which card is better. but dont risk yourself by exchange the giftcard which is prohibited by TCs

        • +1

@John Kelvin: For him, Westfield was far enough out of the way that he didn't mind losing access to Woolies and Aldi with his gift card.

        • @John Kelvin:From the terms I understood that the red card can only be used in Westfield centres - 'The Westfield Gift Card can be used at over 8,000 retailers within Westfield centres Australia wide.'

        • +1

@junet: What the terms say and what is actually possible is different.

  • +3

I just bought 2 vouchers in person and didn't get my email from amex.
    Anyone else getting the emails?

    • +1

Bought today. No emails. Looks like it takes time.

  • +1

Westfield geelong, buy $120 gift card and get extra $20 gift card free. Today only

    • Good tip. Some people will be kicking themselves if other Westfields offer this too - later!

  • Concierge at Westfield Sydney is saying the offer is only valid on the red cards, not the XS cards, and they pass details about which gift card was purchased to Amex.

Would it really operate any differently to how any other cashback works (basically just by merchant ID)?

The terms and conditions also do not say anything (as far as I can tell) to differentiate between types of gift cards.

    • Damn, maybe that's why I didn't get an email.

      • I asked for a XS card and the Lady processed a Red card worth $600 at 4:30 pm last evening - Sydney city Westfield.

Balance is still not loaded as I type.
Haven't got email from Amex(doesn't matter which card u bought) emails aren't coming.

They asked me to come back on Monday either for a refund or replacement with XS

        • Hmm what's an xs card?
I just asked for a standard card, $2.50 fee.

I used the amex deal 2x at rebel sport as well and got no emails, so I assume the amex email notifications are just down

        • @idonotknowwhy:

xs is an eftpos card that should be useable 'almost' everywhere , has a slightly higher fee though

      • +1

Amex offer terms do not say only red gift card. It says Westfield branded gift cards. Besides, I bought both type of gift cards and did not get any confirmation.

    • On the they hand… the concierge desk downstairs was selling stacks of XS gift cards and clearly offering both options to people obviously using their Amexes.

    • +2

Tell them Westfield are breaking Australian privacy laws.

    • +1

Some staff don't even know what they are talking about, just telling people the misleading information just to show that they are idiots.

    • Report them to OAIC for breach of the privacy act

  • Has anyone tried buying gift card at nespresso and finding it works?

    • There is no gift card at Nespresso.

You need top spend $80 or more, in one or more transactions, online or in-store - then AMEX will give you $20 back

  • Just did my giftcard run, thank you OP!

  • did my gift card run this morning
No issues at any of the stores doing 3x separate buys of each
Emails for amex promos from Myer and First Choice (and one for Android Pay $10). None from Westfield yet.

Not bad getting better than 20% discount on $1200 worth of useable gift cards..

  • can someone tell me how to use the switch cards & pay with apple pay?

  • There's no way to buy the gift cards online and use them on the same day, right? You'd have to wait for it to be shipped to you.

    • ofcourse yes

  • Westfield Carindale allowed split payments on XS gift cards. Split $400 between 4 cards and received 7 (missing one mobile wallet email) emails instantly

  • Bought 4x $100 GC at Parramatta Westfield this arvo. They didn't allow split payment but the staff there were polite.

  • One per Amex card?

  • Can confirm Parramatta Westfield did not allow splitting payment but i was able to use Andriod pay for payment and got notifications about mobile wallet offer immediately. Also used Westfield gift card successfully at ALDI even though ALDI is not in Westfield

    • red or XS ?

      • Red and yes it started showing balance when i checked about 15 mins later

        • how did you check the balance ?

        • +1

@spk: Westfield website using card number and reference number. edit here is the link for you

        • @lokesh7: Ii was trying to check on the same link since yesterday and it keeps saying 'Invalid card details'.

Definitely, something wrong the way loaded my Red gift card. Monday first hour to Westfield Sydney city concierge.

        • @spk: are you using pin number in reference field by any chance?

        • @lokesh7: no I am using the reference number on back of my card

        • @spk: Same here

        • @BuyIfNeed: invalid card details ?
          Have u done split payments?

        • @BuyIfNeed: I called up Westfield Sydney(that's where I bought) and I was told that there would be a limit for every person who sells the gift cards.

And by the time you purchased the card, if their account goes Over the limit for that day… head office needs to manually approve the transactions (which he is expecting to be done tomorrow as they don't operate over the weekend)

        • @spk: No, not split payment but used Android pay

        • @spk: Thanks will check tomorrow, if it still show invalid card details, I will give them a call.

        • @BuyIfNeed: If time permits, I recommend you go to a Centre in person and they can swap a card on the spot for you if there is an issue with the card itself.

        • @feihong: Lets see what they say when I call them on monday

        • @BuyIfNeed: I went in to the centre and they advised me to call the 1300 number tomorrow morning

        • @BuyIfNeed: I called them this morning and they activated it for me

        • @spk: Thanks for letting me know. I ll try in evening

  • Not much chatter here about the Woolworths deal…..so are people buying online electronic giftcards from them and getting Amex email acknowledgements?

    • +1

Not possible because gift cards are not purchased on www.woolworths.com.au. It redirects you to its own gift card website which will not trigger the credit.

  • +1

I got 2x $100 XS GC at Liverpool Westfield. It was strictly one per person and staff looked pissed off.

Also got 8x $100 XS GC at Parramatta Level 4 Westfield. There were no limits and staff were very helpful, however you couldn't do split payment.

Both locations accepted Android Pay. I received both mobile wallet and Westfield emails immediately at Liverpool, but only the mobile wallet emails at Parramatta.

    • I was able to buy $700 XS card with split payment at L4 Parramatta this arvo.

      • Lucky you! Perhaps you were served by a different staff member?

    • +1

      -UPDATE-

So for Liverpool, I've received credits for both mobile wallet and Westfield offers. I've only received credits for the mobile wallet offer for Parramatta.

I've spoken to Live Chat and they will manually issue credits for the remaining Westfield offers within 3-5 days.

      • All credits received. 😋

  • Bought 1x$300 XS from Marion Westfield in Adelaide, the lady who served me was more than willing to split payment over three cards. Same story for the $450 card from Myer - Got emails from Amex for both straight away too…

    • I went to West Lakes, asked the lady to split and she tried, said payment system only allowed one card - so can pay half with card and rest with cash arghhh. Lucky you.

      • I did it at West Lakes today and she was able to split payment, weird.

        • Lucky you! I still haven't got the confirmation email from the 2 gift cards bought at West Lakes (1 red, 1 XS), but got the $10 android pay. The gift card (red) bought today at TTP was pretty much instant, along with the $10 android pay.

        • @Ughhh: Same here, I've had issues with Amex offer emails and contactless payments, but the payment always comes through in the end.

  • Westfield Doncaster refuses to split payment. Initially they were only willing to sell one card which is ridiculous. Amex have sent out an email which disallows split payments to Westfield.
I guess some of them have read that as only one card to be purchased as well.
Shit handling of the promotion by Amex imo.

No issues at splitting payments at Myer. Max to load onto one gift card is 500 though.

    • The centre conceirge said 1 card per person per day as per your comment. The 2 side ones (1 close to JB and the other one adjacent to DJ) had no issue with split payments.. But of course it depends on who you get too

      • I think by the time I went, they had all gotten the message. Email from amex came through last night I think.

        • I went there around 11.30am today FYI

  • Can confirm Westfield Chermside let me split payments. I only registered mine and the missus card so we just got the $200 xs. There was no ID check required but my missus was with me. I never mentioned American Express at all.
Also went to The Body Shop, got 20% off for super Saturday and was able to split payment on both our cards.

  • Haven't got email confirmations for two different amex cards. Bought the XS gift cards. Should the credits come through for xs cards?

  • +2

So here's my experience so far after using up all my AMEXs for the following promos:

Got all the First Choice Liquor and Myer statement credit emails came through

Zero Westfield credit emails came through

Only ANZ issued AMEXs got email confirmation for Rebel Sports

Regardless, I am more than confident that all the statement credits will appear sooner or later

  • Westfield Woden let me split payment - so paid for one $200 voucher with 2 AMEX cards and got an email confirmation immediately.

Got email confirmations for Body Shop and Rebel Sport within a couple of minutes post purchase.

  • Westfield Bondi were happy to do two transactions (i.e., 2 x $100 gift cards). Friendly service. Said you AmEx bastards had been coming in all day doing this.

Smashed up the Myer AmEx deal first ($150 spend & get $35 back). Topped it up with split payment on the Westfield gift card. Yay.

Have not received a single email though o_O

PS: Westfield $2.95 service charge per gift card so not cool.

    • +1

I think you are the first one here to report that no email confirmation came through for Myer offer (not something I will be worried about though)

  • +2

Westfield Plenty Valley Vic allows split payments. Got $300 over 3 cards. Friendly concierge.

    • I'm confused with split payment terms.

If you got $300 over 3 cards, that is one payment per card.

I thought split payment here is about getting 1 card with multiple payments?

      • What i meant is buy $300 gc, and split payment over 3 amex cards.

  • Westfield Miranda also allowed split payments. Got $300 with 3 cards but no email yet. Got 9 x $50 from Myer GC and received 3 emails from amex instantly.

  • Does any of Coles group stores sell Opal cards?

  • At Myer Macquarie Centre, I also noticed the best restaurants gift cards if people don't want to buy the Coles Myer Group ones.

    • Not a bad tip but I think Coles Myer Group ones will still be better, because you can just use the Coles Myer Group ones to buy the Best Restaurants ones later further down the track (i.e. Coles Myer is still more versatile)

      • Yeah but buying gift cards using gift cards is mostly not allowed and I noticed it under the actual gift card as well as a condition.

        • True - by the book it's not allowed. But I believe the system allows it, so could be done if you get lucky I suppose.

        • @illumination: yes true. I like best restaurant gift cards cause they can be used at some of my fav places like chefs gallery

  • Purchased mine at Westfield Carousel in Perth (22 of them), they wont allow split payments so 1 GC per 1 Amex card (took a while), did check my ID's but didnt seem to check the name on the card (I have lots of additional card holders).

I used these Westfield cards to buy those "Visa" cards from Coles ($100 + $5.95 fee) - can these cards be used to top up the Coles reloadable prepaid card?

    • did check my ID's but didnt seem to check the name on the card (I have lots of additional card holders).

That's something I always fear. I have two supp cards and if they don't allow PIN and require signature, that complicates things. At HN when I did the split payment I used 3 different signatures, but thankfully the girl didn't get suspicious why a person would have 3 different signatures.

      • were those newly issues supplementary cards ?

        • They were issued a couple of months ago.

But my main card which is about 5 months old also required signature.

I think HN requires signature for AMEX. Or maybe if it's above a certain amount it requires signature.
